Ok so I know you are super busy but I am running into some issues and have a couple questions. I was able to use the Downloader that you setup and I was able to download some Homebrew Games and some Emulators. When I scan Roms I get and error: (Scrpit Failed! create_roms_list.py) When Downloading the Hombrew, it asked where I wanted them located so I made a Hombrew folder on the F Drive. But the games do not show in Ports. Where do I put the Homebrew Games and do they need to be Scanned? Get back to me whenever you get the time. I will keep trying to research it. How did you fit 1,000+ total XBOX games combined on the F and G partitions when you can have 240 folders max in the "games" folder on each? 2. Where do I put an intro startup video as there is no browse to intro video button when I select use intro video in the options? Thank you in advance. BTW, I'm using XBMC4Gamers 1.2.122 and X2 CE modchip if that makes any difference. Thanks again.
There is no 240 folder limit, the fatx file system can support just over 4000 folders or files in 1 directory. The 240 folder limit myth is due to some random folk getting game starting issues with over 240 saves. No one can workout why these users have this issue, but they are normally using a hacked bios. (Not seen one with the issue who was softmodded) Also my games are a dummy list, so I have zero games on there, just the xbe files with names and titleids for testing. Intro video goes next to the default.xbe named intro.mp4

I Finally had the time to sort those out and I reformatted the 2tb drive with XBpartioner 1.3 with 64 clusters now have over 240 in one folder yay! Got intro video working by placing .mp4 in correct place next to default.xbe as you advised thank you. Everything coming together nicely the way I would like. I put FBL V1.25 aside for now because I'm stuck on figuring out where and what the batch file is to make single region ***'s. I think I may understand why you made this is so the game list wouldn't have many duplicates and look overall sloppy?? Just a guess. :) And btw where do I put KIxxx 1.3 through downloader so that it shows up on the home list with the other emulators as I don't see a folder to point it to? Any help on this would be very appreciated. Again, thank you so so much for your hard work it's making me enjoy my XBOX again.
FBL here is the bat file you need to sort the rims out. where are the systems logos for the carousel saved to? i get a no image found if i add an (extra) emulator to the emulators/roms folder (like a second C64 emulator so i can split up the roms or add an extra emulator ie vectrex

Hello. I am a total newbie to this but using your programs, am modding an xbox for a friend. I have managed to get this far with emustation running very well. What do I now need to do to get MAME on it as my friend wants arcade games. Do I have to download any emulators and what roms do I use as it seems very different to getting console stuff to work, which seemed alot easier. Thanks for everything you've done for people like me.
Hey JRock, I was wondering if you could help me to get the 480p Game Loaders to work with emustation. I've gotten the script to run by editing the .py, and now I've gotten it added to the Custom_UISettings.xml underneath the Xbox Games Artwork Installer. But when I run it I can see the screen dim a little like its running behind the Other Settings menu. Wondering if you could point me in the right direction of which file I need to edit to get it to run on top of the menu. Is it one of the modules, or maybe this main.xml in the 480p resources folder? FYI I know nothing about programming or python. Any help would be much appreciated tho.
I found the answer, the zorder command edited into the main.xml was all that I needed to finally get it fully working and implemented into emustation. :)
Also, except for xbox whereb all the game artworks and decscriptions are in place, all the rest in psx, gba, snes ... etc are all blanks for the artworks and unknown for the descriptions. Did I missed anything in the setup ? Thanks.
Quick question...... Got all my systems up and running nicely, was wanting to download "Beats of rage" and "Doom" via the download section and then ideally place them in the "Ports" section but, I've looked everywhere, in every drive and folder and can't find "Ports"? Can I just go into my ROMS folder and create a folder named "Ports"?
Press start.... Other settings.... Auto scan systems. If you've got the rom path set correctly and have them in the right folders and right file type they'll automatically be scanned in and show no problem
One more real quick question JCRocky5.........I'm using a Vice64X compete pack from "EmuXtras" which has over 5k games, obviously the fatx structure only allows 4096 to be stored and there is no option within the vice config to add an alternative path (01, 02 etc etc)...... Is there anything that can be done to add an alternative rom path manually by changing a file on my laptop or is this something that MadMab would need to look at if I can pin him down on a forum? Sorry if this is something that's maybe a bit irrelevant to emustation, just hoped you might have an idea. Thanks!
Standalone probably, in emustation no. In all honesty there is no need for the full 5K games, but it becomes a pain in the ass when sub folders are introduced. So I just left them out. Doesn’t mean at a later date I don’t add them in, but right now the fatx limit applies in emustation.

Just spent a few hours deleting all the games and pics and previews etc down to 4096, don't want standalone as I prefer everything tied up in your emustation! Hi, The N64 emulator fails to run with a black screen. When I try to auto scan or update selected system N64, I will get a "script failed : create rom list py". Any advice ? Thanks.
i have added vectrex emulator and roms but when i scan roms i get a "no roms found error" is there a file that needs editing to add a new system and rom filetypes?
I will update emustation later on, with a small quick file in the downloader that will add support for adding extensions to the script easily by adding files to a folder. File types\bin.ft Would add .bin file scanning to the script eg....
Hotfix is on the downloader under the updates tab. Let’s you add new extensions easily. Just make a new blank file with the extension you need. Example: md.ft These files go in Q:\.emustation\scripts\file types\
@@JCRocky5 will have a play at weekend. you've done a great job with this and you softmod tools. now you just need to mod evoX bios with your theme colours and a new Logo🤣
At what point, does it stick? If the screensaver come on or when you are pressing back. ( there is a 3 second delay when entering the home menu. So you can’t spam back )

Hey there sir. Great work on this setup. I had a question if you can help. How do you add the Roms // Emulators // Media Folders for each Emulator to the F Drive so that you have more space available for all the Roms and Media so it doesn't overload the E Drive? Do I need to FTP the Emustation Folder to both E and F Drive? It was briefly shown on another Video you have: ua-cam.com/video/F7QQmG8p3ow/v-deo.html @ - 23:14.
Just move the folders out of the .emustation folder after you have setup emustation for the first time. Options > File Manager Once you do that you can set custom paths to those folders. (I normally have mine in F:\XBMC-Emu Stuff\)

JCRocky5 is a 1.6 chipped with aladdin is there a way to install this as a main dashboard in the C partition?

Just make a folder on the root of E,F or G named Ports. (It’s like games and homebrew)

Yo dude, any reason why XBMC-Emustation isn't showing any emulators even when I have the ROM folders populated with games?

i followed the tutorial but it wont launch on my xbox
Something wrong with the screensaver, my machine forever stuck in it, I can push any button just flashing once every time the screen and that's it.

If you moved the media folder also you will need to add the custom path for that directory also.
Can this be found to use and play on PC?
No, you would use EmulationStation for windows or if you have a raspberry pi you could use retropie.

Just download the pre-built version of emustation and FTP the XBMC-Emustation folder to E or F partitions and that’s you.
