I played a game now while trying to counterstrafe and got 22 kills and 30% hs. It definitely works, but damn it requires alot of concentration before it becomes natural as with most things I guess

When you take that into consideration, it is far mote impressive that they’re in bronze compared to an experienced val player who ranked up from gold to plat in one month. The amount of basic skills and game sense that you learn from iron to bronze if really important for climbing to higher ranks

this mechanic isn't really necessary to reach high ranks, a 0.25 diff is basically a placebo affect. Deadzoning which you mentioned here is way more important than counter strafing
I made it to Plat 1 without knowing how to counter strafe but in those plat games I quickly felt that something was off and I didn't know what it was which caused me to quickly derank back to gold. Did I just not belong in plat? Did I get lucky during my gold games? I wasn't sure what the issue was (I had also only heard of counter strafing a couple times but never took the time to look up what it was). Once I finally looked it up and learned how it works, after a lot of practice, I went from gold 2 to asc 1. It felt especially prominent in deathmatches. Sometimes I just hopped on to play a few deathmatches because I didn't want to commit to a full game. I would always get my ass handed to me in those games and would get so frustrated after just 2 deathmatches that I would just completely log off for the day and go play something else.
Btw it's been prooven that just letting go of the key and counterstrafing doesn't make a difference in movement accuracy, its the same speed. So yall dont have to practice this
@@RemValorant Oh na I dont mean counter strafing as in burst strafe burst, I mean it as in the CSGO term where you are accurate faster when you tap in the opposite direction, thats not the case for valorant. Burst strafe burst like you mentioned in the Video is absolutely necessary and needed in this game
I noticed that you're having a hard time spinning with your mouse. That means your mouse sensitivity settings is at the lowest usable setting as well so that you don't have to over do your aiming.
this is pretty hard to do when you developped bad habit. you dont even notice your missing the first bullets when trying to shoot right after moving, thats frustrating, cant analyze the errors and understand... no replay or anything

The point of effective counterstrafing is that you also have decent crosshair placement. Good enough that you just need to move right or left (especially when peeking or missing your first tap/burst)
Every time I counter strafe with two bullet bursts my accuracy slowly becomes worse and I have to strafe even longer to get my shots accurate. In the video I see you strafing shorter and faster bursts without your aim becoming less accurate. Idk how though

And I never said that pros didn’t do it (if you want to do it I have no objection lol, ik it can help some people but I don’t see a use for it and when I personally compared them I saw no difference and my skill was the same), I said SOME (emphasis on SOME) pros do it since they have the habit instilled in them from csgo and others probably learnt it since yes it does provide a benefit of a COUPLE ms, which in PRO PLAY (emphasis on PRO) is extremely useful I never meant that counter strafing has been proved to be useless (it is in fact better by a couple ms/frames) but in regular comp this couple ms doesn’t do much and to learn counterstrafing is much harder than normal strafing since you have to continuously use the A and D keys (well after getting used to it it’s fine) so IMO (and others too) it’s not worth spending time to learn it if you’re still under immo and even radiant, there definitely is plenty of radiants who don’t use it lol

apparently pressing the opposite movement key will improve the speed of letting go of the key and stop by 0.2 second
