Hhehe, those are just simple knots, basically what I've done is choose a front and a back side for all pieces, I make a knot and send the thread from the back to the front in a way that the knot is bigger than the hole and so it stops at the hole, I then take the thread into the front of the next piece to the back and once again do the same knot, now I cut the thread and start over for the next hole...

Ideally you have to treat air dry clay products like you treat terracotta pots or porcelain they will crack break if they fall... if you make them too thin they can crack just by snapping them with bare hands... so ideally make them thick then allow to slow dry and then of course keep them like any other clay/glass product. Drying time depends on the size of the piece and also how much water you had to add for merging etc, how to check for Drying is that wet clay looks less white, a different colour to the dry colour...keep it outdoors but not in too much direct sun as it will then bend/ crack
They are all beautiful creations. But from my experience, one can use wall putty for cheaper DIY at least in India. Hands will become messy but one can do all these in 30- 40 bucks.
