- I needed to clean up some of my work in the loft of the dovetail log cabin. The bedroom is on one end of the loft and the gable end wall needed some work.

Howdy brother- Dow here in the South there were cabins that had hand split thin boards over the chinking gaps inside. I restored the Chism House circa 1845 that had hand split and planed boards on a couple walls on the inside. There was some original chinking underneath them. So what you are doing is staying with what was done in the past. Looks great. Hope you have a great weekend. God bless

What if you insulated the bays between the rafters, stripped the rafters with 1x3s, and ran the 1x12s vertically?
Could work, what makes you think vertical would be better? Open to ideas

This is one of two of my favorite cabins on You Tube. My brother has a nice one in Kars, NB but not quite as rustic looking. Could you do a summer video of the woods and brook and building exteriors? That area is just so beautiful.
