Moore Mill (Pelzer, SC) - Alex Davis

I was doing camera tests with my new Panasonic GH4 and was moved by the images I was getting of the Moore Mill in Pelzer, SC. I wrote this piece on the piano the next morning reflecting on the serene and nostalgic footage.
FOR PRODUCTION PEOPLE:
This was my first shoot with the GH4 and I was really pleased with it. I was concerned about getting a flat dynamic image (because in my research there was one person that was displeased with this) but was pleased from the outset AND was even able to go into the settings and modify "Highlight Shadow" settings to flatten it out even more. VERY pleased.
I made one error (for half the footage) in that I didn't synchro scan down to a 1/48 shutter speed for my 24 frame footage to really drive home the cinematic feel. Not a crisis, but I won't make the same mistake again. Half of the footage 4096x2160 at 24 and half 3840x2160 at 23.976 (I just interpreted it to 24 in Premiere) and was pleased with cropping it in on an 1080p timeline.

Hi Matt, sorry for the late reply. This is located just off Moore's Mill Rd at Hurricane Creek Farm.

@@alexdavis5613 craziest late reply, but I am fairly new to the area and was exploring Pelzer recently. Saw the name Moores Mill road, drove it but never found the mill. Searching the internet, found your video! I did remember seeing Hurricane Creek Farm. Are they open to the public? Can I just stroll on in, buy some produce and check out this old mill?
