- Come along on our second adventure with our new travel trailer! This month, we journey upstate to Paris Mountain State Park just outside Greenville, SC. We continue to learn all about the RV-owning experience by doing exactly what you shouldn't do - jumping in head-first! Mistakes are made, lessons are learned!
Paris Mountain State Park's "Music in the Woods" program provides free concerts from local musicians in the park's amphitheater each Saturday in the month of October, and we were treated to a performance by Darby Wilcox, a indie/folk singer-songwriter. We love that part of Greenville, went there last year and did the hikes around the lake w 2 kids and we all had fun.
Oh, yeah - that lake-loop trail would be the kid-friendliest. We'd like to go back sometime and try one of the more "advanced" trails. Thanks for watching!

Thanks a bunch! I sorta felt like Country-Come-To-Town when I saw that - I'm sure it's incredibly common at parks where mountain biking is popular, but it was sure a new thing to me!

Yeah! Better still, I got a super deal on it - if I remember right, it was fifty bucks at a Best Buy last year. It was the last one they had, and I wonder if it was mis-tagged somehow. It's great, but I've already just about outgrown it!
The pull-tab on one of my zippers keeps coming loose. Other than that, the bag's holding up really well.
You were less than 2 miles from us! Hope you will come back! Go up to Travelers Rest.?..great restaurants there. If you like BBQ, please try Whistle Stop....yummmmmm. You will not be disappointed. We eat there often.
We certainly would love to do Paris Mountain again for longer than just a weekend, but Heaven knows when we'll get around to it. New barbecue to try might just be the motivating factor, though!! Thanks for watching!

Yeah, that was new to us, too. Here in SC, there are gourds all over the state set up in parks and on farmland for birds, so I was surprised that I'd never run across those before. One of the reasons we call the channel "Live 'n' Learn!"

B-role shots were cool and so was the temp, lol state park with a paved area is nice.
Thx! Yeah, we weren't expecting temps that cool when we planned the trip, but once we got there are starting rolling with the late-fall-ish weather, we kinda got into it!
What was wrong with your house refrigerator? Glad you had furnace in your trailer. The roast looked real good! The hike looked fun and singer was good. Nice you had fun even in the rain. How did it work out with going to Walmart to get something for the breaks? Well stay safe.
Our ice-maker had mysteriously stopped working, but it just as mysteriously started up again a day or two later. Go figure... 🤷🏼♂️ The brake situation was no biggie - the brake controller inside the truck just needed a "tweak." Thanks for watching!

How are you getting tv and wi-fi. ? What do you use to attain these?
If memory serves, I was watching the World Series that night over-the-air, from Greenville's local Fox station. We've had pretty good luck with cell signal and our Amazon FireTV stick on other trips, too.
Sadly, the last four months of the year was probably not the best time to buy your first RV and get into camping. The weather being so unpredictable in fall and winter can really turn off folks to camping.
Hindsight being 20/20, you're probably right, but now that "camping season' is almost upon us again, we figure we've already learned how to "rotten-weather camp." Camping in proper weather should be a breeze now!
