I actually live in this town! Thanks for the video on West Pelzer and Pelzer! You have earned yourself a subscriber! As a SC boy I’m excited to see you visit every town!
For the ones wondering the men are Francis Pelzer and Ellison Smyth. I’m assuming, I don’t know much about the actual mural. But those are the two main figures in our towns history.
That hair salon has been there since I was a kid. I’ve never actually had my hair cut there. I use Scott’s barber just up the road on the right.
The old gas station I have heard actually used to be a fire department before becoming multiple mechanic shops. Most recently Bracken automotive before closing down.
Mama Mia’s Is the best pizza around!
We allow all those things. Just depends on who you tell lol😂
The gym is basically a historical building. It and the Lyceum are in the process of being restored.
Just up the road is the Pelzer Presbyterian church. With its beautiful stained glass and pipe organ.
To the comments on the traffic. We are right in the middle of Greenville and Anderson and Simpsonville. Traffic on highway 8 and 20 is always busy. Especially during Clemson football games!
    Thanks for visiting our town!

Looks like a lot of vehicles passing through but I wonder just how much business it gets. I wish this town good luck in it's future ❤

We are moving up steadily. It looks like we are not the only ones who like walking around town centers.
I think there is a longing for all of them to come back to life. We have put too much emphasis on filling up major cities to the brim, which just leads to problems, if you ask me.

It's like a little rural town and only 25 minutes to Greenville. This place looks like a nice place to get away from city life.

Mural was done by Thomas Addison he was the art teacher at palmetto middle . They guy above who said pelzer and smyth woukd be correct. Where the water tower stand used to be the old Gerber mill. . The homes over there is called turkey ring. They used to all decorate for Christmas and you had to wait in long lines to get through the line to see christmas lights. At the end of the loop were the light people who would take donations for people in need.

Yes originally the mill ran the town so it had strict rules. That change over time. Plenty of dogs in pelzer now 😂

It was also a sundown town a long time ago. The gym he showed used to have a pool underneath in the basement
