They need a break, they even caged a gem inside their gold alloy for a few hours because they looked so much like Antarc and Phos still wasnt over that. Phos has lost so much that their body is barely made up of any phosphophyllite. So little of them is left that I fear the next thing they'll lose is their sanity...
Some people speculate they are losing all these body parts to somehow connect to the seven treasures of buddhism which they already have like 4 of the treasures
The entire thing is 3D rendered, however they often drew over the render with traditional animation because 3D in some cases doesnt deliver the same visuals nearly as well.
They mix the two in the show a lot and it looks great. A good one to notice is the eyelashes. Whenever the eyelashes are individual or have more detail, they’re 2D animations drawn over the rendering
Also, the further you go into the manga the more sides you see of the Lustrous...They all have insecurities and pain due to feeling either powerless/pointless/ or the loss of their friends. They may seem alright on the outside, but on the inside you slowly can sense them crumbling.
You can see how much Posphollyite grows from a young fragile diamond to a strong one. 0:10 How it's eyes shine with innocence but gradually learning how to be stronger and more mature, like we see at 2:46

First,He Lost His Legs,Second,He Lost His Arms,Third He Lost His Head...And Finally they’re Sanity. Phos is So Messed Up Now. The Gems Didn’t Believes Phos Anymore. He is Depressed because of Losing Antarc,He Even Caged a Gem In They’re Alloy for a Few Hours cause they look so Different to Antarc. For Chapter 88 or Chapter 89 I’m scared ;-;
The newer chapters hurt so much, spoilers if you arent caught up, but; Its known that whenever the gems are damaged, they lose some of their memories. Phos is so far damaged, it’s hard to tell what he can and cannot remember. He lost his legs, arms, and even his head. When Phos and Cinnabar fought, Phos used the few things he could remember and used it against Cinnabar. I feel like, Cinnabar knew Phos had very little memories about their previous relationship and in his own way, tried to be gentle when fighting Phos. There are small details in some of the panels that can account to this; Cinnabar’s mercury sort of flows like waves. Phos’s alloyment looks sharp, like spikes. We know that Cinnabar can make the mercury look sharp if he wanted, but he didn’t. I feel a part of him didn’t want to hurt Phos, but in the end it was inevitable. I really hope that the story has a happy ending, and that Phos and Cinnabar can speak together again
But.. A monster can't be created withoit it's creator... Phos desserves more that hatred. She's scattered and wrecked. She spent 203 yrs sealed away fighting for the gems peace with the lunarians. She only wanted every one back. She did nothing wrong but ended up hating her most beloved person..

Just wanna say that this was the video that introduced me to this show. Few years ago this showed up on my homepage and decided to watch it. I was amazed at how stunning the animation and the battle scenes were. Then i just kinda kept it at the back of my head. Fast forward a few years and a random clip showed up again. I knew this was my calling to finally watch this show. It’s was such a gorgeous piece, now probably one of my favourite anime of all times. It’s such a heart wrenching story but the theme explored was really thought-provoking. I now come back to this video again to thank whoever that made this video for introducing me to this amazing series ❤ Yet to read the manga but i shall eventually.
i mean its understandable, this is one of the hardest anime to make as they have the hair,gems, fractures, and drawing of it all. this is a VERY detailed anime and they need lots of time for the same amount of watch time. they also need speakers.

This might be the only anime i'll ever watch...because the whole concept of it is gemstone people (I LOVE STEVEN UNIVERSE) yet when a gem is cracked in Steven Universe, only the gem itself breaks, because their human forms are illusions, and in this, they seem to break completly
this AMV is absolutly perfect! it works so well with the beat and its almost as if you didnt need the song to tell the story, it highlights the struggles that the gems face and highlights he struggles that phosphillite has to deal with untill he/she finds themselfsthere true potential and acsepting who they are! im in love with this one and applaude you with your work. its amazing!

Well they said in the anime she lost quite a bit of her body parts (herself) which generally alters ones memory and or persona
but phos isn't a diamond thats why his/her moh's scale is 3.5
