To be fair the reason it's like that is because every ace attorney game in the Phoenix wright trilogy was like that on their original DS release (except T&T I think)
this series is a must watch for everyone who completed the whole series, it scratches that itch of all those loose plot threads to interweave into a full narrative that nearly transcends regular fanfictions into something that is too good to be not canon

honestly it was kinda funny how kristophs entire motivation in AJ:AA was just jealousy for wright and revenge for zak just because he wasn't appointed as zak's attorney, love it that there's more backstory now
Funny thing is, I still tried to maintain that his main motivation to act against Wright was his jealousy and unhingedness, while fleshing it out a bit with showing his one-dimensional opportunistic mindset against Lana xD
What an amazing journey! This series is like what the Clone Wars was for the Star Wars prequel trilogy - fleshing out the ideas behind the story and making the original story feel even better, while also being a great story on its own. Most of the events were masterfully weaved such that it happened in parallel without contradicting the original story (unfortunately, Lana appearing in court during 4-1 stuck out though as a clearly non-canon event). I enjoyed how it expanded on various plot points like Phoenix’s growing darkness, or Klavier’s struggle to deal with his brother’s corruption. It would be great to see a version of this that uses the official AAI2 localization names, just for consistency’s sake.

As for the names, as someone who is not a very huge fan of the official localization names, I'd rather sacrifice consistency 😋 (though even if I were willing, I still doubt I would do it because re-shooting 2.5 hours just for the name changes would be way too much effort xD)
Now that it's assembled like this: If you told me this was an official script for an Ace Attorney stage play/anime film, I would believe you. THAT'S how well-written this is. 😊

I haven't seen anyone comment it, so I figured I'd go ahead. I'd like to touch on my favorite part about this story and it HAS to be Phoenix Wright. Phoenix Wright IS doing exactly what Von Karma and Damon Gant did. The path to hell is paved with good intentions. When everything is said and done... Lana Skye looks at herself and Phoenix Wright and considers it all. Yes, Mr. Wright is like Damon & Karma now, however... that can change. Phoenix Wright was the Turnabout Terror, fighting corruption at every turn. Hell, that was the premise the story was written on. The hazardous law system in Japan is poisonous to it's very core, and is one of the major conflicts of Gyakuten Saiban. For a main character like Phoenix Wright, to face those issues is incredible. To see him fall, was a huge loss. However, you can see this light change in him, the moment he gets his badge back and Lana talks with him. He restarts again, back where he started. Right in-line with Dual Destinies' bizarre regression of Ryūichi Naruhodō's character. However... now it all makes sense. Phoenix Wright is finally healing.
Yeppp the transition from AJ to DD Phoenix was a bit sudden in the games, and making it make a bit more sense was one of this series' many goals. Glad to hear someone appreciated it :D
Damn this was actually peak- as much as I love Apollo Justice, an aspect I always hated was how alone Phoenix felt in his disbarrment. For all the friends Phoenix has made over the years, and all the people he helped- AJ's story made it feel like for 7 years he was on his on, totally forgotten by everyone. This made me go back and reflect- how the hell did he actually get the jurist system inna test trial? How about all the rest of the investigations? Like many other comments have pointed out- this is way better than fan fictions- I wish ace attorney made this cannon because it genuinely ties many loose ends so well. Also Lana- was never a big fan of her but her arc here was amazing- even better than in rise from the ashes. Great stuff- all in all. Thanks Debastian!
This has been possibly my favorite fan made I have watched in as many years as I could remember. The fact many characters were reused and the plotlines converged into one massive story arc was amazing. It even delves deeper into the motives and behind-the-scene how-dids. I imagine ace attorney series should be more like this, reusing many of the cast instead of one-off characters that only come one case and never again. I appreciate the hard work that was put into this and hope to maybe see even more in the future.
If this story was canon to the AA series itself... The lore would've been huge. This is like a story where she truly played a role in reviving the Wright we once knew, which leads to Dual Destinies and following.

Finished watching this story and dang is it beautiful. This might just be my favorite fan fiction ever. I might be biased because I love Lana Skye as a character and Rise of the ashes is my third favorite case of all time.

Wow this was amazing, i ended up staying up late watching the whole thing, this is canon to me. It fixes so many issues and plot holes the franchise has in the best way possible and has excellent fan service and writing. This was awesome. I loved everything about it. This genuinely felt like something that would happen in an alternate timeline. Would love to see a continuation or a reference. But otherwise else, loved the ending.
I vaguely remember how after finishing pt.1 I was thinking "damn 17 mins, that ended up being too long", no way was I thinking it would end up turning into a long series going over 2 hours xDD

I believe Lana would have been part of the Apollo Justice Trilogy had Shue Takumi continued writing the main-series, Lana Skye's Parole made me realize Lana's story is a mirror of Phoenix's downfall in Apollo Justice and it's so great. (not to mention Ema's return)
The problem with this as good as it is, it would essentially put Apollo in the backburner which is one of the issues the game has. B/c of his feud with Kristoph, Phoenix overshadows Apollo when this is supposed to be his story. I feel that comment at the end where Apollo says that he feels that a lot of things happened without him knowing perfectly explains why he's so resentful in Dual Destinies.
Thanks for putting the whole series in one video. It makes watching much simpler as I don't have to watch 7 videos. No wonder it took so long to make. And it's not good for loading either though. Shame you removed the outro for each part.

I feel like this would fill in a LOOOOOT of holes in that game’s story and maybe even make the other ones even better than they already were.
If Capcom ever notices this story, it could very well be extended a bit and become a new anime or two movies. Or maybe even a special case in another game! When I become famous and get millions, I'll try getting that to come true. After all, who knows what the future has in store for me, you (yes, YOU) and the AA franchise itself? :)

To be fair the reason it's like that is because every ace attorney game in the Phoenix wright trilogy was like that on their original DS release (except T&T I think)
this series is a must watch for everyone who completed the whole series, it scratches that itch of all those loose plot threads to interweave into a full narrative that nearly transcends regular fanfictions into something that is too good to be not canon

honestly it was kinda funny how kristophs entire motivation in AJ:AA was just jealousy for wright and revenge for zak just because he wasn't appointed as zak's attorney, love it that there's more backstory now
Funny thing is, I still tried to maintain that his main motivation to act against Wright was his jealousy and unhingedness, while fleshing it out a bit with showing his one-dimensional opportunistic mindset against Lana xD
What an amazing journey! This series is like what the Clone Wars was for the Star Wars prequel trilogy - fleshing out the ideas behind the story and making the original story feel even better, while also being a great story on its own.
Most of the events were masterfully weaved such that it happened in parallel without contradicting the original story (unfortunately, Lana appearing in court during 4-1 stuck out though as a clearly non-canon event). I enjoyed how it expanded on various plot points like Phoenix’s growing darkness, or Klavier’s struggle to deal with his brother’s corruption.
It would be great to see a version of this that uses the official AAI2 localization names, just for consistency’s sake.

As for the names, as someone who is not a very huge fan of the official localization names, I'd rather sacrifice consistency 😋 (though even if I were willing, I still doubt I would do it because re-shooting 2.5 hours just for the name changes would be way too much effort xD)

I haven't seen anyone comment it, so I figured I'd go ahead. I'd like to touch on my favorite part about this story and it HAS to be Phoenix Wright.
Phoenix Wright IS doing exactly what Von Karma and Damon Gant did. The path to hell is paved with good intentions. When everything is said and done... Lana Skye looks at herself and Phoenix Wright and considers it all.
Yes, Mr. Wright is like Damon & Karma now, however... that can change. Phoenix Wright was the Turnabout Terror, fighting corruption at every turn.
Hell, that was the premise the story was written on. The hazardous law system in Japan is poisonous to it's very core, and is one of the major conflicts of Gyakuten Saiban. For a main character like Phoenix Wright, to face those issues is incredible. To see him fall, was a huge loss.
However, you can see this light change in him, the moment he gets his badge back and Lana talks with him. He restarts again, back where he started. Right in-line with Dual Destinies' bizarre regression of Ryūichi Naruhodō's character. However... now it all makes sense.
Phoenix Wright is finally healing.
Yeppp the transition from AJ to DD Phoenix was a bit sudden in the games, and making it make a bit more sense was one of this series' many goals. Glad to hear someone appreciated it :D
Damn this was actually peak- as much as I love Apollo Justice, an aspect I always hated was how alone Phoenix felt in his disbarrment. For all the friends Phoenix has made over the years, and all the people he helped- AJ's story made it feel like for 7 years he was on his on, totally forgotten by everyone. This made me go back and reflect- how the hell did he actually get the jurist system inna test trial? How about all the rest of the investigations? Like many other comments have pointed out- this is way better than fan fictions- I wish ace attorney made this cannon because it genuinely ties many loose ends so well. Also Lana- was never a big fan of her but her arc here was amazing- even better than in rise from the ashes. Great stuff- all in all. Thanks Debastian!

This has been possibly my favorite fan made I have watched in as many years as I could remember. The fact many characters were reused and the plotlines converged into one massive story arc was amazing. It even delves deeper into the motives and behind-the-scene how-dids. I imagine ace attorney series should be more like this, reusing many of the cast instead of one-off characters that only come one case and never again. I appreciate the hard work that was put into this and hope to maybe see even more in the future.

That final scene made me realize how badly I *really* hope they bring back Valant and Thalassa in the inevitable Ace Attorney 7. Apollo and Trucy deserve to know the truth and it’s insane that Spirit of Justice only *teased* it at the end.

Finished watching this story and dang is it beautiful. This might just be my favorite fan fiction ever. I might be biased because I love Lana Skye as a character and Rise of the ashes is my third favorite case of all time.

You know? I think this is how AJ's story should be.
Well, at this point in my own head this is how it goes xDDD
The problem with this as good as it is, it would essentially put Apollo in the backburner which is one of the issues the game has. B/c of his feud with Kristoph, Phoenix overshadows Apollo when this is supposed to be his story. I feel that comment at the end where Apollo says that he feels that a lot of things happened without him knowing perfectly explains why he's so resentful in Dual Destinies.

When I become famous and get millions, I'll try getting that to come true. After all, who knows what the future has in store for me, you (yes, YOU) and the AA franchise itself? :)
