tip to find a drygmy : Use Delightful dirt to force spawn passive mobs, that will make it so all 3 of the Ars creatures appear + other animals. You can make it by crafting GM chicken feed that has the Golden egg in its description. Feed that to a chicken and throw the dropped egg on an area of dirt. Protip: make a roofed shelter surrounded by ethereal glass so you can freely come and go and keep the animals isolated inside.
If anyone is interested in another source farm, my go to that you can do early in the modpack is a lava + volcanic sourcelink farm. Don't be daunted by me saying it uses some of the Create mod, I promise it's really easy. I believe in you! You'll need: - a method of transporting lava (Ender Tanks work perfect here) - a way to transport a bucket and filter on whether it's filled or not (Pipez mod works well here but there are many options) - from Create: a depot, a spigot, and a hose pulley for lava - from Ars: a pedestal, volcanic sourcelinks, and source jars Steps: - set up a hose pulley in the nether to fill the ender tank with lava - set up a matching ender tank with a spigot and depot wherever you want your source. - the spigot + depot can be used to automate filling an empty bucket with lava - an item pipe filtered to only pull lava buckets from the depot and pass it to your pedestal surrounded by volcanic sourcelinks - a second item pipe filtered to only pull empty buckets from the pedestal and pass them back to the depot You now have INFINITE SOURCE
I just have a regular mob farm with the source link that generates source from mob deaths. Let it run passively into your ME system and you get more than you need passively
Found this really well done. I just wanted to share a couple small corrections: First, the containment ritual only consumes source after the first time it captures something into a jar. Which will be about 5% of a jars content. Second, the jars will capture any ENTITY in the radius, which includes the invisible vengeful spirits from Evil Craft, so dont kill things near your containment setup(this was something that caused a LOT of confusion for me). It will also capture any dropped items. Keep a touch dispel handy in your spellbook!

But a vengeance spirit in a jar is actually really great, especially if you want to do a lot of evilcraft or make a lot of the stars to get the bee. I also discovered it by accident. The werewolves are very good to enjarify too, you’ve gotta do it on the full moon while he’s a wolf of course but then he stays a wolf, it’s the best way I’ve found to farm the werewolf flesh without waiting for a full moon But you know what does frustrate me, it’s when you’ve put a few too many jars down, you break one and it immediately gets captured inside another…

I've captured all you had in the list to boost the happiness, and only placed with a Piglich and a Wither, placed 6 Drygmy's so far, but havent had a single drop in 15-20 minutes unfortunately :) Will see when they will farm something, maybe they do not recognize Sophisticated Storage - Netherite Chest? Also do I have to mark the chest with Dominion Wand in order to show them where to place items? It is literally next to them.
Oh nevermind, as I was writing this 18 Heart Containers and lots of XP Shards had been farmed. No Piglich Heart yet but surely will drop soon. Thanks again mate. Edit: Aaaand as I was writing that, 13 and than another 15 for a total of 28 Piglich Hearts dropped. :)
You can also get drygmy tokens much easier from trading with an Ars Nouveau villager. They have a chance to roll all kinds of token including the Drygmy one, and if you use villager conversion (normally or with Easy Villagers) you can get them for as low as 1 Emerald.
A bit late to the party but a good infinite source farm would be to place an aggrononic sourcelink near a high output Mystical Agriculture farm, such as AlfredGGs design. Source problems solved forever.
I think I nstead of cactus making a source berry farm using a carbuncle (ars nouveau mob so works the same way as drygmy and are used for item transportation and carbuncles can harvest source berry automatically) would work better because source berries overall generate more source through agronomic generator too so it's basically having 2 farms(source and source berry) in one farm
Yeah, this kind of passive farm feels better. I imagine Treasure Goblin farm being more effective, if you add more blades, but this works passively from the get-go.
18:30 How do you check the Loottable without going to the inv/JEI ? The only way I know is to look for gunpowder in JEI and from there go to Mob Drops.
For those who didn't know how to get the Pipes working, you must have the Pipe Wrench, Sneak+Right + Click in to the pipe will change its shape and provide a Pipe entry shape, make sure the Pipe connected to the Controller only tho

Treasure goblins do work?! I tried an apotheosis boss, and it defaulted to the mob's original drops--assumed the same would happen for a treasure goblin. Really appreciate this Epic!
Apotheosis bosses are coded to have a very-strict player-kill condition. Even mods that "act as player-kills" can sometimes not work. The Mob Crusher from Mekanism however, does work! That means you'll need a constant supply of Apotheosis bosses which is it's own challenge. But, setting up a vanilla minecraft Enderman farm works for this as Apotheosis bosses trigger only on natural spawns (spawn eggs, spawners, etc. won't work).
so I built a setup with 105 happiness and counting, i’m using mobs without loot tables, however I noticed I started getting xp shards, i’m not sure if it’s from a specific mob i’ve added but I was wondering if that effects my drop chances or if it’s considered loot. I also noticed that adding different productive bees gives me the unique mob bonus for each one even though it says on the jars they’re drygmy blacklisted.
To find large numbers of drygmys: you can trade emeralds for drygmy tokens using a Shady Wizard. Just place an Arcane Core next to an unemployed villager and it will become a Shady Wizard. There's a 50% chance (I think) that it will have drygmy tokens as an Expert level trade.
great video! this was really helpful. i currently just set up this farm. quick question tho, does the dimension you set up in matter for loot drops? ie if i go set this up in the other will the drops be rarer? or would that just be wishful thinking.
get sourceberry 9X9 farmland no water needed, and build below, only 5 layers going down and in the middle put your core a source relay and an agronomic sourcelink, put a drygmy henge on top of that and build your 10X10 square, put only 1 mob of the things you need, around it, if youre playing ARS mod only do as he did, put them in glas cubes or if youre in Dawncraft, put them in 3x3 stairs with a slab in the middle with roof, basically a cage with some glass walls and circle the henge with 3x3 sourcejars, top it off with 20 drygmis and youve got both XP and item farm, just go afk for 1hr and enjoy your results

at least for Allthemods 9 you can create a data model for the piglich, which means you only need this for the treasure goblin, since there is no data model for him

Some of the best I’ve come across, werewolves and vengeance spirits from evilcraft, all the twilight bosses (especially the snow queen, you need three of her trophies for the atm star).. elder guardian for sponges, dragon for the sinew (no scales sadly), all the creeper variants are great for various woods, stones, sand etc, the death tome for enchanted books, books, book & quills.. ender men, zombie pigs, all the livestocks for meat and leather etc, squids and fishes.. and in atm9 you have the skeleton guy from the graveyard in the nether, he drops netherite, the forgotten golem from undergarden, definitely piglich, witches, blazes, phantoms… Ones which don’t work or give you any useful drops, the wither, the chimera wilden, the bosses from blue skies, the mimic chest. 😖 I like to set the containing ritual going in a compact machine and just leave it going, pop in with a mob in a yoinker or imprisonment tool and very occasionally with a source jar..
Oh great point about the death tomes and the netherite skeleton, also I love the containing ritual in the compacting machine idea :D By the way if you want to farm mimics you can use evil craft, just catch one mimic vengence spirit and then put it in the spirit furnace. If you need more details I answered this in the discord in the "help-forum" ^^ Also i will make a video about evilcraft farms too soon
I don't have access to any large chests (playing ATM 10), is it okay to place a normal chest or will items be voided then if I have a large enough production?

I'm not sure why but I'm not getting catalyzing glands from my creeper farm. Is there a very low drop rate for them or is there something about the mod that makes in incompatible. Can someone who has tried this confirm if it's worked or not for them too? I'm using all the mods 9. Using the second last update up until today
Do all the productive bees work to boost the bonus without adding to the potential loot tables? I would assume so but most of the modded stuff won’t show a loot table for me for some reason even when I know it should.
Aw that sucks. Got a good list of ATM9 mobs that can be used apart from the vanilla ones? I grabbed a few of the naturalist mobs. Pretty sure the zebra, tortoise, hippo, lion, giraffe, elephant, butterfly, bear and alligator all work Oh also how do your drygmys stay on the henge? Mine all splatter out when I put 20 on @@EpicEnchants
how come your drygmys are all standing on the same block? mine push eachother out and walk all over the place. Also is there a way to move them after they are active? Because they walk all over looking at the different jars.
Yeah the pushing also happens for me. Sadly not as far as I know the easiest will be to break the stonehenge which makes them despawn and then build a small inclosure for them.
Hello, love your guide on the whole Drygmy situation. But i have been tryin to get my hands on the Twilight Forest Gem, but till now with no luck of finding one. I was wondering where can you find the gem?
you can kill the apotheosis mini bosses that spawn in occasionally, you'll get a notification that basically says "random name boss" has spawn and then there will be a beacon like beam showing where the boss is for a limited time.
I get loads of arcane essence which seems to be dropping from every mob. I cant find any of the listed mobs in the area that apparently drop it. Have you encounted this issue? It seems to drastically slow down the farm for the drops you want.
Hi, How do you get around having only certain gems dropped in certain dimensions. Is there a way around this or do you just need to build multiple farms for dimension specific gem drops
I just build a very primitive mob farm near my entry portal in each dimension (overworld, nether, end, twilight forest). Just a spawner maxed out with clocks and candied spider eyes etc, and a backpack with vacuum upgrade, switch the spawner on and stand there swinging for five minutes, lots of gems (and xp too). I usually use vindicator spawner because emeralds are handy for the atm star.
I dont think there is a way around this, I would recommend you either build a drygmy/ender gem farm in each dimension in a force loaded chunk or if you only need a couple of gems like the twillight gems you could also make a quick afk farm from my other video ^^
Hey there are pipes from the pipes mod below the pedestals ^^ Just make sure that you change the pipe to output at the controller by sneak right clicking the connection point between the pipe and the controller
they're both good, hostile networks can be scaled up infinitely as long as you make more models, you only need to kill 6 pigliches for the basic tier and that one will upgrade itself automatically in time to 99%, but drygmies are also great if you don't have the means to kill pigliches just yet, is an early-mid game solution. And is easier to set up and cheaper, because for neural networks you need matrixes aka infinite iron, gold, clay, glass
SOS i can't get the source berry farm to work for my life i have gone through all the comments so many times and still can't find a solution i have made everything in the Pipez mod and Functional storage mod and can't get the berries to move onto the pedestals
Did you make sure that the pipez are pumping out by shift+right clicking with the pipez wrench? For in depth support please join the discord and share your problems in the guide channel with some screenshots thats normally the best way for me to help ^^
You said you changed the config file so that the loot drops would be faster. In that case, if we don’t do that, would this even be worth it to make, like how slow/fast is it normally?
I changed it back before I started recording ^^ I would say it's a great mob farm for difficult mobs like the piglich and treasure goblin, it has way lower lag so good for Servers and about the speed there they reduce the speed of Apotheosis spawners so they are actually not that top anymore so the Drygmy is not far off. Also as mentioned there is not really a limit to the Drygmys you could have 4 henges with 50+ Drygmys and speed it up a ton ^^
With more mobs its faster, with more drygmys its faster, i only have one drygmy so i used 6 piglich, had ~200 hearts after an hour, i stopped it cause i know have 700+ piglich heatblocks and, 500 hearts, it is still verry much worth, and its what i used for a long time( still using it consistently cus nothing competes with its space effecincy
Yes when you push them or when there is a mob far away they start to walk around. Theoretically you could build a cage around the hedge if they annoy you ^^
Sure mob swabs and spawners are always an great option, but in ATM9 they got strongly nerfed sadly. Alternatively the Drygmy system is super compact, easy to expand without one having to worry about conveyors, grinders, lag or spawning limitations. But at the end of its everyone's choice which system they want to use :D
Yeas but you will only get exp and not the star Its the same for the wilden boss of mod but I did not check with onther modded bosses You can also catch the ender dragon and the right click with an empty bottle on the jar to get dragon breath P.s Dygmys can get you wither skulls thoug and with only one evoker ALL the totems of undying you'll ever need

get sourceberry 9X9 farmland no water needed, and build below, only 5 layers going down and in the middle put your core a source relay and an agronomic sourcelink, put a drygmy henge on top of that and build your 10X10 square, put only 1 mob of the things you need, around it, if youre playing ARS mod only do as he did, put them in glas cubes or if youre in Dawncraft, put them in 3x3 stairs with a slab in the middle with roof, basically a cage with some glass walls and circle the henge with 3x3 sourcejars, top it off with 20 drygmis and youve got both XP and item farm, just go afk for 1hr and enjoy your results
Im playing in 1.18.2 so containment jars an containment ritual arent added yet, do you know an alternative way so i can capture mobs in that version? pls help me
at least for Allthemods 9 you can create a data model for the piglich, which means you only need this for the treasure goblin, since there is no data model for him
This makes me wonder can you farm a legendary boss with this method I already know that you can pick them up and I've been trying to find a way to farm them but so far I haven't had any luck but this might just do it

Drygmy shards can also come from Ars Nouveau villagers (about a 50/50 at expert level to get the trade I think)
True, I also noticed that they can also appear in the Loot Tables of spawner chests :D

The fastest gem farm would be actually the wannabee, otherwise I think drygmy are quite a bit slower but also way faster to get and setup

Some of the best I’ve come across, werewolves and vengeance spirits from evilcraft, all the twilight bosses (especially the snow queen, you need three of her trophies for the atm star).. elder guardian for sponges, dragon for the sinew (no scales sadly), all the creeper variants are great for various woods, stones, sand etc, the death tome for enchanted books, books, book & quills.. ender men, zombie pigs, all the livestocks for meat and leather etc, squids and fishes.. and in atm9 you have the skeleton guy from the graveyard in the nether, he drops netherite, the forgotten golem from undergarden, definitely piglich, witches, blazes, phantoms…
Ones which don’t work or give you any useful drops, the wither, the chimera wilden, the bosses from blue skies, the mimic chest. 😖
I like to set the containing ritual going in a compact machine and just leave it going, pop in with a mob in a yoinker or imprisonment tool and very occasionally with a source jar..
Oh great point about the death tomes and the netherite skeleton, also I love the containing ritual in the compacting machine idea :D
By the way if you want to farm mimics you can use evil craft, just catch one mimic vengence spirit and then put it in the spirit furnace. If you need more details I answered this in the discord in the "help-forum" ^^

im not sure but if the hopper pot does have a storage space within, you can also directly connect the pipe under the pot

I know that drygmy are 10 blocks (radius) in each direction for determining drops: do they also have 10 blocks up and down for their range?

Do all the productive bees work to boost the bonus without adding to the potential loot tables? I would assume so but most of the modded stuff won’t show a loot table for me for some reason even when I know it should.
They sadly dont I tried it but they all count as one type if you check their spawn eggs they all have the same tag for their name
Aw that sucks. Got a good list of ATM9 mobs that can be used apart from the vanilla ones? I grabbed a few of the naturalist mobs. Pretty sure the zebra, tortoise, hippo, lion, giraffe, elephant, butterfly, bear and alligator all work

Yeah the pushing also happens for me.
Sadly not as far as I know the easiest will be to break the stonehenge which makes them despawn and then build a small inclosure for them.

They drygmys start walking around if there is mob which at the edge of their "magic radius" at best you build the hedge in a small cage ^^

you can kill the apotheosis mini bosses that spawn in occasionally, you'll get a notification that basically says "random name boss" has spawn and then there will be a beacon like beam showing where the boss is for a limited time.

when i load up my drygmy's in atm9 they explode everywhere and just trade once and then break, its saddening
I get loads of arcane essence which seems to be dropping from every mob. I cant find any of the listed mobs in the area that apparently drop it. Have you encounted this issue? It seems to drastically slow down the farm for the drops you want.

Hi, How do you get around having only certain gems dropped in certain dimensions. Is there a way around this or do you just need to build multiple farms for dimension specific gem drops
I just build a very primitive mob farm near my entry portal in each dimension (overworld, nether, end, twilight forest). Just a spawner maxed out with clocks and candied spider eyes etc, and a backpack with vacuum upgrade, switch the spawner on and stand there swinging for five minutes, lots of gems (and xp too). I usually use vindicator spawner because emeralds are handy for the atm star.
I dont think there is a way around this, I would recommend you either build a drygmy/ender gem farm in each dimension in a force loaded chunk or if you only need a couple of gems like the twillight gems you could also make a quick afk farm from my other video ^^

Hey there are pipes from the pipes mod below the pedestals ^^
Just make sure that you change the pipe to output at the controller by sneak right clicking the connection point between the pipe and the controller

How does this compare to the hostile neural networks mob farms?
they're both good, hostile networks can be scaled up infinitely as long as you make more models, you only need to kill 6 pigliches for the basic tier and that one will upgrade itself automatically in time to 99%, but drygmies are also great if you don't have the means to kill pigliches just yet, is an early-mid game solution. And is easier to set up and cheaper, because for neural networks you need matrixes aka infinite iron, gold, clay, glass

SOS i can't get the source berry farm to work for my life i have gone through all the comments so many times and still can't find a solution i have made everything in the Pipez mod and Functional storage mod and can't get the berries to move onto the pedestals
Did you make sure that the pipez are pumping out by shift+right clicking with the pipez wrench?

You said you changed the config file so that the loot drops would be faster. In that case, if we don’t do that, would this even be worth it to make, like how slow/fast is it normally?

I would say it's a great mob farm for difficult mobs like the piglich and treasure goblin, it has way lower lag so good for Servers and about the speed there they reduce the speed of Apotheosis spawners so they are actually not that top anymore so the Drygmy is not far off. Also as mentioned there is not really a limit to the Drygmys you could have 4 henges with 50+ Drygmys and speed it up a ton ^^
With more mobs its faster, with more drygmys its faster, i only have one drygmy so i used 6 piglich, had ~200 hearts after an hour, i stopped it cause i know have 700+ piglich heatblocks and, 500 hearts, it is still verry much worth, and its what i used for a long time( still using it consistently cus nothing competes with its space effecincy

How do i check mob loot tables?
search the mobs in the jei and then hit the u key on them and it should bring up any info on said mobs.

Yes when you push them or when there is a mob far away they start to walk around. Theoretically you could build a cage around the hedge if they annoy you ^^

Can't you just take mob swab of mob you want to farm and get IT s egg to spawner I'm shure IT would be easier end more efficient
Sure mob swabs and spawners are always an great option, but in ATM9 they got strongly nerfed sadly. Alternatively the Drygmy system is super compact, easy to expand without one having to worry about conveyors, grinders, lag or spawning limitations. But at the end of its everyone's choice which system they want to use :D
Also treasure goblins are not possible with Spawners ^^

You can also catch the ender dragon and the right click with an empty bottle on the jar to get dragon breath

Dygmys can get you wither skulls thoug and with only one evoker ALL the totems of undying you'll ever need
