I love how everytime they have new music you have hardcore kids from the late 90s who still haven't got the memo over the course of like 5 albums that they are a band big on big style shifts. It's kind of pathetic really. A little behind the times.
And yet they're here at EVERY release. There are bands that have fallen off my radar. I don't flock to all their new releases to express how it's not good anymore...
People who flock to them out of some mistaken artistic importance as critics are at least entertaining. A bunch of talentless hacks wanting a piece of vision.
How is this a banger? It is so mellow it’s like a lullaby. Not criticizing, just want an elaboration on your comment as it confuses me (seriously, no weird internet hate just a conversation)
I’m getting sort of like MGMT kind of feel or something like that (which is ok to me) .. I love afi … but I’m not feeling this one much maybe it’ll grow on me.
I couldn't wait to find you I only ever left to return, return I couldn't wait to find you Smiling, how I'd left you, in fur, black fur At the party, who was left behind? He destroyed his vocal cords after December underground and had surgery. Listen to crash love after December....makes sense. And they still have 3 albums after crash
@@mattkrajnyak9962 yeah but Burials, the Blood Album, and the Missing Man ep they were all great and had strong vocals. I don't think it has anything to do with his limitations right now, but it's more a style choice.
@@ZiddersRooFurry you’d think that person would understand it if they put Sing the Sorrow as their point of no return. I mean by then they had already gone from straight edge hardcore, to horror punk, to post hardcore. AFI should just be seen as a band that changes its sound with every couple of albums.
Afi used to change. That was something I loved about them. After December underground came out they quit changing. They have a pretty predictable sound now. This last album was exactly what I expected
Same here .it felt like they weren't trying or this should have been a hidden track in my opinion should have stayed hidden. An it makes me feel bad saying so because there are hands down my favorite band of all time.this sadly is going to be the second song I will ever skip next to dumb kids . hopefully I won't have to skip any more songs
You like the other songs on the album? I’m meh on the whole album. In fact I’m meh on their whole career since crash love. I try and always listen to their new stuff but I need to recognize that they just aren’t my band anymore. No hate to the band or it’s fans. Just can’t get behind their musical choices anymore. Your not David Bowie and your not Depeche Mode/The Cure, sorry, y’all are AFI. But that’s all the ‘hate’ I will bring. Just not for me. If you love it, rock on and enjoy.
I think the song derives influence from Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division, which aren’t everyone’s cup of tea. I personally love the stuff but it’s not the most accessible stuff necessarily.
You mean AGE the bamd formed in 1992 which was 29 years a go no shit they sound different they are old ass men now you honestly expect them to scream and have insane beats at this age they are clearly making music cause they enjoy it
Not sure why I keep trying to listen to AFI. Haven’t liked them since crash love. Just don’t get it. If you want to make new synth music just make a mew blaqk audio album. Don’t care if I get hate, I think there fire inside is gone. All their music for years now as been boring, generic, and mundane. Maybe one day I’ll stop trying so I no longer get disappointed. Cheers if y’all like this. No hate. It’s their music and they can make whatever makes them happy. It’s just not for me.
This is awful. So bummed.... What happened to afi? Sounds like they literally gave up writing badass songs, and are now just putting random lyrics and horrible music together just to release an album. Compare this to any album or song of their and this entire album is a flop. The views alone prove me right.
I've been consistently weirded out that people who claim to be fans of Davey Havok get so upset at someone being bitter and snarky to them. It's like they are just punking people and don't actually grasp the sentiment of such sentiments of lyrics such as, "Fuck you, very much," among many many many others. It's like it's a bunch of people who didn't get the memo on the music they are listening to. Like you're mad someone is saying you're annoying and calling you out on it? What has Davey been doing all these years. It's odd to be a thin skinned person and a fan.
Can feel the Sisters of Mercy and Joy Division vibes. Love it. AFI is truly versatile.
Joy Division/new order sure. Sisters of Mercy... not so much
Cool 80's goth sound on this one
In the vein of Darkwave and some goth music for sure
Goth??? Sounds like his other band Blaqk Audio 🎉🎉🎉
Man, that bass 🤘🏻😎
Bass and drums are definitely more pronounced on this album…which I love.
Any AFI song driven by bass is always good.
Hunter’s really shined on this album. Some of AFI’s best basslines to date imo
I can still hear the clinking in my sleep
This one took me a few listens to come around and now I can't get enough of it! 😍
GROOOOOVY, baby! -davey 😈
great song, really great!!!!
Omg I love how they've style shifted to goth and post-punk!!!🖤🦇
I listen AfI's music since 12 years ago. Since then they are my favorit band and will be forever. They have left a great impact on me ✨💖✨
yes they really bring it
Same here. Been my favorite since 2003.
Hurray since 93
I keep coming back to this one. Reminds me of Depeche Mode - More Than a Party.
That synth drum is poppinnnnn

LMAOOO
So true. These kids arnt late 90s kids trust me. They're young losers. They are living off our experience not their own
It's an amusing irony, because the views just do them good in terms of marketing. It's all very amusing.
People who flock to them out of some mistaken artistic importance as critics are at least entertaining. A bunch of talentless hacks wanting a piece of vision.
This song is giving me some Halloween vibes
My word
Pleasant
gimme an afi album full of songs like this por favor

This song makes me wanna dance like a Peanuts character.
Love the post punk vibe
Good

2 thumbs up!!!!
80'z goth synth music inspired this song.
😍😍😍😍😍
Death of the party was Keith Buckleys twitter handle...
Now you got me hoping for a Davey ft on an ETID song or Keith ft on an AFI song one day

Here me out. What if this is the sequel to Beautiful Thieves?
Best
Very 80s.
I love this style of music but i never understood what genre of music this falls into
I would say “post-punk.” See Joy Division, The Cure, Sisters of Mercy, and many others.
Was waiting for the song to actually kick off, and it ended. :(
I get Black Audio vibes on this one
this album has one of the weakest David's vocals of all AFI's career... why? He has one of the most amazing voices ever.
He destroyed his vocal cords after December underground and had surgery. Listen to crash love after December....makes sense. And they still have 3 albums after crash
He's also like 45

Go conduct a symphony with all your important musical knowledge and clout.

Wow, haven't listened much to AFI after Sing the Sorrow. Hard to recognize them besides the vocals. Kinda groovy, but not really my type.
Everything after sing the sorrow was not afi.

What the hell these guys are still a thing? I haven't heard a song from them since I was like 13.. I'm 27 now.

Does anyone remember when afi was afi? Like the art of drowning or black sails in the sunset. Something bad had happened.

Crash Love was amazing.
I liked crash love! These new songs are pretty weak though. Like dulceria best of the 6-7 I've heard.
one good album actually bands evolve no change and the same not what it’s about
Crash is probably my least favorite album. That or very proud of ya.
Lemme guess.. you loooooooved sing the sorrow.
Come on Davey stop repeating the same basic stuff. Your vocabulary is way better than this just come on man
