- I got an almost full bottle of Vintage Avon Wild Country Aftershave (circa 1996) from my aunt. After doing a bit of research on Avon Products, I’ve discovered the very cool collectible aftershave decanters that Avon has produced during the years. Ill be showing done of them during todays shave. Currently they are very reasonably priced on eBay, but I’m sure the prices will not last.

I remember those decanters! My mom had various Avon products around for years when I was growing up, and she bought me various colognes, etc. during that time. I was too young to shave, but I do remember them and the catalogs. Cool that they can still be found. That giant razor decanter is awesome!

Things were a lot slower back in day without social media, cell phones etc. it was kind of a special to spend time with the Avon lady going through the catalog and then looking forward to when she would be making her delivery. You brought back some good memories, thanks Ken.

My very first aftershave was Wild Country in a solid gold Cadillac. I still have it. A lot of the gold has chipped off over the years. I was around 12 when I got it for Christmas, I am now 71.

My mom and aunt bought Avon stuff for years. Not from a door to door person. It was usually an a friend that just sold them to coworkers and friends and such. I know my dad a cool car decanter. I remember having a kids shampoo in the shape of a football player.

I picked up the shave brush and DE razor decanter at an antique shop in my area a couple years ago! Really cool pieces to display.
I smelled a bottle of Clint by Avon in that same shop and was flooded with memories of my late grandfather. I didn’t know it until I smelled it, but that was what he wore every day. I picked that up as well. Successful trip for sure!

Nice shave Ken! I have somewhere around 100 Avon decanters. Some full, some empty and some with decanted splashes. I can count at least 12 different scents and there were over 300 different decanters! I haven't gathered any in a while, but did buy an Avon Gentlemen's Regiment shave mug with shave soap. Great soap in my opinion! This is a rabbit hole for sure!! 😂

Great video, Ken, thanks. You really set the Wayback machine on this one. My aunt loved to give Avon gifts and she gave me one of the car-themed after shaves in the mid-70s. Don't remember the scent, but it was pretty cool. And the Trac-II was my razor-of-choice for decades (especially with Schick blades, when I could find them). That's what I left behind when I switched to DE razors a couple years ago. Thanks, Bro'! Stay safe, my friend!

My mother used to sell Avon back in the 70's. I remember having all kinds of soaps that smelled like Sandalwood and Teaberry all in different shapes with a rope cast into them. I've got several decanters like the "Spirt of St. Louis" airplane with Windjammer cologne in it and several cars and such. My favorite is one that I got for Christmas that was a milk white "Snoopy" decanter with a blue baseball cap on it. I still have it full of splash on and in the original gift box that looks like a Christmas present. I use a "Capital Building" decanter to age my Pinaud Clubman after shave. I'm always running across old decanters that I forgot I even had. Love the trip down memory lane. William C. from central Indiana.

Fantastic shave Ken. I used to wear Wild Country cologne back in the day. I'd love to find a decanter for my Aqua Velva ice blue aftershave splash. You should keep going through your aunt's house. You might find some old razors that your uncle had back in the day.

Avon Wild Country is a favorite! In the same ballpark as Clubman Pinaud, IMHO.:) I didn't know Avon had razor handles like that! Wow! Thanks for the heads up on that! Ken, just to clarify, at the time I bought the Wild Country Splash NOS, Avon did not have it for sale. About a year later (or less than a year) they brought it back.:) So, yes, I grabbed some of the new bottled stuff, too!:) I'm a fan of Wild Country.:) Thanks for a terrific, informative video! Man Ken that took me down memory lane. My mother was an avid Avon buyer. I remember her putting a cap full of skin so soft in our bath. When we were kids. We had those bottles all over the house none of them were ever used. I think she just bought them for decoration lol. Great video thank you again for bringing back some great memories.

Hi Ken - I've found a number of the Avon aftershaves along the way, and as mentioned many are in unique bottles. One is a green army jeep ("Spice", a ringer for Old Spice) and another is "Deep Woods", in a Bloodhound Pipe. One really good one that I have in the original box is Everest, a really nice scent. Definitely remember Avon from my childhood - the signature "Avon Calling" the sales people used became a running joke people would use when visiting friends.

Wonderful shave Ken! You took me in the past when my mother was alive and young she was an Avon buyer! And this Lady who cames to us was from Italy and very kindly, I have always something get. It was a nice time a better time. I don't know how younger I am from you Ken. This year year is my 50 birthday. But our childhood in many things was much better as from my children.

Blast from the past, Ken! I can still close my eyes and smell the cologne in that old antique car decanter. Had one in my sock drawer as a boy that an old aunt had given me for Christmas one year. I parceled it out on special occasions like liquid gold.

Our Avon lady was my mother's friend from Bingo. Marie. She was our babysitter when we were kids also. Once my brother and I reached 13 every Christmas came those decanters of aftershave and various grooming products from Avon. This has been a great reminiscence . By coincidence I recently bought some new Wild Country. I use it on the weekends mostly. My wife likes it. Thanks Ken.

When i was a kid my sister would let me play with her husbands avon jaguar decanter also in grade school i remember this kid getting avon soaps shaped like a guy on a snowmobile in red, gold and blue colours. I really enjoyed seeing your avon stuff Ken!

Great shave Ken. Avon, a name from the past for me. A lady who lived nine doors down from our home used to be an agent for Avon. She would post the catalogue through the letterbox, and they would be a card in the catalogue saying when she would come and collect it. There was an order form in it which you filled in and she would order what you wanted. A week or two later and she would fetch the order to the door. From memory you could get shampoos, bubble baths as well as make up from what I can remember.
They have a bunch of stuff for sure. I even ordered a vintage 1970’s catalog from eBay
My grandfather picked up a couple of the automobile decanters at a yard sale. I still remember that day and somewhat remember the smell of them. My mom bought me one of my first colognes from Avon and my wife bought me HisStory when she got her first job. I’m in my mid-thirties just for reference.

Always had Hai Karate in the bath room vanity of my father's shower - I don't think he really ever used it. My all time favorite Avon cologne decanter was the pheasant - apparently there was a couple different designs. If I had some extra space around my sink area I'd have one (or three)!
I used to see a LOT of Avon at flea markets and garage sales back in the 80's and 90's. We always seemed to have neighbors that either sold Avon or Tupperware.

As I recall, my favorites were their "Rally Sport," smelled similar to Old Spice, and "Wild Country."
We had quite a a collection of the various decanters like the Model "T," the Liberty Bell, and so on...

Avon had a line called Gentlemen's Regiment with a collectible shaving mug, a brush, a bottle of Wild Country balm and a bottle of Black Suede balm. The Wild Country was a much better scent. It's a pretty cool looking line.

Grew up with a mother who sold Avon so had a lot of those. I have a couple left one I can’t place what it was. It’s a ships EOT or chadburn it’s missing the top that went over the cap and it say Stanley home products on bottom it smells pretty good just not sure what it actually is and I cannot find anything that matches it.

Hey Ken! There is an antique mall not terribly far from me that has a vendor selling those vintage Avon aftershave! He probably has well over a hundred of them NOS in original boxes!! All are $3-$5!! You never know...after this video, he may sell out, 😂😂😂!! Thanks for this vintage shave! For a future shave, are you able to use a Gillette single ring?? I recently purchased a 5 razor lot that included a single ring AND a DOUBLE RING!!! Couldn't believe it! The most amazing thing was I only paid $27.22 total price!!!!
