- I’ve used many of TATARA products in the past, and today I’m trying one of their newest. This is a very cool, well built adjustable shaving brush, the MURAMASA. The knot or loft can be adjusted with a turn of the handle. Providing a tighter knot for thin stubborn whiskers, or a looser knot for thick lathering.
I’ll also be using Creed Green Irish Tweed as a cologne in today’s shave. This is the first time I’m using Green Irish Tweed on camera.

It’s a type of brush that allows the user to adjust the length of the bristles, also known as the loft. This allows the user to customize the firmness or softness of the bristles to suit their specific needs. For example, a softer setting may be more suitable for creating a rich lather, while a firmer setting may be better for scrubbing and cleaning the skin.

EXFOLIATE & ENHANCE LATHER
Choose settings 1 to 3 by turning the handle dial: opt for exfoliation with setting 1 or enjoy a rich lather with setting 3. This brush maximizes the potential of various brush hair types, allowing you to fully utilize each hair option according to your preference.
Using a dial located on the bottom of the brush, and featuring a one-piece design, simply rotate the dial to switch between settings 1-3, which are:
⚫ Setting 1 - Hair length 48 mm⚪ Setting 2 - Hair length 53 mm⚫ Setting 3 - Hair length 58 mm
To remove the knot, rotate clockwise beyond setting 3.
INTERCHANGEABLE KNOTS

Hey Ken, Creed says that Green Irish Tweed was originally formulated as a private blend for actor Carey Grant and was only released to the public after his death. I have Irish Tweed, there was a little card inside the box explaining its origins. Very interesting. Great scent.

Very nice shave, Ken, thank you! Can't go wrong with a DE89. On TV shows, if you like police procedurals, one of the best I've seen comes from the UK, called "Shetland". Highly recommended. Have a great weekend!

I agree that synthetic brushes have come a long way. I just bought a 26 mm G5C knot from AP Shave Co. I chose a cheap handle to keep the cost down. It has the look and feel of a badger brush. It has soft tips and good backbone.

Great shave Ken. Good old Edwin Jagger DE 89 is always a favorite. I recently saw Top Gun Maverick which was great and I want to see Openheimer. I'm a WW2 history buff myself and there's not ben much about the atomic bomb or the events leading up to it.

All the water go into the handle when adjusting it, that's why it "holds" alot of water.. not a good design, would never buy that gimmick
