Timestamp?
Every song on this album could be considered one of the best songs of all time
Yes
“Oh your generous loan to me, your crippling interest” such a brilliant line my god I hope Issac comes back eventually
I have a feeling he will. Probably a few years down the line. He’s had massive acclaim and success from showing people his vulnerability and that pressure can be too much for people to handle. He’s got two award-winning records under his belt before he’s 25 years old. I’m glad he found the courage to step back for a while, I’d rather that than another Kurt Cobain or Ian Curtis to mourn.
My favourite album of the year. Joy to watch this vid 😍
Hey Jon
yooo Jon
Hellfire : a new challenger has entered the arena
based Jon
Basketball shoes is such an anthem. Growing to be one of my favourite songs ever
It has grown to be my favorite all time.
SNOWGLOBES DONT SHAKE ON THEIR OOOOOOooowwnnnnn
i dont really like snowglobes and basketball shoes but i probably need to listen more for them to grow on me
for real!! i honestly feel like i am in love with this song. something happens to my heart everytime i listen to it. :')
Favourite Album of the year, I just can’t stop listening to it 🐜
Reminded me about arcade fires early stuff and my youth
@@alexanderb3340 same, I cant stop playing this record.
to me the drumming on Snowglobes is meant to feel like the chaotic flurry inside a shaken snow globe, which eventually settles and returns to it’s original state
I have never felt the way about music like I did when I heard this album for the first time. Just an insanely beautiful experience and feat in songwriting
Bro for real. First time I listened I was in complete awe.
yo its mc ride
Check out black midi , They’re good friends with BCNR
@@MegaCPfan101 love black midi they're insane
yo it's mc ride
He's actually completely right about the Charli line. Isaac wrote the line about having wet dreams about Charli XCX.
thats so deep
The whole song was about that initially lol
The line's meaning has changed over time. It mostly signifies being unable to let go of someone that you know you need to forget. There actually isn't much in the song to tie it down to the whole wet dream idea.
so relatable
@@madremorelos1573 they changed up a lot of the lyrics on official release
LOVE that you picked this record. Even if it doesn't do as well as the rap videos, know that these are cherished and loved.
For me nothing in this album hits as hard as Good Will Hunting. That song is an 11/10
Broooo same, truly spectacular song
Fuck yeah I couldn't believe how many people were calling it the worst song at first lol like dude what??
tbh it is my least favorite but it is still basically flawless
It's my least favourite song on the album lol I don't get the love for it at all
@@lucasglanville2880 SOMEONE doesn’t hav billie eilish style 🤭
This album just feels larger than life man, probably the best modern rock album I’ve heard since Radiohead’s In Rainbows, it is just packed with emotions and instrumentally wise it’s just top notch. This was a great reaction as well
It's not necessarily my style of vocals, But I the musician ship is top notch. I don't think it's on the same level as in rainbows. But it's great possibly best of the 2020s
You gotta show your dad some Fleet Foxes, Big Thief, and Joanna Newsom so he knows what good modern folk rock sounds like (not the Lumineers)
This! Helplessness Blues is one of my favorite albums of all time. It was one of the first albums I've listened to front to back when I was starting to get into music and it has given me a greater appreciation for music.
YES Helplessness Blues and Dragon New Warm Mountain I Believe In You i'd love so so much
I need a Ys reaction so bad
those 3 artists are S TIER
He should be shown Mumford & Sons, I'm sure online music communities will love that
Very unexpected reaction but can't wait to see how Kevin feels about this record! I remember listening to it for the first time and being slightly confused by it as I had never heard anything like it before but with more re-listens and time passing by it just clicked and it's now probably my favorite non hip-hop record of the year. Absolutely incredible soundscape, the lyrics are very personal and the delivery is incredible, you can just feel the emotion through his voice!
I’ve said it and before, and I’ll say it again: this album will be talked about in 10 years like In The Aeroplane Over The Sea is now. Really glad to see you guys review this one!
Nope
Semen stains the mountaintops
That’s because it’s basically the same album haha
@@nicokorkiamaki2991 What a thoughtful and nuanced response.
@@MatthewDakeTerraform you're welcome. This album is good but it's not a classic by any means. There's no single song that is rememberable all the way through unlike ITAOTS. Also, the emotional impact isn't nearly as profound. It goes to the point of wankery even at times. This album is great only because it's over hyped by nerds from RYM. BCNR first albul is also better than Ants From Up There
This is THE album of the decade so far. So hyped to see Kevin’s reaction
Nope
@@nicokorkiamaki2991 which one is then?
@@javierenguitagil1357 Not this one. Maybe Denzel Curry's new album, maybe new Black Midi when it comes out or the new Artificial Brain album.
@@nicokorkiamaki2991 you can't say that it's not the album of the decade so far comparing it to one that isn't even out yet
@@nicokorkiamaki2991 I can't talk about the others you mentioned cause I haven't listened to them yet tho
The drumming on Snow Globes sounds like one of the early Animal Collective tracks where they just let Panda Bear go absolutely insane on the drums
I LOVE BIG THIEF , would love to see you guys do a reaction to their last record or any of their others, I bet Kevin would love Adrianne's incredible uniquely beautiful voice!
Id rather they listen to her solo album tho, much more consistence
Big love for big thief
The smile on Kevin's face when he unexpectedly predicts the drop on Basketball Shoes gave me so much joy
Just showed this album to my parents a few days ago - insane timing! Definitely my favorite of the year so far, as well
Hellfire by black midi, they’re best friends with BCNR check it out
How did your parents respond to it?
@@kurthutcho2942 They were massively impressed; both of them are more into bands like Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, Jane’s Addiction, etc. so this was definitely a dive into something fresh. They both want to listen again with more of a focus on dissecting the lyrics, so I’d say they surely enjoyed it!
@@MegaCPfan101 Will do! Thank you!
@@katemcbride717 Alice In Chains is dope
I do kinda forget how weird isaacs lyrics seem when you havent spent ages looking into them and trying to figure out what they mean
I would be very, very surprised if an album comes out this year that was better than this. And this is coming from someone who wasn't as head over heels for their debut as most. This album floored me. Glad to see a reaction to it.
Why though? Is it the general vibe? Don’t get me wrong, I like it too. But is it groundbreaking? Maybe I need to listen to it again
Hellfire - black midi will surpass. Watch this space.
@@alexanderb3340 For me, there’s just so much to it from the structure of the songs, to the pacing throughout the album, to the mix and production, to the general sound of the album. It just excels in all areas. I wouldn’t necessarily say it pushes the boundaries and does wear its influences on its sleeve (can hear a lot of Arcade Fire influence) but does so well in what it’s trying to do.
@@alexanderb3340 the music is just amazing.
Hellfire is coming biatch
There's just so much to unpack in this album. The highlights of the tracks, like the energy of Chaos Space Marine, the emotion and the kick drum coming in on Bread Song, The lyrics on Concorde let alone all the other tracks. I can't stop listening to it. Reminds me a lot of the orchestra feel from the early work of Arcade Fire, much like funeral with the atmosphere and build up in the tracks. Really glad you both checked this one out, and a great video as per usual. Knew Kevin would be a fan of this one
Been waiting for this one, EASILY one of the best albums of the past 10 years
Just listened to it today and it lived up to all the hype. The lyrics, the saxophone, the bass, the vocal sadness, the vibe, the right track list, the album cover, the album name, everything just comes together and it’s so sad and perfect. They’re like the modern day Neutral milk hotel
@@syntheticreality549 I don't get neutral milk hotel at all tbh. Ants From Up There is much more like Arcade Fire's Funeral and For The First Time is more like Slint.
Hell yes. Would love to see more experimental/post rock reactions!
Swans next XD
I agree, they should react to Gmail and the Restraining Orders
@@matiasacevedo5557 hell no
@@matiasacevedo5557 let's start with other Death Grips first lol
Need Black Midi reaction 🙏
If you're doing rock records let's hear:
Turnstile - Glow On
Parquet Courts - Wide Awake
HMLTD - West of Eden
Just some of my favorites from the past couple years. Also, I feel like Kevin would get SUPER down with some LCD Soundsystem
Kevin would absolutely love Wide Awake.
Would kill to see an LCD Soundsystem reaction. Definitely my favorite band
I need them to react to some parquet courts, they're my absolute favorite band
Glow on grew to be one of my favorite records, would love them to react to
Yes wide awake!
Love that just as they’re going to start listening bread song they instead go into a 2 minute conversation about bread😂
Never stop loving the fact that you can do this with your dad, man. What a blessing. What. A. Blessing.
This is one of the albums that I know will forever be in my top 10. I've listened to it 100 times and it still rips tears out of me on every listen
Been waiting for this one since spotting For the First Time on the back wall!! Thank you guys!
I go to a concert of theirs in two days so the timing on this is perfect for me

I saw them live about a month ago and the new songs are fantastic, you’ll have a great time it was the best concert experience i’ve ever had

@@harryhodgson8091 is there a new lead vocalist? Or do they do instrumental stuff now
I’ve never heard them before, so thanks for the introduction. Good Will Hunting is my favorite so far. As always, great video. You two are everything!
YESSS I’ve been waiting for this one, love you guys!
Easily AOTY for me. Every song is great, but The Place, Concorde, and Basketball Shoes are the big highlights for me.
dont forget abt Chaos Space Marine and that BONKERS tempo change
There's something comforting watching you two. Especially when you're listening to such a smash hit of an album.
Thanks for the content.
THANK YOU for listening to this I’ve been requesting for months
Been waiting for this one. Been obsessed since release ♥️
Fantastic album and video. You guys never miss.
Glad you did this album. The more I've listened to it it just gets better. Such a unique sound.

Everytime you guys react to artists I've never heard of, I still watch because I want to find new stuff to listen to and with this video I now am enjoying black country new road ❤
Top 10 album of all time for me, happy to see y’all reacting to it🙂
Really hope you guys check out their debut! It’s an amazing album
reaction of 'Sunglasses' would be epic
Your pops reactions to all the songs were great. The chills and the almost “I can’t believe what I’m hearing right now” sounds
Glad to see yall again gonna be a first listen for me today
I've literally been fucking wanting this more than anything in the world. So so happy you guys did this, and I am looking forward to watching this on repeat. Maybe my favorite album of all time.

kevin would love the drums on there, morgan is so good
All 3 black midi albums
So glad you did this one !
I have been waiting for this for such a long time.
Have you guys considered making these into podcasts? I love listening to you guys and your tangents and anecdotes alongside good music
This album has quickly become one of my top 5s of all time. I know that's bold to say, but I've listened to it so many times and have been able to appreciate every second of it, there's hardly any albums I can say that about. This album means so much to me, and it also helps that my best friend loves it just as much as I do, so we jam to it together all the time and it's just the sweetest thing in the world. I hope this album becomes a landmark in alt music history, and I think it'll age very well.
thank you so much for doing this
wanted to see his reaction to this so bad, so stoked to watch this
The blend of symphonic elements with the post-punk opens up so many creative elements that bcnr just KNOW how to tap into. Album of the year.
So excited for this one

I WAS WAITING FOR THIS
IVE BEEN WAITING SO LONG FOR THIS
I hadn't heard about this band or record, so this was a fun way to be introduced to them. What a wild ride.
Love this. Got to do some Sufjan now. The National Boxer or High Violet would be great too.
This album is one of those special ones that knocked me off of my feet the way an album does every 5 years or so. A month or so after this came out (I had never heard of BC,NR before), I was sick and alone in my dorm room for an entire week. As I was laying on the couch, I came across this album and decided that I would try to give it a full listen despite feeling awful. I was severely unprepared for the glory that this album brings. Throughout the album, I found the physical pain of my sickness resonating well with the somber or sad lyrics. I felt the emptiness of my usually lively dorm room echoing those same feelings. But at the same time the depth of the musicality in these songs brought me so much joy and life. As I listened, I stood up and danced, sat down and Cried, and stared off into space contemplating every sound and line in the songs. This is a special record, and I am so glad so many others feel the same way.
As for other albums that hit me this hard, I have a few:
Illinois by Sufjan Stevens
For Emma, Forever ago by Bon Iver
Wild Go by Dark Dark Dark
An Awesome Wave by Alt-J
BEEN WAITING FOR THIS!!!!
One of my favourite albums of the year! Probably got dethroned by "Ugly Season" from Perfume Genius, would love to see you react to that one!
Also hearing Connor describe cinnamon toast like it was some private recipe is very funny.
I WAS WAITING FOR THIS ONEEEEE
YESSSSS BEEN WAITING FOR THIS
Please do some black midi. Their new album comes out in around a week. Love the content as always!
Holy shit dude I just learned about this album like last week and it’s so fucking sick. The place where he inserted the blade has been on repeat for the last week.
Conner! It’s been great watching you and your dads interactions. Loved your catalog so far. I would be awesome to see you two look at the two Harry Mack Ep’s. I think you both would really appreciate how awesome they are.
I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS FOR SO LONG TSYM
I haven’t heard of this band before. I’m into it. Thanks for the review and putting these guys on my radar
If you take requests, there’s another British group that I think you may enjoy. Ed Tullet has a project called Hailaker. Their self-titled album from 2019 is one of my favorite indie/folk albums at the moment. If you’re familiar with Novo Amor, they’re pretty similar, stylistically. You spun some Bon Iver not too long ago - relatively similar vibe. There’s a track on the 2019 album titled “Coma/Smoke” that is, in my eyes, a masterwork of composition. Incredible piece of art.
y’all have to listen to any shape you take by indigo de souza. my favorite album of last year - an absolute earworm. this was my first exposure to this album and i’m in love, thanks for always bringing the best content!! love y’all
