@@Tlatoanimeh oh awesome! Unfortunately for me I didn't know about him until this series but glad to hear that! Thanks to this channel I'll definitely be following his career a lot more closely. I'm just really impressed by the way he approaches a fight and his knowledge of fighting techniques. I'd like to think a fighter would pay top dollar for his time to help them prepare for an opponent.
This dude is going to be one of the greatest coaches to ever live. I have so much respect for this man. He always says we. "We drilled this." "We didnt like that idea." Because he is humble enough to know he didnt get where he is by himself. Hats off.
Stuff like this really makes me wonder if I can become a decent Amateur Fighter. Combat Sports have proven to be several times more complicated than I ever thought growing up. Seriously dude, mad props for how you prepped for this fight
Coaches do most of the strategizing for you. So as long as you follow what your coach says and understands the points they're making, you *can* become a decent Amateur fighter. Fighting is a team sport. Unless you're someone like Nicolino Locche. Then you can smoke and skip training all you like lol.
@@NyangisKhan lol must be nice being him. I got ADHD so I gotta show up to the gym more often to make sure everything sticks. Hopefully I’ll be ready to execute those plans
Love this series. I would love to see more from him. His explanations and breakdowns are awesome. Hope I can get a in person lesson from from him one day!
"Oooooo this guy !! I remember, he is the best full contact striker in the world !!". That's how people probably react when they see him. He is modest and humble, that's how a warrior should behave, awesome 👍👍👍💯👌👌.
Exactly. But that is a tactic also, whether he realizes it or not. He's so busy giving props to the other guy, that it strokes his ego and makes him forget that Varga himself is a beast.
The practical simplicity with which you see and explain the science of the fight is frightfully easily understood by anyone and that, my friend, is the most basic requirement for being a great coach. I've been coaching boxing for many years and I wish I had the capacity to explain fight techniques and concepts in such a concise, simplified, and detailed manner. Thank you for this video; I've enjoyed it so much.
I love the way that you explain the tactics that you used in the fight. Gives a better grasp of what is happening in the fighters head, while they are fighting.
I really like your scientific approach as opposed to crude fights, this is like playing chess but with mistakes being both physically and mentally painful. Great job. What you do is inspiring on many levels.
Brilliant video. Brilliant channel anyway but coming from the fighter themselves actually giving honest and informed information just takes it to the next level.
I'm no fighter but I do enjoy your videos, style, and lack of ego. So many have big egos and something to prove but you seem tactical, cerebral, professional.
There are many champions across all forms of fighting, but very few of them are true ambassadors to the sport, and role-models to the next generation. You tick all the boxes, and that is so rare. You are intelligent, very well spoken, respectful and humble. Thanks so much for these videos, I have learnt so much from you. Respect!
Really awesome to see this, thank you so much. I don't really follow MMA nor fight, but your breakdowns are an inspiration to me. Some years ago I started doing a very amateur version of video analysis for hobbyist medieval fighters and your approach to fights and analysis really gets me thinking. Awesome, and thank you Gabriel for being so open to share your style and training notes!
Their appearance are very striking in the ring. Kevin had neon green and pink shorts, colorful hair and tattoos, while Gabriel seems just like a shredded office worker.
Thanks for sharing, as usual, Gabe. Much appreciated! Would you, by chance, have any interest in breaking down one of your losses? Perhaps share with us how you pinpoint potential mistakes and the steps you would take to prevent yourself from making them in the future?
Pre-planning, training and executing it as planned. ....that requires a lot of technical knowledge about your skills and your opponents. Respect and admiration for Gabriel Varga for the work, discipline and dedication he puts into every opponent he faces.
Great video, helps people like me who just watch MMA but doesnt really think of the mechanics to understand it more. Hope you would make some videos of other fighters either MMA or kickboxing and do a breakdown to how they counter their opponent and get the W. Thanks and cheers mate!
Amazing discussion totally transparent humble,I wonder in this age of digital replay how everyone/ anyone can review reassess re apply,Kevin can watch this anyone can learn and re evaluate anything, this tho is honest work. Thanks
One of the reasons GV is the best pro fighter on UA-cam is because he breaks down both his wins and losses with equal amounts of insight, humility and honor.
Love these videos & the insight shared. Excellent content. It's obvious you have an incredible team behind you that really understands the value of taking the time to study your opponents' fights, developing a game plan & training those tactics. Imo not enough fighters do this unless they're pro & even then some still don't. In today's digital age even amateurs should be doing this as there's a good chance you can find at least 1 of your opponent's fights online. The pay off when done properly is huge. Even if for some reason one doesn't develop effective tactics to train on at the very least the fighter can have a decent idea of what they will face from their opponent. Thx for the video!🥊🥋
I'm really kinda messed up that I'm just now finding out about you; you seem like a really super awesome person and ultra talented fighter! Stay blessed!
That knee to punch does feel natural and powerful. Both the kneeing leg and the corresponding arm (say left knee & left arm) and then extension of both (leg back & arm forward... it does have a nice umph + a surprise element.

Fantastic series. So great to hear someone who fought at such a high level break down techniques they used in such a way as this.
It’s nice to hear a really concise breakdown, thought out by a team, and not just laid down as one long bragging session.
I am actually impressed by ref there. On first punch where he was not defending any more he jumped in. Must be really hard and responsible job.
