Problem is that Sun Tzu strategy was for war, in war the loser goes home in a body bag. There is not round two. In a sport the loser can always come back for round 2. What can you do when Lerdsila comes back for round two? This time he is the one who's seen and study all your tactic and all your strategy.

Even in Chess, where the battle is ostensibly quiet coz of the players just moving tiny pieces and just sitting around. In actuality, the pressure is there and it is the number 1 cause of making mistakes. As it is in fighting sports like mma, if one cracks under pressure, one would lose the game instantly. As it was in Lerdsila's opponents, they succumb to his mind games. Accompanied with great dexterity in evasion + taunting is what made Lerdsila the great fighter that he is. But of course, it is easier said than done😅, to become a good fighter like that. One must be fully committed to training

The advantage Varga and his team had was the huge number of fights Lerdsila did they could analyse and work hard on the mental part and the strategy, great job from all of them and insane fight!
Why do I feel like this was one of Lerdsila's favorite fights? Like, I love it when in a game I simply enjoy, I run into someone that really challenges me, even if I lose.

Fascinating! While I have great admiration and respect for Lerdsila, Vargas has given both a scientific and artistic explanation of his strategies vs. this seemingly unstoppable Muay Thai martial artist. Great job!
This is such a level, mature way prep for physical combat. This is the kind of zen you get from a true master of their craft. This was such great content!
This dude is actually intelligent. He analyzed Lerdsila's strengths and think of the flaws in those strengths. For example, at 5:07, he talks about how good Lerdsila was with the fade-backs and he figured that if he was doing that, his legs will be locked while performing that so he should counter using low kicks. He thinks about the fight scenarios of what he should be doing if Lerdsila does something. This is an good example of critical thinking.
I actually was at this event and just assumed he got "lucky" with that spinning back fist. What an incredible level of pre-fight preparation and a well earned victory. Oooooyyyyeeee, Saweedacup.
I watched this fight live when I was doing Muay Thai, I knew nothing about Thai fighters, and this was my first and only pro fight I watched live. Lerdsila was in my gym training the night before this fight, I remembered watching him tossing the trainers and fighters in my gym like tossing rag dolls without breaking a sweat. Then he got defeated by some other fighter on stage the next night. That was a huge moment for me, it made me realized how much levels there is to this art. I never know how big or great of a fighters they were until today, and this new understanding only made me appreciate this fight breakdown even more, hopefully you can bring in more fighter to break down their fights in the future as I really enjoy this type of video format.
There is another thing at work here too. In German we say "overconfidence comes before the downfall". One fighter clearly didn't prepare as much as the other one and the reason is likely found in this old German saying.
This guy uses We to credit his whole team for helping him prep for the fight. He is clear and concise with his explanations. He shows the importance of preparing for the fight. Clearly respects his opponent by analysing, it shows he takes his opponent very seriously, unlike some fighters who feel they already have it all without analysing their opponent much.
This reminds of the final Boss of Mortal Combat, I literally lost 100 times before I knew all his moves and beat him. He fought Lerdsilla 100 during film and practice and probably lost 100 times until he and his team had the perfect plan to defeat the final Boss in real life.
I love how you respect him. Both amazing fighters. All the tricks, all the fights you have to come all the way down and have a solid defense and stop flinching and adapting to his tricks. Dont get baited and force him to meet you. Very smart.

Proof that professional fighting isn't just strength or speed or whatever: it's a combination of several elements, among them intelligence (e.g. good strategy), discipline, teamwork (coach, trainer etc.) and mental resilience. Well deserved win against a very good fighter.
Tbh I had no idea fighters went into such depth before a fight. This could be that I don't watch fights at all. So I don't really know what goes into them. However, your break down of how you train for each individual opponent has given me a new found respect for fighters. Thank you, and congrats on your victory!
That's why boxing is called the sweet science and it's 2 gloves. Thai boxing is that ×4 when it comes to comexity and the psychological game theory and technique. Martial arts as a sports game is one of the best mentally and physically. But the practice of Martial Arts is so much more, it's about being the best most amazing smart, kind, strong, thoughtful, compassionate, version of your self you possibly can, then surpassing those expectations at every possible opportunity.
It's not just fighters. I think in all competitive sports people watch a lot of videos and do a lot of prep. At least in the highest professional settings.
Knowing what to do and having the discipline to put it into action are often two different things. Mad respect to Varga for putting it all together on such a difficult opponent.
I like how not once did he say anything negative about Lerdsila. Everything made sense from a unbiased technical standpoint. Great review! I have tremendous respect for both fighters. The downfall of having so many wins, is that the world is going to study that person's techniques until a counter is invented, tried, tested, and proven effective in an actual match.

4:23 Transforming some small bad events into moments of focus, through preparation. When that bad event arrives, and your mind goes "oh, I'm prepared for this! This is good! My training is good. Everything's going to be all right." An entire TED could be done on that topic alone. I learned that in combat sports and have used it my entire life at work.
he's also been fighting at a very high level of kickboxing for several years now so knows how to approach the mental game as well. but i imagine you are somewhat adept at this as well

I came across with lerdzilla a couple of days ago and I took that guy as an inspiration, as something I needed to show my 11-year-old son who is a tennis player with some future in the sport. I was so impressed and preparing the correct speech to show my son this video of a fighter who looks unbeatable (Lerdzilla). But now, I just met the guy who (😲WTF???) beat him and found it's even MORE AMAZING and INSPIRATIONAL. I paid close attention to your strategy and learned how no matter how unbeatable someone may seem...there's always a way. Well done! Well fought! You both guys are unique! There's about a decade of things to perfect in this video, I cannot believe how knowledge and wisdom dense this video is. Had to come out of the shower while listening to it to write this comment. As a shorter fighter who uses a Mike Zambidis, peek-a-boo hybrid, and who never thought about stepping back, his advice on taking lead kicks is going to keep my tummy soooo much less sore than usual.

Fighters like Lerdsilla are similar to Muhammad Ali, they love to use their footwork and head movements. They can be quite frustrating , but just like smoking Joe Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali. He did it by constantly applying pressure, with the constant head movements and the heart of a lion.

Everybody figures figures you out in the end , no matter how good you are. Someone out there is always watching all your videos all day over and over , analyze everything you do down to the last details. You gonna get few matches where, you feel someone knows you like the back of your hands, and keep tagging you so many times in the match. If this video is already out there, Lerdsilla is already adjusting, so this by no means will work again as a solid tactic going forward.
Pretty hard not to have mad respect for someone this talented and who is obviously not full of ego or narcissistic. Very articulate and intelligent dude as well. Impressive.

The advantage Varga and his team had was the huge number of fights Lerdsila did they could analyse and work hard on the mental part and the strategy, great job from all of them and insane fight!

This kind of shit only exists in movies, in reality everyone would prefer to keep a winning streak, you can learn every time you win too, you can win differently with a different opponent, you learn different things.

though i dont know if lerdsila found this to be that enjoyable, pretty sure he realized the whys and hows of what his opponent was doing and you saw him get a little irritated near the end, not cuz he was losing, but because he wasnt able to do his usual shenanigans
but im sure now he at very least looks back fondly on this fight since no self respecting professional wouldnt love the opportunity to get even better, even if youre already at the top

This dude is actually intelligent. He analyzed Lerdsila's strengths and think of the flaws in those strengths. For example, at 5:07, he talks about how good Lerdsila was with the fade-backs and he figured that if he was doing that, his legs will be locked while performing that so he should counter using low kicks. He thinks about the fight scenarios of what he should be doing if Lerdsila does something. This is an good example of critical thinking.

I watched this fight live when I was doing Muay Thai, I knew nothing about Thai fighters, and this was my first and only pro fight I watched live. Lerdsila was in my gym training the night before this fight, I remembered watching him tossing the trainers and fighters in my gym like tossing rag dolls without breaking a sweat. Then he got defeated by some other fighter on stage the next night. That was a huge moment for me, it made me realized how much levels there is to this art. I never know how big or great of a fighters they were until today, and this new understanding only made me appreciate this fight breakdown even more, hopefully you can bring in more fighter to break down their fights in the future as I really enjoy this type of video format.
There is another thing at work here too. In German we say "overconfidence comes before the downfall". One fighter clearly didn't prepare as much as the other one and the reason is likely found in this old German saying.

This guy uses We to credit his whole team for helping him prep for the fight. He is clear and concise with his explanations. He shows the importance of preparing for the fight. Clearly respects his opponent by analysing, it shows he takes his opponent very seriously, unlike some fighters who feel they already have it all without analysing their opponent much.
This reminds of the final Boss of Mortal Combat, I literally lost 100 times before I knew all his moves and beat him. He fought Lerdsilla 100 during film and practice and probably lost 100 times until he and his team had the perfect plan to defeat the final Boss in real life.

I love how you respect him. Both amazing fighters. All the tricks, all the fights you have to come all the way down and have a solid defense and stop flinching and adapting to his tricks. Dont get baited and force him to meet you. Very smart.

Proof that professional fighting isn't just strength or speed or whatever: it's a combination of several elements, among them intelligence (e.g. good strategy), discipline, teamwork (coach, trainer etc.) and mental resilience. Well deserved win against a very good fighter.
Tbh I had no idea fighters went into such depth before a fight. This could be that I don't watch fights at all. So I don't really know what goes into them. However, your break down of how you train for each individual opponent has given me a new found respect for fighters. Thank you, and congrats on your victory!
That's why boxing is called the sweet science and it's 2 gloves. Thai boxing is that ×4 when it comes to comexity and the psychological game theory and technique. Martial arts as a sports game is one of the best mentally and physically. But the practice of Martial Arts is so much more, it's about being the best most amazing smart, kind, strong, thoughtful, compassionate, version of your self you possibly can, then surpassing those expectations at every possible opportunity.
It's not just fighters. I think in all competitive sports people watch a lot of videos and do a lot of prep. At least in the highest professional settings.

I like how not once did he say anything negative about Lerdsila. Everything made sense from a unbiased technical standpoint. Great review! I have tremendous respect for both fighters. The downfall of having so many wins, is that the world is going to study that person's techniques until a counter is invented, tried, tested, and proven effective in an actual match.

I came across with lerdzilla a couple of days ago and I took that guy as an inspiration, as something I needed to show my 11-year-old son who is a tennis player with some future in the sport.
I was so impressed and preparing the correct speech to show my son this video of a fighter who looks unbeatable (Lerdzilla).
But now, I just met the guy who (😲WTF???) beat him and found it's even MORE AMAZING and INSPIRATIONAL.
I paid close attention to your strategy and learned how no matter how unbeatable someone may seem...there's always a way.

There's about a decade of things to perfect in this video, I cannot believe how knowledge and wisdom dense this video is. Had to come out of the shower while listening to it to write this comment. As a shorter fighter who uses a Mike Zambidis, peek-a-boo hybrid, and who never thought about stepping back, his advice on taking lead kicks is going to keep my tummy soooo much less sore than usual.

i found the fight so stpd all he does is hug after every punch to mitigate... taking advantage of rules but not actually fighting.
Fighters like Lerdsilla are similar to Muhammad Ali, they love to use their footwork and head movements. They can be quite frustrating , but just like smoking Joe Frazier defeated Muhammad Ali. He did it by constantly applying pressure, with the constant head movements and the heart of a lion.

Everybody figures figures you out in the end , no matter how good you are. Someone out there is always watching all your videos all day over and over , analyze everything you do down to the last details. You gonna get few matches where, you feel someone knows you like the back of your hands, and keep tagging you so many times in the match.
If this video is already out there, Lerdsilla is already adjusting, so this by no means will work again as a solid tactic going forward.
