Right! I JUST subscribed. Been seeing this suggested video for weeks & never clicked on it. Why have I forsaken this hair wisdom? Everything he's suggesting in this video I have learned from one & a half years of transitioning & two years of being fully natural. He's my spirit animal, & I had him on ignore. How could I have been so lost?
Africans/ carribeans always say men should be simple. I hate when they say that i grow my hair for a year and i have to cut it cause it "makes me look like a gang member."
I water my hair almost everyday like it's a plant. And my cousin cut her hair too and does water her hair. I only know she put water in her hair 3 times in 1 years. And she keeps asking me how is mt hair twice as long as hers amd whay do i do to make my hair look healthy. I keep telling her what to do, but she keeps telling me she doesn't wanna wet her hair because she doesn't want shrinkage and look like a boy. Her mom said dont do it also because she said thats not the right way to do ur hair because her hairs gonna be too short. Its so hard to teach ppl when they dont wanna listen
Best "how i grew my natural hair" video I have seen in a long time. Most youtubers make the same videos over and over, but you really made this your own.
Long nails = wear gloves. Even if you don't have long nails, wear gloves to detangle and style! Helps reduce breakage! You can get ten a pack from the dollar store!
I love your videos ! You've inspired me to grow my hair out after tons of discouraging times where i ended up cutting my hair....but thanks to you i got the courage to go for it and im happy to say im on month 6 with healthy growth and im still going strong ! 😀
Omg! Why am I just finding your channel. I had to subscribe. You just rejuvenated me to continue my natural hair growth journey. I appreciate your realistic tips and not text book answers.
This is literally the best video ever 😂😂 The intro ... I'm screaming inside 😂 The tips were spot on! I literally filmed a video yesterday saying the exact things! We need to school these kids!!
I really love tip 10 because once I learned to accept and love my hair, honeyyyy let me tell you, i've never felt so beautiful. My hairstyles are really creative and natural products I use have given my hair a life I never knew it could have. Love your hair ladies no matter what length or "grade" all hair is BEAUTIFUL
Thank you for making it plain. I am considering chopping my hair, but I didn't understanding the basics of treatment for natural hair. Everyone made it seem so difficult, but listening to you. You made it common sense.
Perusing through the videos, I was guided to you. Hallelujah!!! I am a senior/retired woman who gave up going to professional and expensive hair stylists years ago for my do it yourself Afro bun. Lacking any form of a routine, its needless to describe the condition of my hair today. I thoroughly enjoyed your presentation. And your suggestions for correcting/growing my hair is simple and well within my budget. Thank you for sharing your information.😊😊😊
you really broke down the purpose of detangling bc, not even gonna lie, i'm a lazy natural & i'd just rather not detangle 😂 but since you broke it down that way, i'll definitely detangle more.
Love your video! Growing long natural hair is not easy and can be so confusing for newly natural. GROW YOUR HAIR is an app on google play to help newly naturals. Its very helpful
I love your positive outlook on the many different hair types..I try to encourage others to show your natural hair while u have it on your head, because we all know what old age will do. I also like all of your tips I was slathering my hair with oils! oils! oils! and continued to see breakage..I wasn't adding water to it daily or trimming it..so thanks so much!
Isaiah Williams it's depends on your hair and how much shrinkage you have. My hair is almost bra strap when it's stretched and mine still haven't dropped 😂😂😤😭

This by far is the best video on natural hair care I've seen! You actually took the time to explain the reasoning behind each tip which is GREAT! And as an added bonus you are funny but not over the top. Love, Love, Love it! I can't get enough, I'm following you on Facebook and Instagram! Keep it up! Much love and appreciation.
Thank you!! I love your videos! So informational & fun at the same time. Your personality makes my day! Love the message you shared at the end about loving your natural hair no matter what type it is. That message is soooo needed in a world that often puts straighter hair on a pedestal. I can’t imagine how many people have been encouraged by your vids!
Damn what an amazing video. I am a natural hair stylist and I don't think I've ever explained it this clearly in consultation. Wonderful energy. So much love to you for spreading the knowledge.
with all the *tips* videos out here, this is by far, THE BEST. I watched til the end, AND, I actually learned so much. Thank u for taking the time to share what u know. Oh, and I LOVE ur energy. U rock!
I love this video! But you forgot something KEY. Diet plays a key part in hair growth! Love yourself and treat yourself right and your body will give back! thanks for the video!
I moisturize and seal AND deep condition but my hair still gets dry in like an hour. And my hair is always in cornrows/braids(it’s literally never out) but yet it doesn’t grow
@@ayad3834 yesss! So there’s this thing called the 3 step method where each week you shampoo, condition and then apply a styler like gel/foam (I use the olive oil leave in instead and then put my hair in a protective style). I learned that you aren’t supposed to put oil in your hair at all bc ur scalp already produces it’s own oil, and oil blocks water from going into your hair. So this whole time, I’ve been blocking moisture from going into my hair. I also learned that deep conditioning isn’t necessary unless your hair is damaged.
@@esther9210 shit that makes sense actually, how oil blocks moisture from absorbing into your hair, but why do these UA-camrs advocate to use it?, I’m a guy and I just cut off like 9-10 inches off my hair, basically have a buzz cut now, and I’m starting from scratch so I can grow it out very healthy from the start, I ordered blue magic grease and I’m gonna start using that to grow my hair out, I’ll be sure to use your tip when I get longer hair again
@@ayad3834 these UA-camr’s are not educated, nor are they licensed. I started listening to professionals instead like Jennifer rose and @forthecootiequeens on tiktok
Litteraly watched 2 min of the vid then subscribed. Dude, you've been promoted to Sophie's special hair advisor because you've got knowledge and you are hilariouuuuuuuus. I can't any longer, I run away from this place now until next time !
No wonder my hair is so brittle and dry I've watched so many hair videos on how to moisturize hair and no one ever said using a leaving mositurizer was better than using just oil.I didn't know a leave in conditioner was so important. Thank you and I will be subscribing to your channel.
Who knew that the person that i can relate to the most (when it comes to hair) on UA-cam would be a man. We got the same type of hair and i love it 😍. So happy that I found u in this here YT streets!!!! 💃🏾💃🏾

Will how do you feel about hair grease? I have been really skeptical about using it but I started using it about a week ago on my ends with black castor oil and my hair absolutely ATE IT UP. It loved it. That and protective styling seem to be working really well. It already feels healthier!! Love Love Love your channel boo!!!
Rocky Desruisseaux hair grease is an excellent sealant. Remember seeing people rocking those huge afros back in the day ? They used use nothing but shampoo grease and water. I retain so much length on my hair while using hair grease. My ends are no longer breaking , and I hardly get single strand knots. Don't listen to the those natural hair gurus when they tell you not to use petroleum products.
Rocky Desruisseaux I use grease in my hair, I've been natural probably longer than many of you have been natural and it works great. I use natural Shea butter soap to wash, a Shea butter-based conditioner (from Moorket) and then after a day or so, I lock in moisture with a moisturizing conditioner and seal it with grease. Before using the Shea butter soap, I used to just mostly co-wash several times weekly and then shampoo maybe once/monthly. But with the Shea butter soap it really cleans my hair and makes it baby soft without stripping it. I've been using grease since I was a teenager and every-time I leave it trying to ride some "natural" product train.... I always come back to it. In my opinion nothing works better than it to really lock in that moisture and define those twist/brists/braidouts. Do what works for your hair.
Heyyyy! I personally don't use hair grease. It usually contains petroleum and/or mineral oil, which are both known to create build up pretty quickly. They basically block out moisture and aren't all that great for the environment. If you find it works for you, however, I'd say continue using it, but make sure you're cleaning your hair thoroughly each week, paying close attention to your scalp! 🕺🏾
OMG where have you been all my life?!!! I subscribed after watching 35 seconds of this video lol. I big chopped in April 2017 and will def be using all your tips to help grow my hair. Thank youuuuu 💜

I mainly use water for moisture and hair grows BUT..... I have a patch in the front the curls are looser than loose . It's just how it grows cause I never used heat . Love your video though and I subscribed
you really take car of your hair.i use to be able to grow my hair easily but after getting married and stress with jobs and school I just don't take care of it anymore I let it dry out its naturally curly means after any and I mean any type of moisture my hair curls up which is fine and love my natural curly hair but I get lazy but lately I am drinking my water I do put oils in my hair so I do watch it every two weeks like I use to when I first grew it out.im just changing my whole life style a little bit more and more I do get my hair trimmed and I do like it cut short for me 15 buck lol just to keep it off my neck and my face Lord I can't stand it.i like you I am definitely subscribing.you keep it real.

you really broke down the purpose of detangling bc, not even gonna lie, i'm a lazy natural & i'd just rather not detangle 😂 but since you broke it down that way, i'll definitely detangle more.
I agree. my hair is so thick and i've noticed that it grows longer when i detangle it and wear styles that allow my scalp to receive oxygen lol

Hey Will, at what length did your hair drop? I'm just waiting for my hair to drop.
Isaiah Williams it's depends on your hair and how much shrinkage you have. My hair is almost bra strap when it's stretched and mine still haven't dropped 😂😂😤😭
Isaiah Williams it depends on texture and weight of products used. type 3 will drop way before type 4.
😂😂😂😂😂😂
If you use some gel, it will drop. If you don't and it's 4C, hmm it will never REALLY drop but you can still make it drop.
I honestly don't remember 😭 If I were to guess, I'd say after about 3 inches? I'm growing my shaved sides out now, so I guess I'll find out soon! Either way, I think for you it'll depend on how thick/curly your hair is!

You are the first person to break it down like this. Thank you.
