Nice, all i have to do is wait till my mom leaves to snag some rice secretly
all that time i was pouring that liquid gold down the sink???? fuckkk my liffeeeeeee!!!!!
GTPrincess123 exactly they don't call it mother nature for nothing sheesh wasting all this good food and natural techniques and sitting right in the kitchen 😂😂😂😂
I've been doing this for 3 weeks because my hair was shedding. Already the shedding has decreased significantly! I let the rice water ferment (spoil) for 2-3 days and it doesn't smell rotten. I add lavender and orange essential oils and use it as a rise after I shampoo. I place the rice water in a large bowl and use a plastic cup to just dump it over my hair. I let it sit for about 10 minutes then rinse and follow with a deep conditioner using steam. My hair comes out so soft and is super easy to detangle💁🏽
Adrienne Grant That was my question. Doesn't the fermented rice water stink
This girl tries everything xD. I like that you're always trying something new!
Bethany Derby that's the beauty of UA-cam, specially this channel now. She try it, it works, we try it!! 💡 btw! The overnight eggs and oil treatment is awesome. If you watch the video I tell you, I tried it the same night after she posted and had a FRESH color so I can tell it really worked 😄
Luna Azul Yes her channel is amazing! I saw that video, but I didn't try it. But now I will try it, I hope it works for me too. Do you use it regularly? And will you be trying this one?
Bethany Derby I only did it once, the same night she posted the video. I forgot to do a length check before, but I had a new hair color from just days before and my roots grew about one inch, I noticed the next night and was shocked because my color took lighter on my roots and I hated it lol so the change was obvious. I will try it again tomorrow night. I don't think we should do it more than once a month because it could give us protein overload, unless you are relax, I don't think you should do it more than that. I will be trying the rice water. Can you believe I never thought of using it for my hair, but I have used it for my face. It helps to clear acne, my mom pass that little secret to me. I will be letting you know on Monday if it worked again. Try it, it will work. Don't forget to massage your scalp.
Luna Azul Thank you very much. If it works for me I will add it to my regimen and do it a once a month, even though the bathroom will smell bad lol. I can understand that you didn't use the ricewater on your hair if you didn't see anyone else doing it. I hope it works for you. Thank you again and yeah I will massage my scalp!
Luna Azul quick question I'm relax how offend should I try this new method?and should i shampoo my hair with the rice water then rinse and then condition
This really works!! I've been doing this for years!!
Vibrant Hues realy 😃
i need Try this how many times can i do this in month
I use rice water on wash day as a final rinse and it makes my hair soooo soft and shiny! It is also great to use with a facial cleanser!
I do mine a little differently than what was shown in the video. I use the same technique to make the rice water except after the fermentation I keep it in the fridge so it is cold when I use it. I use it as a final rinse after deep conditioning then style as usual. It has worked wonders for me!! I have noticed way less shedding, and way more shine!
Vibrant Hues how long is your hair and how long have you been natural (assuming you are)?
I'm definitely gonna try this! I suggest putting the rice water in a spray/spritz bottle to make it easier to apply
edit: I legit made this comment right before you mentioned the spray bottle lmao
she is definitely what blue ivy will look like when she older.
i tried this for 1 year and my hair ACTUALLY GREW 5 inches. I thought it was bs but I was wrong
Please remember ladies, though this technique is amazing...rice grown in the U.S. (Especially from the south) are high in arsenic. That's why many people wash rice prior to cooking so if your rice is coming from another country it might be safer.
Sprightly Aurora wow. I just went to read up on this after reading your comment. Appearantly rice grown in Texas has the highest levels and basmati from California has the lowest levels as well as rice grown in other countries like India. I didn't even think about this.
Thank you, I never knew that! Also be cautious when buying rice from China. There's a sort of epidemic of people selling fake rice made of plastic and other nasty things.
Do not boil it. If you do you boil out the nutrients and you are basically using plain water. Put it in the fridge to stop fermentation add a cup of warm water and wash hair.
+Angel Williams yes. you can wash your hair first and do this as a final rinse.
Gloria Gonzalez but you would still boil it initially, correct? Otherwise you wouldn't get the rice water.
Well I don't boil it is rinse it about three times and just pour it all over my hair
1:31 no lie tho they hair look like the scarf I use to tie my weave at night😂😂
you kinda serve aaliyah in this video idk y. (my eyes r tired its 5am here 😂)
Ka Phong is there another aaliyah movie because lifetime's didn't cast a white woman. Maybe you meant the cancelled micheal Jackson movie.
I've tried the rice water. However I do put mine in a spray bottle and I added a few oils to mine. Mine is a NO rinse rice water oil. It worked wonders on my hair. I added 2 drops of each of these oils. BLACK CASTOR OIL, COCONUT OIL,
ARGON OIL, TEA TREE OIL, PEPPERMINT OIL, ROSEMARY OIL. My hair grew a little over 4 inches in a month in a half. I will not use anything else. I've finally found something that my hair likes. Blessings to all.
I would say that the rice water is slightly FERMENTED after sitting overnight rather than "spoiled". Thanks so much for sharing this with us.
You kinda look like Jordan Sparks
Omg yesss! She's just a little more brown but definitely in the face and the expressions...
Did you do a length check before starting this series? If so, once you've "completed" this series, can you share the inches you've gain w us?
I've got an amazing technique for easy application of the rice water. Been dabbling with the stuff since last Spring, and it works wonders. May post a video sometime soon of how to accomplish easier application-- because from my experience, using your hands to manually apply to water takes forever. Especially if your hair is thick. Thank you for being one of the far few sharing this technique in a video! 😁
I like this and will try it. I also think putting the water in a spray bottle would be easier for application.
This is super weird because I read an article in the paper today about how many vitamins and minerals are in rice water and that it's a good treatment for diarrhea. Now I'm coming across this! Wow!
You should try Ethiopia hair growth techniques butter hair cream Ethiopian people call it (kibeh) if you are interested I will that you how to make it 😊
Nardi Yes, Ghee is awesome for hair! I'm actually creating a treatment with a lab using it. Check it out daughteofeve.net
Nardi I kinda feel ashamed that me (as an ethiopian) dont know about the technic haha, can you tell me more about it?
I've heard about this a lot but I know how to make it & could you share it please
who else thought she looked 7798564432323 times prettier without makeup
Wow the old women don't even get gray hair !
@@noseygirl9907 no it has to do whats in the rice water..it actually reverse hair from turning grey
Maybe pour your rice water into a applicator bottle? Going to try it out.
I believe you were the first person to put me on this 2 Years ago!! Thanks for all the great videos!! 🌈😍
I'm starting a new hair journey for 2017 after my 2yr length check. .. I will try this out
I think cooking the rice till it's fully cooked is better than just boiling it.
also a girl on instagram talked about how rice water makes the hair less frizzy and shiny. but not cooking the rice, just soak it over night and spray it into hair after a shower.
Don't worry, Maryam! (You will follow your own advice soon.) You are on your way to INCREDIBLY lengthy hair! The only reason you straighten your hair is because you like to enjoy your (hard-earned) length. I think that's pretty much the reason most of us naturals straighten our hair. Just continue to be diligent, and soon your hair--- even in its shrunken state--- will hang down to your waist or hips:-) Keep up the excellent work!
Yes! Strinkage is no joke and my hair always get tangled easily when I wear it naturally curly! But yes I can't wait until it's super long curly! I always want to cut my hair but then I think about that!
We use to do this in D.r for skin and hair people let the rice sit over night though. I think boiling it may kill its properties. Works great.
Mare McGee Yeah.. I don't think they would boil it I think they just would let it absorb.. that way the water will get all the properties
Mare McGee so instead of boiling the rice and water you just let the rice soak in the water and then continue the steps?
Mare McGee i don't boiled the rice i only make it overnight with water...and it looks great...my damage hair feels good now..
Just dip your head in that bowl!
I eat so much rice, how come it never occurred to me to try this? Thanks for sharing!
Mee too. I eat rice every day. The ingredients must be in my blood. Last 6 years I have lost lots of hair
When I straighten my hair it looks just like that girl! 💟 I know, the rice water is good for plants but I didn't know you can also put it on hair!
yes add green tea in the water as it ferment n b4 using it add a fragrance
Let the rice sit for a week then add orange pells and them boil let it cool down then use.
.......But ur hair already long though!
This sounds so easy, definitely need to try. I LOVE DIY all natural products :)
Omg I'm love with your natural hair 😱 (when you where putting the water in it) it's sooo beautiful
I has read this article as well and tried the technique. I agree that my hair was super soft. I believe the technique will several tries to see results in growth .
can't wait to try this sounds interesting , i've been trying to grow my hair forever now . my hair is just passed my shoulders
YOUR HAIR IS INSANE BEAUTIFUL!!!
great for this budget conscious diva! I'm gonna try it tonight!
You look like Aaliyah...Beautiful! SUBSCRIBED!!!
I was scrolling down looking for this comment 😂. I knew someone had seen it too🤗.
My God! Every time I watch one of your videos your hair is so much longer! Love the African hair cutting ritual. Anyway, I've heard about this rice water for hair and I'm going to definitely try it. I eat organic brown rice quite often so I have to try this. So you don't cook the rice, right? Just boil and then ferment over night? Thank you, you are absolutely lovely and such an inspiration!
Love this technique, I haven't seen any growth but when I straighten my hair I only need to use one pass with the flat iron and it has so much body and bounce to my hair. I also have terrible acne scars and use the rice water as a little mask and then rinse it off.
The pot you're using to boil the rice in, totally brings me back to my childhood.
Thanks for sharing! I love these techniques :) I missed your intro on this video. It's so professional.
Thank you!! I might go back to it but I was trying to think of a different intro for the holidays!
strength and length for hair is genetics. Theirs a reason why Asians and Indians have long thick hair and your average white women doesn't. BUT I recommend anyone trying to grown better hair to eat, sleep and drink enough water. Most people have the ability to grow great hair but have a super toxic environment of eating poorly and not drinking water to detoxify. Take care of yourself and you'll see results.
Do not boil the water! Put the rice in the water and let the nutrients soak 12-24 hours! You will boil the nutrients and vitamins out
Jamaica Streater Boiling the rice actually extracts more nutrients into your water. Then let it ferment for 1 week or more. ( the more fermented the better). However do not boil after fermentation.
Tip: while fermenting add orange peels to lessen the smell.
@@EDPaul-by6di so once I boil it the longer I let it sit the better the results?!
kinda cool. been using this technique for some time now. my hair is already very long. but I wanted to incorporate this with what I ready do for added strength. hair is getting thicker and stronger. let us know how it works for you in your update video
I tried it last week. I felt exactly what you said. I used a spray bottle so it was easy to use. I'm putting this in my routine.
man, that pot has seen better days
it would be great if it works but sometimes I just think its genetics man
Shanar Downer nah eveyone's hair grows you just have to take.care of it. leave most trendy things like weave and color alone and it will grow
almondeyez78 actually sometimes weave helps the growth of your hair and makes it easier to maintain.
almondeyez78 i have to wear weave /wigs in order for my hair to grow, no questions asked
Tasha Gregory sounds like you defensive and don't know what you are doing if you really think that is the only way hair will grow. never asked you anything cuz obviously if i did you couldn't answer
I know colouring and heat can cause problems especially if not done properly I'm trying biotin pills to see if that works and braiding
Sooo beautiful , your hair is super pretty !
Yeah, i think the reason their hair is so long is because of low manipulation, like u mentioned, not cutting their hair but once in their lives, and not using man-made shampoos and conditioners. Not necessarily the rice water. I'm pretty sure all of us could do that, and especially those with straight hair, and get the same results without the rice water.
i agree. I used to have dreads for 18 years. my hair was down to my legs. this was due to very low manipulation and no shampoo or conditioner but only natural products from the earth such as hibiscus flowers, aloe vera and cactus. I had very healthy and thick hair.
Skalyon2 lol dreads are long because you're twisting/keeping your shed hair instead of getting rid if it like everyone else.
+Skalyon2 my husband and I just started our dreads this summer do you have a regiment?
byoung4eva1 saw this person with many different vedio with different methods, can't believe all her vedio if it's true or not?
I see a lot of videos on rice water but no results. has anyone received results or noticed improvement in skin
I let my rice water ferment for 7 days and I add Camille oil and ginger and let it boil
Praise YAH is 7 days better ?
Like the longer you let it ferment the better the results ?
makayla kirksey that's what Asian people say, it is better to ferment but it STINKS!! Do it on a weekend! If you can not stand the smell DO NOT DO IT!
can't wait to try this! I've used rice vinegar to cleanse/clarify my hair similar to the ACV method
I came here from Facebook I saw you in the video:)
Hi, love this video and your hair is so pretty. However I read in several articles that you shouldn't reboil the water after fermentation because it kills the nutrients that make rice water work. Also, some people use the water after soaking as treatment and not boiling it at all. Thoughts?
so do you condition afterward?
I'm glad you mentioned the spray bottle, while you were putting it on your head with your fingertips and 'scooping', I was saying to myself "Girl, if you don't go get a spray bottle.." LOL. I love this idea, makes sense. I love your videos because we have similar textures and amount of hair, so the info is spot on. Thank you Maryam!
I have tried the rice water treatment about 4 times now and my hair has grown about an inch in 2 weeks. I have bleached my hair and damaged it more than it ever was and the rice water has really helped to repair some of the damage from dying my hair for years and now for bleaching my hair. I love it. Rice water works for me!
pff you're even more beautiful without make-up
Right she looks like two different women i didnt like the makep at all shes gorgeous without it
Great video😉 Have u ever tried egg shell water? It's the water left over after u boil eggs, after shampooing or clensing your hair; leave it in your hair 5-30 min., and rinse. Then put in your conditioner/hollow your regular hair routine. It makes your hair stronger and is a good heat protector.
How often do you put egg shell water in your hair and how many eggs do you boil?
this technique seems so cool, i will definitely be trying it.
New subscriber !!! Ima be keeping up with all your glorious videos
Would be really nice with a couple drops of essential oil...rosemary or lavender maybe
my mom told me about this, and i thought she was joking lol
Your hair is GORGEOUS 😍😍😍😍
Thanks, Maryam. 💓 Can't wait to do more research and try it!
will be trying !
Anyone tell you that you could pass for Aaliyah's cousin or half sister? You kind of look like her when you put make up on.
thank you girl for saving my hair
Please help. My hair has always been my pride and joy. I figured since it is pretty damn healthy, it could deal with some bleach damage. And I figured the master stylist who did all the color-corrections would know how much would be too much. I was wrong, and now I want to burst into tears every time I look at my hair or touch it. I just don't know what to do. my hair has also NEVER been shorter than this and it breaks and falls out. What should i do to regrow hair?
is it clarifying?
Mom : WHY THA FUCK ALL MY GOD DAMN RICE GONE
Me with my new growth : ...
how long do you think this technique or process suppose to take until you begin to notice hair grow
Love this video!! Definitely going to try it!! Thanks for sharing!!
also a much better way to utilize or conserve shampoo or this mixture is to use is a cheap applicator bottle to get a better usage so you don't overuse the good stuff or to thoroughly get it on your hair😉
wow this is very interesting
Your curly hair is gorg omg👌🏼
your hair is so pretty. i think our natural textures are alike, but i am unsure and have not made it full natural!! i think my pattern looks wavy .does your roots ever get really tangled or hard to comb if you wait long to wash?
I'm a bit confuse your hair is already wet prior to adding the rice water is that the proper way you're suggesting that we do? And how offen should we do this to start seen results?
Nina Alfred When u Normally Shampoo do u add the product to dry hair or do you rinse your hair & get it nice & wet 1st?
probably because warm water opens the strands up for cleansing. when u shampoo your hair do u wet it first or do u apply the shampoo to dry hair?
Nina Alfred hi did you find out how many times you do this,,,I have very thin hair it falls out alot I've had a lot of radiation due to testing I need something to grow my hair thank you for taking the time to read this
Nina Alfred You wet your hair first like you would if you was using regular shampoo...
Angela Baker thank you so much for answering so fast,,God bless you
Really Enjoyed This Video MARYAM💎❕YOU Should Try Natural ☔ Rain Water with Your Favorite Shampoo❕PEACE&BLESSINGS
Hi, along with the rice water regiment, what else do you do? You didn't mention the cleanliness of your hair. Do you shampoo, before? Thank you
wow amazing must try this ...
I was thinking the same thing. She looks like Aaliyah. My hair is probably about your length, but this is a great tip. I will share.
THANK YOU! Everyone talking about how her and Blue Ivy look alike, but when I saw her, I immediately thought she looked like Aaliyah. I thought I was going crazy.
Hi! I love your videos and your hair is super gorgeous. FYI, i use rice water as a daily spray leave in. I do not rinse it out after each use. I love it.
Ur hair looks so pretty curly and u look beautiful without the makeup!!
I LIKE HOW YOU PRESENT ALL OF YOUR VIDEOS. I WATCH THEM ALL. YOU HAVE BEAUTIFUL HAIR AND SKIN. THANK YOU FOR SHARING.
Am I able to spritz rice water on my scalp/ hair while I have box braids and just leave it in instead of rinsing it out ?
did you use conditioner/shampoo at all? or just got in the shower wet your hair, add rice water, and then rinse again?
Maryam Hampton did it cleanse the scalp of the dirt and oils properly ?
my desperate ass would dump my head in the rice water
Ayanna Sarr
I wud do that too.. tired of relaxed and heated hair..
Opportuner Kalewa yeah! Since the people in the tribe wash their hair with rice water *everyday* then I'll do it everyday! My hair grows like an inch a year I'm not gonna do it once a week, EVERYDAY!
Ayanna Sarr Hahahaha!! Me too!!
Ayanna Sarr me too, I was just thinking that 😂😂😂
Ayanna Sarr lol
