They don’t have to keep making super big games. If they target smaller to medium games like miles morales than I think they could put out more games at a quicker pace.
The issue is that people keep hyping PS5 pro leaks and rumors, gamers are waiting to pro to come out before moving to PS5, also putting exclusives on PC is hurting console sales, not as much as Xbox with day and date, this is why PS needs to change from porting first party to PC to porting to PSvr2, console sales and PSvr2 sales would increase for a hardware company, win win

Not to be the bearer of bad news but Im a PC player and recently sold my Playstation for the lack of games.. I bought a series x... why you may ask? i mostly game on Steam and the Battle net launcher but im also subbed to Gamepass Ultimate.. the flexabilty to continue playing some games from PC to Xbox on the couch due to cross save on gamepass games. But also this apparent new strategy of more single player games is already going to fail.... the reason being is that over %80 of the Playstation user base play F2P games as this is proven to be right due the poor sales of single player games of late on the PS4/5.. selling 10 million copies of games that are a one time purchase isnt making Sony money as it main player base dont care for such games. 130 million PS4/5 owners, what are the other 120 million players playing??? Its the reason Jim Ryan opted for more live service games but not only that COD being a dominate game on Playstation is now owned by Xbox and for the PS4 players who only play F2P and COD are only going to upgrade to a Series S or X to play FIFA/Madden/NBA2K/Fornite/Warzone and BO6 as they are all in gamepass ( not Fortnite as F2P ). From a financial perspective these PS4 players who dont buy games which is the majority of PS owners by the way will most likley switch as they have no game catalogue they wish to preserve.. Its just too much money to save playing on XBOX especially with the BIG draw of COD/BO6. This is all backed up by the fact that over %50 of total Playstation revenue is from MTX... from all the games i listed above but mainly from COD!!! Playstation cannot bank on these gamers that only play the games listed above to spend money on single player games because currently they dont!! Also to note, is it coincidence that PS+ subscriptions have dropped by another %50.... It is going to be interesting to see what happens when B06 launches....... it could very well change the course of how Playstation operate going forward. FYI this isnt a hate playstation post.. its a PC gamer seeing whats going on the the console space and Playstation releasing a rumoured PS5 PRO with no games for it would be a terrible mistake!!! They need to scrap that and get the PS6 out in 2026, the same time the Next gen Xbox will release!!!
All we can do is hope they know what’s best since they can see accurate numbers, and make plans based off what they see on their end. But failing is part of learning so if that happen, they just need to start a new plan

The only way Single player games will work for them is if they scale down the cost to more an AA scale and maybe have 1 AAA every release every 2 years. It seems as those Playstation are at a point where they are not quite sure which direction to go in..

You say that but Sony has sold around 60 million units of the ps5. Also their not stopping production on single player games for “live services” focus, not sure where you heard that. Even if they were they’d still be on top compared to Microsoft and Nintendo. They’re not dead bro.😅
I switched from Xbox to PlayStation now, best decision of my life. Microsoft still doesn't care about quality games anymore. I hope Xbox gets dissolved this year after indiana jones flopped and absorbed into Microsoft corporation group.

It’s kinda a no brainer when the ceo retired and they canceled a bunch of planned live service games. This doesn’t really sound new to me.
