Great tips. Basket area is especially deadly on HT because of how bosses spawn and aggro - many of them will hunt down the closest person they see when they spawn until that person dies, and in the case of Grounds, the two grates side spawns do exactly that, with one being super close to basket, and that will contaminate the area veeery quickly. (Same with top of the spiral on HT Sockeye tbh)
People #3 is SO IMPORTANT. Don't all stay grouped at basket, treat the adjacent platform as EQUALLY crucial as protecting the basket area. Jump back and forth between the two on high tide to keep some enemies lured away of basket area. Over luring is very easy on this map.
Absolutely! I didnt want to make the video too long or convoluted but I could talk for hours about strategy for this map and how playing safer and killing earlier is usually the best way to play Freelance.
I need more tips for this map. 😪 One thing I will say is to pay attention to knock back with weapons like rollers and brellas. Especially on high tide. It’s very easy to fall off the map. My other tip would be to make sure you are playing your role- if you have a long range or heavy weapon stay close to basket. Dying in this map really causes things to snowball quickly so you can’t afford to make silly errors.
I’m surprised you didn’t say anything about listening to calls from teammates. Many times people will spam “This Way!” when they need help yet no one listens or comes to the area they’re in. But anyways, overall, this video has great tips. Thank you for sharing
Hey, thanks so much! The reason I didn’t mention that is because I think a lot of what can be done in SR is self improvement and doesn’t necessarily involve what your team mates are doing. I know in Low EVP, the call outs are often misused so get ignored by most but I do think that becoming aware of everything going on in the map negates ever needing the call outs in the first place. Once you’ve played enough, you’ll start to automatically notice where bosses are spawning at what times and what your teammates are doing and if they need help. I think a lot of SR improvement can be done just solely focusing on yourself, especially when you’re new to the game. I do agree that those call-outs do become helpful in overfishing or at HLM though.
That’s actually insane CONGRATS LOL that rotation seemed like hell! And you know what, when I made this video, I didn’t like it more but I have grown to tolerate it now. I don’t hate it anymore, rather just indifferent to it. How did you find the 999 grind?
@@rachelskiiiiiii okay so I thought it'd be hell but the rotation turned out A LOT BETTER than I expected! Strike fast, strike hard was the way to go. Practicing with Bamboo helped. Steelheads were more problematic but nothing impossible :) It was also my 3rd Gold badge so I knew the grind but starting from 300 helped save time 😁 But I saw a bomb tech for Flyfish near the edges. That was a life saver.
Oh really? I think all S2 maps shouldn’t have been brought back really, unless they had major changes to accommodate it. Bosses like Floppers, Sticks and Lids just don’t work on these maps, especially on HT. Bay is the worst offender for this, would have work if they widened the boat or moved the basket forward. Grounds I think is the least worst out of all the S2 maps, because it’s got lots of walls and platforms to use for height and movement. Yard doesn’t work cause it’s too small. I just think they should’ve tweaked the maps slightly, made them slightly bigger or included a few more walls to use and I think it would have been okay.
Sorry I’ve just seen your comments! Generally speak I think it really depends on what weapon I have and how my teammates are doing. Sometimes I’ll go over there and cripple it and realise my teammates need me back so will leave it, other times I can’t afford the ink for two bombs, other times I can afford the ink and time and will kill it. The risk of killing it is that another one will just pop up right lol so I’d say if that’s more of a risk, then crippling it might be the play, as long as you keep the other Flyfish spawns under control (like killed asap)
My personal faves are Gone Fission and Jammin' Salmon! I find they're both really rewarding at high EVP/HLM, they're both easy for newcomers and they have cool movement and platforming that you can do. I also find that they're really forgiving with terrible comps too, which is not always the case on Grounds or Bay!
Honestly, I’ve barely played SG or MB lately. They’re not fun in a lot of instances and I found myself not often having fun. I completely get why people avoid these rotations.
Hey! It means playing with a squad to achieve the highest maximum score you can. Check this out, some players just broke 400 in a private job with a scenario code: m.ua-cam.com/video/vM9JjNKhL14/v-deo.html
4:14 super smexy 1 bomb 1 satan kill
this was so helpful!! it's great to see which bosses you prioritize and when to let certain things go :)
Glad it was helpful! 🫶🏻

Thank you for sharing this video!
Thanks! And yeah, ikr, gotta deal with that ASAP! 😂🙏🏻
omg, I AM a happy little worker :D
Thanks for the tips! I was able to get to 270 freelancing, so hopefully the next time this map comes up I can break 300
You can do it! 🫶🏻
seriously impressive work especially w the stamper
Thanks! Stamper has become a fast favourite weapon of mine in SR. Feels really good.

I finally 999d this map with Carbon, L3, Bamboo, and Clash! And since then I've grown somewhat fond of the map lol

How many maps would you say are fit for what Splatoon 3 is like and why? I never played Sploon Two

Any opinion on crippling HT flyfish when it appears at far grates? Or is it better to kill?

HT Coho makes me sad
It’s decent when you have powerful weapons but yeah I wish it was better 😫
Can anyone explain what overfishing means?
