The most important tips I'm getting from this: 1. Never wait for a boss to do anything. If you don't one cycle a steelhead, just run away and do something else. 2. You don't have to go collect every kill, just get eggs when they are convenient. 3. Always walk it to the basket when you can, it costs too much ink. 4. Lead the moving bosses closer to the basket whenever possible. 5. Don't save your specials as a "panic button", use them to target the annoying bosses like stingers and flyfish.
After the time i spent on splatoon 2 solo que ive developed a skillset that involves all of these. The only time i lose is if one of us on the team messes up and forgets one of these things which is not too common
Especially point 5! I always leave it for when my teammates are dead if I have inkjet. It seems way better to use it and target stingers because they are so annoyingly far and there's a higher chance of dying in a corner if you are dealing with it alone
There's also another potential tip I noticed both in the vid and on my own: You can sometimes use bosses like Steelhead to kill other bosses, so don't forget that if say a Steelhead is close to a Stinger's back or an Eel's tail (same theory with the Lid slam, Lid's great for destroying anything that might get under it like flyfish if you can trigger the slam).
@@carlos41519 Exactly... do the Solo Run long enough and you will eventually get to the bullet points the OP made. But its highly circumstantial... like "leave the boss and do something else while its not moving" sometimes doing that might trap you or leave you in a bad situation.
For anyone interested in some perspective on the potential of Next Wave: In Splatoon 2 we held the 1 night record of 201 Golden Eggs on this map (excluding golden rotations). It's still the record to this day after years of SR. And now after 4 hours of playing this same map on Splatoon 3 we nearly got that exact same score. Give it some time and this mode could see some insane scores.
Yeah for sure, already in Splatoon 2 a 300 is theoretically possible given the near perfect circumstances. It's hard to say still, but in Splatoon 3 I could maybe even see it going up to 400. Although that would definitely require the best wave types like High tide and night waves that aren't Rush or Seeking with bad paths.
Mudmouths has insane potential. Even the 84 here could be further optimized (lack of snatcher optimization, other minor mistakes). We managed to get Tornado up to a 64 or something, although it seems to be quite dependant on the DPS of the comp. I would like to experiment more with how the players and eggs are positioned, but I feel the limit of this mode isn't as high. Also egg throwing is amazing. This alone has ramped up the egg count so much, makes it a lot more complex too with the ink management and team distribution for getting eggs. Like, all of a sudden you don't need 3 people to get 3 far eggs, as a simple example.

Definitely outclassed by Gslosher and Gcharger. The slower mobility compared to Gblaster might put it even worse than that one, but all things considered not bad still. I definitely wouldn't mind getting it, unlike Gbrella lol
Yes and no. It has the highest DPS in the game for any normal weapon. Something which is always good in SR, but with that also comes great vulnerability. There are many scenarios it simply cannot deal with alone, which you can argue is a problem. But when compensated for it can definitely be good to have. A small sidenote, hearing there's a heated argument it's probably worth mentioning that pushing the limit of this game is more about being ready to approach things with an open mind and be proven wrong, and less about trying to show that you're right.
God I need to learn to play like this. I’m okay at it. I run around and kill the bosses and collect eggs so we don’t get overwhelmed. But I often get teammates that are either no good or don’t even do anything. I don’t want to blame it on my teammates but they only ever focus on one area and a ton of salmon come from behind and I’m the only one who ever notices. Profressional is hard.
I want to note this is overfishing, a self imposed challange where a group of 4 players as a team all work together to get the highest golden egg count possible. The stratagies you see here are counter productive if you're playing alone and stratagies that work when playing alone tend not to work here. So while its good to learn the basic from this video, its not accurate to solo q.
The most important tips I'm getting from this:

Not brian but id say goldie if you have crab tank. I saw this guy get like 20 in ten seconds
Wow!!! You guys are insane! What level rank are you? Eggsecutive??
We were around 400-900 eggsecutive during this session
I'm watching this in my phone, and even then I feel the need to booyah
And 4 people broke the record recently with 241 eggs
How do u get the black suit?
Is squid roll or substrafe more efficient?
Situation dependent
in a heated argument rn. need your opinion on this. does hydra suck in salmon run?
Jesus you guys are insane
How do you even get a team/friends like this?
God I need to learn to play like this. I’m okay at it. I run around and kill the bosses and collect eggs so we don’t get overwhelmed. But I often get teammates that are either no good or don’t even do anything. I don’t want to blame it on my teammates but they only ever focus on one area and a ton of salmon come from behind and I’m the only one who ever notices. Profressional is hard.
Good lord, I wish playing with randoms would be as good as playing with friends lmao
This is exactly the skill lvl I want in splatoon
that’s a good 2 silver scales👍
14:44 2 SCALES????? How do you even get gold scales
And here i am, losing my Eggsec title because i got a connection error in wave 1 which stopped me from moving and caused a team wipe
Damn bro I wish only I would be able to play with such mates regularly…
Let's get it, salmon run on steroids
Love the teamwork & execution, I wish randoms went even half as smooth. Using specials where they’re most effective rather than a panic button 🤌
Accidentally watched this on 1.25 speed and wondered how tf you were moving that fast lmaoo
I want to note this is overfishing, a self imposed challange where a group of 4 players as a team all work together to get the highest golden egg count possible.
The stratagies you see here are counter productive if you're playing alone and stratagies that work when playing alone tend not to work here. So while its good to learn the basic from this video, its not accurate to solo q.
jesus, even in high ranks the cohozuna rewards are terrible. im gonna be in an old folks home by the time i even get the black slopsuit.
