Out of all these things mentioned, my son has problems with attention spam and following directions. His attention spam is very short, and although most of the time he seems to understand the command given he doesnt follow the instructions very well.

Hello my son is 22 months this video helped me so much for the most part he’s not talking. He will grab my hand and walk me to what ever he wants he moans and whine and when he tries to talk he’s very aggressive with it. this video help me so much because he’s doing most things just not talking .

Shelby Frohmader Hi! Thanks for reaching out. 18 months is the youngest I’ve seen referred for Speech Therapy. I think it is a great time to start! They learn so much when they are that young and you can avoid some negative behaviors developing from the frustration of not being able to communicate.

Thanks & that gave me some good tips if he hits me to use the "soft hands," approach. I'm still pretty baffled if I'm supposed to "Not watch the show," during a head hitting tantrum, or pick him up & console him. My concern w/ your not watching the show approach is that he could really hurt himself. Sometimes he'll get a bruise or red bump on his head from doing this. Again, your videos are super informative & the best I've found so THANK YOU very much!

I am so glad I found this channel. My son is 26 months and has no words- not even Mama. He has been diagnosed with ASD and has been on music therapy for modulation for 8 months now. This has given him great advances in vocalization and he makes lots of different sounds - consonants and vowels. His fine motor skills have improved also- he never had an issue with gross motor skills. I think he even tries to sing lullabies in the evening as the melodies are sometimes clear. Going through this list though and using a poor, moderate or strong scaling he is poor at 2/3/5/6/7 and moderate at 1/4/8 and does not do 9/10/11 at all- no clapping, pointing or use of hands in general. He is not in any specialist care/ services yet as we just relocated countries.
If I start trying to focus on these 11 skills individually, is there an ordering I should take that would be the most beneficial? Thanks again for these great videos!

You’re videos are informative my baby is 11 months growing up in a bilingual home so I’m trying my best to promote talking currently a babbler but there’s some skills you mention like the ball for example that he doesn’t really stick to it for long but tower building he does 🤷🏻♀️

My 21 month old daughter (just turned 21 months on the 12th) has hit all of her milestone. Except speaking. She listens to commands and can say mama, dada, baba, stop & no. She does babble & use a lot of jargon and I can hear her saying different vowel sounds.But When I tell her to say things she ignores me. Lately I've been working with her and speaking with her more. Can you make a video on how to help a baby learn to imitate? My daughter is 4 months and so far she’s hitting every milestone except for copying facial expressions... she gets confused and intrigued by faces made at her, but she doesn’t ever copy them. I want to get ahead of it so she can become the full blown rockstar baby that I know is in there!

great video ...I am from Pakistan, my son is 2 years old but he has not yet picked speaking. He speaks takes names of his elders and tries to talk but his speech is not clear. He sometimes pushes his elder sister on bicycle, he kicks a ball, throws a ball and bats with ball but he is not speaking the way his elder sister picked up speech. He even hangs on to the monkey bar for like 5 to 7 seconds. Kindly suggest what to do regarding his speech?

Hi! I have a 3 year and 1 month child and I have watching most of your videos for me to know if he has delayed in language develop. He can talk words and sentences like, "drink milk please", eat rice and egg", etc. He can even sing some nursery rhymes, but he still not able to tell stories. Does this means that means he has language delays?

Question: When it comes to “vocalizing” does moaning count? Our son is 23 months. No words other than “mama” and other random vowel sounds. But lately, he seems to just continuously moan or whine. Most times we think he’s communicating displeasure. Other times we think he wants something and he just doesn’t know how to say it. And other times he just seems to moan/whine nonstop with out purpose like it was a new sound he discovered and just wants to keep doing. What do you think? Is it a vocalizing words precursor?

Hello my son is 2 1/2 & he has all but he was babbling & then stopped had regression & until months ago started to babble and vocalizing should i be worried? He also gets upset when i repeat a word & I tell him “your turn”

hello ..am from iraq ..i have 22 months old daughter that had soft cleft palat she had asurgery when she was 14 months old and they told us to check her ears for fluids so i took here to the doc and she had fluids so they give us med to heal.her and she is almost cured and her hearing is good now but the problem.is she is not developing new words only few somtime i ask her to pronounce some and she does but not.all.she plays and pay attention and when call.her sh comes and play with deffrent toys but now as i said she is not develoling new words what should we do cos me and her mom are very worried about her .

Hello ...i have a 2 year old boy and he says just yes and dada .....I haven't been able to work a lot with him after he turned 6 month old because I started to working and haven't been able to spend time with him .... When he was 23 month old he started to close in his self and not reacting to nothing .I got really scared and took him to see a specialist and she told me to take phone and TV out of his face and play a lot with him ..We did that and he started to open up not just with me but even with other people ....he waves his hand for bye ,turns when being called ,reacts,plays with toys correctly ,makes towers ,loves to play hide and seek .But he doesn't imitate and we don't have the attention to play in two ....he starts playing and than leaves to play by himself ....I would love to know how can I help him to have more attention and to imitate ....i am desperate ..thank you and sorry for the long comment ..

Hi! Trust your gut. If you are concerned, seek an evaluation!
Jiggly Puff My son was like that and he was diagnosed with expressive language delay, although he was closer to 3. Get an evaluation sooner rather than later. Ignore people who tell you to "wait and see"! In fact, the earlier you start therapy (if you need it) the more beneficial it will be.
I believe it’s called “labeling and lack of functional language”. My 6 years old can probably label every single thing on the planet and outside BUT has extremely limited functional language. He can count till he tired of counting, knows all the alphabet (can go around the house and say W is for wall, window, T is for tile, etc...). Can read slowly. Knows all famous nursery rimes by heart, knows famous cartoons by heart (like The Lion King). Name probably at least 50 dinosaurs, 200 animals and their features, all planes in solar system BUT if you say “how was your day” he cannot respond. He was diagnosed with ASD at the age of 2. He was similar as your child at this age BUT he had some delays in physical development and had a lot of repetitive behaviour, also lacked typical play and social skills.
Hello there, I’ve got a brother who just started kindergarten, he four years old. He has all of the foundations, he’s great at reading and math however the language delay is barrier, it seems to me that he understands what others are saying, such as directions, some w-questions however he doesn’t know how to fully express himself, instead he’ll point to what he wants or what happens, only certain things does he express himself in. What would you say for me to do in this case. The strange thing is that he is familiar with many words and phrases and understands them but he doesn’t commonly uses it.

I am not sure what services are available to you for special needs children in the country you live. You will need to do some research. Start by contacting your doctor. Until then keep up with my videos.

My daughter has done all these since she was 1 and half. But she is 2 and 2 months now and won't learn to talk. She just shuts down when we teach her.

@@tweetrenea8667 We started her in pre-school shortly after I posted this. Last August. Her speech took a huge leap just a few weeks in. And she opened up to us teaching her words and took to repeating back almost every answer I give her to a question. Usually the question is "What's this?" It has been great. She talks nearly all day long now. Even alone when she is playing make believe with her dolls and toys. :)

My son is 14.5 months and doesn't say any real words, he started babbling dadaddadadda, yayayayyayayayayaya exactly 12 months and 1 week. He does make sounds that sound like whistling but will not answer his name, imitate me or look at me unless I am singing to him. Please help

Our speech therapist currently has us concentrating on turn taking. He's pretty good at it but my question is, is this the last step that leads to talking? My son is 2 and still has yet to say 1 word but listens well, makes eye contact and can follow simple instructions. I just can't wait to hear Mommy you know?

My almost 7 months old doesn’t babble in two or more syllables (like bababa or dada). He says single DA or ABOO, and all the aaa uuuu eeee, etc. he does kisses sounds and blows raspberries. Also if I say DA in a play he will respond to me with sound DA, smile, laugh or other sounds. Is there is any reason why he doesn’t want to say dadada or bababa?. He reaches all other milestones in time. And he is a very social and engaged baby. He repeats actions like hit a drum if I hit, spin a wheel if I spin, start laughing if I laughed. But just doesn’t want to repeat dadada or bababa etc....also he responds to his name and word and finger gesture “look”.

What do I do when my child regresses?
HI Carla, it depends on how much regression and if there is a trigger (new baby in house, stress, sickness, move). It can be an indication of a greater problem as well - but I cannot say for sure! Have you had an evaluation done?

Yes, I’ve had an evaluation, and I’m always searching for more resources and tips to jump start my 2.5 year old or get him to saying simple words again. No hearing or neurological problems found. No stresses other than very limited contact with the outside world because of Covid lockdowns. He’s never actually played with other kids. I’m hoping that changes soon.

I really need help worth my 2.5 year old son. I believe he’s autistic and is non verbal, it’s obvious and getting any help is so so hard, and lonely. Is there any help/advise you can give to help promote speak and simple words
He’s not pointing, more babbling and he will grab you by the hand and take you to where he wants you to go and is extremely sensory

That can be tough definitely speak with his pediatrician if you are concerned.

If the Child is not giving you I contact but is being active and everything you're doing with them, only then is the eye contact not important.

Not too sure about your comments to do with "appropriate" play...seems like a generalization and untrue. Kids play on a continuum in a more or less advanced manner.
My three yr old does not talk at all. He understands and follows directions very well. I can sit in bed and ask him to go get a cup from the kitchen and he can do it. He can dress himself, load the dishwasher, clean, even put puzzles together. Yet for him to be so smart and do everything like other toddlers even advance things.... No one can tell me why he doesn't talk. I know he can hear. He can hear me opening a chip bag from the next room 🙄 my two yr old says only a few words apple, trash, thanks, go, bye yay yay, hi Daddy, some, ohh no. And her understanding is just as advanced as his and they are helpful and very independent. Yet not talking. 🤷🏾♀️🤦🏾♀️ Help

He understands almost everything and is totally social and doing imitation, great eye contact, pointing at things, bubbling... But doesn't want to say a word. Maybe few words like bye when he is waving or hello while he is pretending he is on the phone. How can I help him? Do I have to worry if there is something more serious than just speech delay? Update: my son 5 now. Is still a bit delayed with his speech (he talks just a bit hard sometimes to understand him). But now he's talking more and putting sentences together, he's reading, writing and spelling big words. I'm just hoping with his progress we will understand him a bit more when he talks. The same for my 4 year old. Giving all that they are way advanced with learning, so I'm pretty excited about that. Repetition truly works wonders to help with speech.
Please try to speak more slowlely so we can understand clearly
Her pace is fine. If you are having an issue, you can slow down the video so she talks slower in the actual video and it’ll be at the speed you need 👍🏽
