@@Slyfox1775 everythings digital even your hard copy. Hince the reason you have to install the game before Playing even though you own a disc. Only difference is if you bought the hard copy you have to buy another if it's damaged. Hard copies of games are a scam bro. It's all digital already the discs are just physical copies of the activation key don't believe me start up one your games and eject the disc, game will continue to play and won't require you to put the disc back in unless you close it out and wanna reboot it.

You are completely ignoring that people are not buying games and consoles right now cause of the economy. People don’t have the money to buy these things anymore. Hell my grocery bill has tripled to where it was when I bought my PS5. Makes household income really tight
The only thing I really don't understand with MS is the closing of the old games sales. They talk about preservation, and playing the legacy games on your new system, but... they are closing down the ability to buy the games in a couple months. I find that sad... and confusing.
The old games that are for sale in the Xbox store on the new consoles will still be there. Only the games that aren't backwards compatible won't be available to purchase.
They're closing down the 360 store, basically because no one is using it and they aren't going to support it forever. They moved everything they could into the backwards compatible program but they couldn't get everything because of licensing.

I bought a couple that I really wanted to play and possibly still own the 360 discs for. I just dunno where those discs are, so it just made sense to buy them on a sale through the MS store
I just picked up an xbox last week because I wanted to play 360 games. Being able to play xbox, xbox one, and x games is a major bonus.
You can also emulate GameCube, Wii, PS1,PS2 games and many other older consoles

I would say consoles are so good that the latest console is not necessary if the old version still runs all the games - so no need to replace what works
I agree to a point. I skipped PS4. I went for PS3 to PS5. I also skipped Xbox one. Went from 360 to X. PS5 I was able to get the games from PS4 that I wanted to play. Same thing with X.
I went ahead and bit the bullet, and got me my series x Friday, what a great time to have gotten one since I was gaming on the Xbox one s had to see how the series was going to do first

I Will keep buying xbox consoles. I did it in the past and i Will again. Usually i wait 4 to 8 months to buy it. I have ps5, xbox series x and PC. Love playing on them.

My biggest problem with all the new consoles is the fact that it takes a monthly subscription to play online multiplayer games. I am still using the Xbox One and rarely have an active subscription. It’s just not worth it to me at this point. That is what keeps me from buying additional games and using Xbox more often. Most of the new games are all multiplayer focused and have little to no single player game… so you have to pay monthly to play. I mean… I already spent plenty of money buying the console, headsets, extra controller, batteries and an average of $60-$80 per game…. This is where all of the current generation consoles are going wrong in my opinion.
The economy is so bad people are focused on surviving and not gaming. No one has time to have fun nowadays.😢

You gotta remember when this generation of Xbox first started, it was kinda hard for a typical person to get their hands on a Series X console for about a year and a half. I think sales would have been better at the beginning if they were more prepared.
I agree Ray, give me a console experience or bust. If I wanted to be on the pc eco system I would be on there with steam and epic game stores. Maybe I’d use game pass some on pc to play games I already own on the Xbox ecosystem but I mostly enjoy the console tv couch combo to relax to.
Most options have AMD hardware now. The only difference between them is, their OS. You either have: Linux (of some form), Winderps (crapware), or whatever the console version is.
I bought a series x the other day and it is awesome. Man i love that thing. Best 500$ ive spent in a while. Very satisfied and would recommend getting one if at all possible. I know its expensive but it really is worth it.
I have 4 xbox consoles, how many do they think I'm going to buy, as the games got bigger in storage they take longer to make plus how many times can you re invent the wheel
The only snag with handheld consoles is storage space, and the major snag is the price of the storage for Xbox Series X/S and only have one supplies Seagate 1 and 2tb and WD 1tb all far to expensive if price was cheaper or if you could put in a NVMe M.2 into the consoles like Playstation that would be ideal as these are quite cheap to purchase and put in.

Budget consoles cmon? you really think you’re saving money? barely on the base console price only which my advice would’ve been go for X over the S it’s just better in every way the only money you save is that initial base console price which isn’t enough to matter tbh but whatever makes you feel like you’re saving money.

Because in the end, game prices are the same, so it doesnt suit me paying 70 dollars for a game that runs kinda of poorly on S when for the same price i can play it with better performance and resolution on series X. I think series S is good for the casual gamer who use it solely for game.pass. Im playing on my series S more than on my ps5 but i can clearly see the differences between both consoles.

I think a handheld makes total sense but it needs to be scalable, it can't be less powerful than an Xbox One X but with the speed and comparability of the Series S.
I hope they keep consoles. I much prefer the Xbox UI, controller, and ecosystem to PS.

the real reason why people are not buying consoles is not "lack of killer exclusives". It 's because high inflation all over the world, low income, high cost of living. Most working class people struggle to pay the bills and put food on the table. Ain't no "regular folk" got spare money laying around to spend on consoles and super expensive games...

"Technical leap" doesn't necessarily mean they are chasing raw power. It could mean something more innovative. Maybe it could be referring to use of AI with NPUs or maybe just the handheld. Point is, technical leap could literally be anything.
Thats exactly what i thought. I think they mean it in an innovative way like the use of A.I. particularly. Or the combination of A.I. and xbox cloud. In the handheld division i dont think they will achieve something new, maybe xbox series S performance which will be really good tbh.

The possibility of a new console to slip in and take a spot alongside the big three is slowly happening. Dreamcast 2 comes along and renews interest with Sega dropping it's remakes of old IPs and new games from other developers. A new eco system where everyone benefits.

Microsoft should meld the PC and Console together. Make a small tower device that is able to be upgraded with quick swap parts, BUT has a console OS so no drivers or settings to tweak like windows. Better Yet make it dual boot so it functions like or similar to a PC with a Windows OS. So pretty much a Microsoft "Desktop" version of the Steam Deck.
I DEFINITELY want an Xbox handheld. Look I love cloud play and playing on my Galaxy fold 5.. HOWEVER..!!! I DON'T LIKE TAKING UP MY PHONE TO DO THAT!! Whilst streaming I typically can't talk to people or even listen to music as good lol. So to have a dedicated device to bring around with me and play Xbox on would be badass

They may even partner with other companies for some projects. The rumor mill is rampant with switch 2 rumors. At the same time the rumors are spinning about a Microsoft portable. WHAT IF Microsoft designed a beastly portable and Nintendo handled marketing? Strong hardware plus strong marketing could be a thing. I know that sounds extremely unlikely but now a days I can't really rule out anything.

I really don’t agree with decline of system sales due to exclusives, why would anyone buy a system today with Xbox talking about new system to be announced this holiday season, same for ps and the new pro coming out this holiday season.

Cost of living hurts console sales. Plus, I think people are turning to PC. It is just an overall better experience and it means that the TV is free for other people in the house while you game. I'm not sure why console is a thing anymore... it all went downhill after the xbox 360. Give me a PC and an xbox controller and I'm a happy man. A good example of why is trying to play a city builder on console sucks, give me mouse and keyboard for that. Playing dark souls or a souls like game, I'll take the controller. PC is just just more versatile.
If console wants to continue then hand held is the way of the future. It offers something the PC doesn't. Portability.

I feel they need to continue to develop and sell the console hardware. The model of the console market has always been taking a loss on the console in order to make profits off of games and accessories. I feel they need to look at improving at providing games at first day console launches and tying in franchises to their console. The best example was the first Xbox and Xbox 360. MS still have a lot of damage to overcome from the Xbox One launch. I also understand developing hardware similar to PCs, but would it help to develop personalized hardware like the 360, but ensure the developer kits are very user friendly?
If you don't sell that many consoles, don't make any extra. You can still make a profit. Micro breweries compete with big breweries. They have better quality and they make fewer and they make a profit.

I’m disabled and poor with only cellular phone Internet so I only have a Xbox 360 but I was wondering is the Xbox Series S really better then Xbox one X?
If most of us didn’t have to work a 60 hr week just to live decently, maybe we would buy more gaming stuff and devote the time we use too.
You got to take in consideration the kids and teens that parents won’t buy them a PC to play a subscription, consoles are important for the future of new players no matter how low the sales, if there’s not console then a lot of kids won’t leap into gaming, we know that generations burn out and die and if we can’t have consoles to ignite the future generations then gaming might just die along with our generation.
I didn’t buy all the Xbox’s I’ve bought for the console. I bought it for the games. I’ve been burned by more that a couple games this generation by Xbox. I won’t be buying day 1 anymore. I’m having more fun playing smaller indie or AA games than the big AAA and that goes for PS as well. Xbox will need to do a lot in order to get my goodwill back
Why not just give us an update to give the full power of the xbox series x. Sells would go up after that

Phil has already said multiple times that exclusives kill the gaming experience. When you buy a game it shouldn't be restricted by which platform to play it on. So much so even tight arse Sony is loosening it's thoughts on the subject with their exclusive games. In contrast to consoles many people are BUILDING a nice mid budget gaming PC for the best gaming experience that does more then gaming. Parents will still gift grab a console around Xmas or so but those days are numbered and the countdown has begun.

Another huge thing to mention is Xbox isn’t making new hardware right now. They haven’t released a pro/elite controller revision since 2019, they didn’t make a XSX slim, and they haven’t made new headsets or VR stuff.
I think they are focused on handheld and next gen hardware already

More power does matter it just has to be a different leap and consoles it can’t be just 120 Hz at 4K has to be something super crazy like the graphics except they look totally different or something like that has to be on the level of a PC great bottleneck

I'm a gamer and play on all platforms. I have yet to buy a xbox x series and a PS5 to replace my old gen consoles. I do play my Sons PS5 cuz my work buddies play on the ps5. Just don't see wasting money on subpar hardware and there very lack of HD space it's Ridiculous to only have 1tb in these new gen consoles when most games are passing 100gbs lol I will continue playing on my PC tell these charges lol. Or the price drops way more than 50 dollars

I would buy consoles if I didnt have to choose between gaming and rent and gas for my car and food. The last console I bought was the Xbox one like 10 years ago. at one time I would have bought both Playstation Nintendo and Xbox consoles. If my mom had not gotten me a Quest 2 for Christmas I dont think Id have any kind of new tech. hell my computer is now 11 years old and can not be upgraded anymore I am surprised it runs windows 10 lol but I cant play any games on it anymore. How ever I think I am going to build me a new gaming PC anyways I can afford a few parts at a time. Cant do that with consoles.
There will be some device, and some way of bypassing the App in order to play the Console. There always is, and it needs to happen. The App is what Microsoft will use to block People whether it's from Wrong Speech and Thoughts, or from something else. That will be the Main Tool they use.
Unfortunately since the series s and x have been out there's almost no consoles in store's. It's no wonder hardware is down since they've provided stores with no consoles. This is a redonkulous thing for Microsoft to say since it's their own damn fault in the first place. How can anyone buy anything if none of the store's have product's to sell in the first place.
The fact that Xbox hardware sales are in decline shouldn’t be a surprise considering Microsoft has telegraphed that new hardware is arriving this summer. Why would anyone run out and buy the current generation when they can wait a couple of months to get the latest and greatest. Or possibly the current generation on clearance. Just a thought.
That's actually what I'm waiting on. I'm praying my ps4 from 2015 will keep limping along until black Friday, and then I'm hoping to snag a discounted console when stores are trying to clear shelf space for the newer console.

I hope Jess Corden is still working on busting those Trolls on Xbox. From what I found out they've infiltrated every Game, Feed, and Chat on Xbox. Worst part is Microsoft isn't doing anything about them, and seems to be encouraging it, and giving Special Status and Treatment to the Trolls when they get Reported.

The xbox series x is still as much as it was at launch... while ps5 has dropped significantly especially in the uk... not only that the big reason is that there has not been games exclusively for the series x... that make use of its hardware but the main killer is the backwards and multi format gaming... whats the point of going out and buying a series x if you can play the same game on the xbox one... so your 100% correct their approach is wrong for years people have bought next gen consoles for the new games.... i hate it and its pointless if they keep this up they wont need to bring new consoles out and they will killl them off
Console sales are down, because X-box can't sell consoles, PS5 is not selling 1st party games, Switch is ending.
The only thing that will make me buy a new xbox (i have a one x) is if the shattered space starfield dlc isnt available on gamepass... i play starfield (700hours so far) thru my samsung zfold and an hdmi dongle ... it plays the same on my tv as the console does (actually better bc my phine gets up to 120fps... so unless i HAVE to fownload content for starfiled i wont buy a new console...actually if it wasnt for the fact gamepass is included in my verizon cell bill and playable from my phone i wouldnt even game js...having to dedicate space money and all that, on something, i gotta replace in a couple years... i dont want to keep buying consoles...im old 8ve bought way too many in my life
