I know the solo for floods gets a lot of props for being an emotional solo and it is. But this solo has always been damn good to me here some 25 years later.
I don't know what it is. I can't pin point it, but this solo, particularly and really from like 0:42-0:49, it's just like someone is singing their pain to you. That's the best I can describe it. It's like someone is wailing, and it's expressed just in that short 7-8 seconds, and it's pure metal magic.
All of dimebag solos are on my top list. Every Single One. No exception Thanks for the cover, sounds absolutely amazing man. Rock on and RIP Dimebag Darrell
Hahaha thats a great analogy. Never thought of it that way 👌. Dime had the tones and the technique and all that good stuff, but i think his TOUCH on the guitar was often overlooked. An ultra strong grip with the left hand - not a single iota of fret-buzz or misplaced/unintentional sound coming from there, and a feather-light right hand/pick. Just had a gorgeous and powerful feel to every note he played. Magical dude
There is so much emotion in Dime's solos, it's insane how one person can make a guitar cry, scream, wail and sing at the same time. I've never heard solos that can invoke so much emotion my god
I dont know how to play guitar but I'm gonna try in the future but I keep rewinding this over and over im not kidding its that good. Makes me emotional in a good way.
First off...that was the closest I've ever heard that solo played to "feel"...you know what I mean.. Dime's solos are almost impossible to recreate, cuz we , as guitarists, all have a different feel... but great job! I can tell you truly admire Dime and his work!
Dime would be proud to know that those of us (like YOU Ola!) Play Dean's (because of HIM!) and take the time to learn his shit note for note!! Yes; I think he's very proud indeed!! I'm smokin a big spliff, and having a blacktooth grin in your honor brother!! (Coz I know you'd like it like that!) Tears of December! Yeah! Rip it up Ola! Darrell is still here! In my heart, head, & ears!! 🤘 V⚡
For me that's Dimebags best solo, I just love it, because 10s is such a dark song with dark lyrics and then like a ray of light that solo hits in. Just great music on a masterpiece of an album. The trendkiller record has all what Pantera was about. Ultraheaviness and on the other hand beauties like 10s, Suicide note 1 and Floods.
Yes sir black on cream neck p/u great tone. Nice picking my friend from Sweden. Love your work since I've noticed you more than a year now bless you and your lovely family. Keep rocking!
i am making a cover of this song right now an am learning the solo an its not a technically hard solo but its odd implementation that dime uses is so different. i love learning dimes solos makes me look at solos and making solos soooo different an he was so creative with his solos. for me his strange hick bends and how he uses his bends is hard for me to do cuz i am not that good with bending into notes perfect yet. but yea love it!
Bro this is the best cover ever and dont worry about the face I do the same thing. Sometimes the faces make for an amazing playability. You nailed it bro I'm proud of you!!!! One love
I would love to learn this solo, could you post a video teaching it? The slow parts are ok but the fast ones are hard to learn and I can't find anything in the internet that helps me
Cavaleiro Clássico there is absolutely no lessons on this song on the internet, its not very hard to learn the main riffs by ear but the solo is tricky
Cars and Guitars I know you don’t care, but it is a small world..I have number 42 of 50 of the boogiebolt 2 (the last Washburn dime ever made) circa 2007
That is the coolest most expensive looking Dime guitar I've ever seen!
It's called the Boogie Bolt
@@meathammer652 LOL
@No Name no name
Same
That’s a funkie monkey model, and yes, it’s very expensive.
The bend at 00:51 always gives me goosebumps. This solo just has so much god-damn soul, one of my favorites for sure.
My ones at 0:48 and yes I definitely agree with you, so good and probably my favourite.
Thank you Dime
0:47
Floods.... Just saying.
@@chrislopez2397 that's the most emotional note of the whole solo it kicks my ass everytime I hear it
@@yourface3154 Floods is great but 10's solo hits different, totally on another level imho.
0:46 it just sounds godly
Agree bro
Amazing but still needs a bit more desperation in that whammy bar to reach Dimebag's level, it's just raw emotion
I know the solo for floods gets a lot of props for being an emotional solo and it is. But this solo has always been damn good to me here some 25 years later.
What is the solo from?
@@datboi4216 Pantera 10´s, from The Great Southern Trendkill album
@@Aaron-ts4ym thank you
@@Aaron-ts4ym oh my bad I’m stupid I read 10’s thinking he meant top 10 or something. Sorry bout that
This was my favorite solo on that album. Under rated absolute gold.
Rarely can something bring up emotions in me. 10s is one of those things. I'm on a verge of crying everytime I hear it.
"Long for the blur" is a haunting line

@@nobodyschannelyuo can feel the guitar talking to you
Never seen a guitar detailed THAT beautifully. WOW.
These Ola covers made me dust off my old Pantera records and give them another listen. Holy shit the Live 101 Proof album is great... such raw power.
Am I weird for thinking the run from 0:30 to 0:34 is one of the most beautiful and dark scale runs of Dime’s? I love that bit every time I hear it
I love the howling sound
The best solo ever. So much soul. Dime did perfect
This guitar is SO gorgeous!! Too the point it hurts my eyes after a bit!
Man one of my favorite Dimebag solos
Tied with Floods as favorite Dime solo.
Nice work... and great audio/video quality compared to most of the shit on UA-cam.
AND both are in the same album
Same here my 2 favs.
How bout some love for the domination solo?
dude listen to the sleep or it makes them disappear
Ola and Wes Hauch need to do a video together doing nothing but Pantera riffs!
agreed!!!!
Dimes bends and composition were always on point, never robotic always expressive something I have seen so many incredible players forget.
All of dimebag solos are on my top list.
Every
Single
One.
No exception
Thanks for the cover, sounds absolutely amazing man. Rock on and RIP Dimebag Darrell
Dimebag is just heavier version of Gilmour lol
Quantum Dave I've been saying that for years, they're two of my favorite players and WAY more similar than they are different.
not a bad thing to be
Hahaha thats a great analogy. Never thought of it that way 👌. Dime had the tones and the technique and all that good stuff, but i think his TOUCH on the guitar was often overlooked. Get ya pull. Thinking of you today Dime. You live on through peeps like Ola. Legends never die
The howl at 0:33 is the greatest moment in the history of music
The Great Southern Trendkill was such a completely killer album. This track, along with Floods, always takes me somewhere else. Great release.
Man this solo gives me chills. I come back to watch you play this every week Ola, inspiring!!
The words haven't been created yet to describe this solo. Fucking amazing is as close as it can get.

One of my all time favorite solos and I just discovered it.

Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan
DIMEBAG: The Legendary Super Guitarist
Honestly how I came across Pantera.
I'm glad you did this one! Maybe THE best of all the Dime's solos in my opinion.

That Dime tone. Impeccable.
This is definitely one of my favorite Dime solos!
Will always love how dime made the lick sound like it was also drinking
I’ve never seen a Dime guitar like that. The lighting looks like little bits of shattered glass. Looks and sounds amazing.
Alright Ola, you're a beast. Would you mind giving We'll Meet Again a shot from the Power Metal album?
