- Pantera Floods Solo cover. From the album The Great Southern Trendkill.
I already made a cover of this but to the original CD, so I made this one with my own backing track. Hope you'll enjoy!

The outro is so melodic it has a special place in my heart
YaBoiZe ur not alone man
I once had a nasty break up after around 8 years of being together and I sat in a parking lot stoned listening to floods nice and angry. Then the outdo hit me and I cried like a fucking baby right there in my car. Helped me get over it. Dimebag was very special to many people.
s p o o o o o o p same
yeah , all of our hearths have a special place for this outro
Same
one of the greatest pieces of music in history
I laughed way too hard at your name. 😂
I feel like it's just a super underrated Pantera album in general. People go ape shit over Vulgar and Far Beyond Driven, but Cowboys and Trendkill are my personal favorites.
@@ShredHeadJHJ exactly
Shred Head straight up facts.they indeed are(for me at least)the best pantera albums.
I like your name
Now cover Domination. It was Dime's favorite song, and I think it would do him justice.
Wasn't it cowboys from hell?
Rachin Srisakulchawla He's said in an interview it was his favorite, and he even had a tattoo dedicated to the song. Cowboys From Hell would be bad ass too.
thanks jen chinman
Dick Baguette check DeanML1986 cover. He looks like a young Rex Brown
In my humble opinion, this is Dimebag's crowning achievement. Such a great perfect solo, imho of course.
The bass tone is gorgeous
its the first thing i noticed and Im a guitar player...
It does sound incredibly nice... Definitely my nr. 2 favorite bass sound. I'm more of a djent guy myself, so I love the metalic sound a bit more.
It sounds a lot like Rex Brown's original bass track, but Ola says this is his own backing track.
I own a darkglass Microtube 900.. Get this sound
Kaspar Marius Jota For bass...?
Damn, I don't think this solo will ever stop giving me chills. Dedicated to all the "Clapton did it better, metal has no feeling." crowd.
I agree
Not easy to double the solo and play it so tightly! That was impeccable, Ola!
Wes Hauch did a flawless cover too, check it out if you havent
@@user-vb2of3qi2v Wes has the cleanest picking out there. Him and Per Nilsson have crazy fingers.
it's the same video from different angle smh
@@djentchannel4666 no its not
@@leoanranjit yes it is😐
man the outro always give me chills
1:23 on is the most beautiful thing I've ever heard
Pick up that guitar and learn it, just move that same shape up and down, you can do it
I think 0:32 to 0:36 is close
1:22
I started to cry listening to the outro because me and my dad would listen to this but he sadly passed and me and him shared a love for the art of dimebag and the love of playing guitar.
Dime bagged diamondback in a barrel named Darrel
This is the closest cover to the original I've ever had the pleasure of watching and listening to.
You've captured everything from the sound, to the feeling and emotions that Dimebag put into the composition.
He was definitely smiling up there when you recorded this.
I can tell just by the way you're playing this just how much of an impact he made on you both musically and spiritually.
Keep on keeping on, my metal brother!

Buy Ola's feard records/merch and support the channel and Ola?
You could always sub and share it
Somewhere Dime just cracked a Coors light & smiled. 🍻🤘👍
Coors Light!?!?!?
LIGHT?
What the fuck did you just say?
Light 🗿
Nah, a shot of Jaeger ;)
One of the greatest songs of all time, Dime was a demigod
Happy 50th brother...I learned this solo just for you last night. Shine on you crazy dimebag!!!
Imma try to learn this solo its gonna be tough tho.. I'm not really that good at guitar but I could play a few songs...
@@painguitars1635 Hey! No need to say "Im not that good." Everything comes with practice. I know you hear that alot but its true! The first Pantera solo I learned was the one in "Walk" it was a PAIN but now i got it up to speed. And even though ive only played 3 years I would say that im a pretty decent player. Good luck mate!
RIP Syd Barrett and Dimebag Darrell 🖤
@@painguitars1635 the first part is not hard (the part before all that pentatonic stuff). Learn how to do pinch harmonics (tips: bridge pickup, lots of gain)
the hardest part is nail every pinch harmonic
Could one argue that this was Dime's greatest solo? I certainly think so. Lovely playing Ola, reminds me of the famous live performance...u'know the one where Phil shouts "everyone smoke heroin" at the start of the solo
I don't know if it was his best, but it's definitely my favorite. The emotion that Dime conveyed through every note was amazing, and this cover by Ola gets me in the same way. Bravo!
neat

Cheers,I've always thought this was (my favorite) its too hard to pick Dimes best, but I know what you mean. So good
My top 3 dime solos : 1 - Cemetery gates
2 - Domination
3 - Floods
This song was playing when vinnie ran into dimes arms in heaven...
Together again in metal heaven🙏🥀🥀
This makes me reflect on life. We'll see our loved ones again when our time comes
I really hope so
It's like Eddie and Randy had a baby. Too long gone, Dime.
It's like dime and dime had a baby. Ffs stop comparing everything.
what a... beautiful image you etched into my brain...
Now they're all gone...
This is a bit of a tear jerker. Really missing Dimebag really badly. :(
Well done Ola. Honouring our true legend.
Dime may be gone, but he is never forgotten!!!!
It’s weird because the solo got so sad after dimebag died
We need to petition Phil Anselmo to get Ola to play guitar with his band on the upcoming Slayer tour!
When you hear the beginning of the album, never you think that this could happen 😂
This song really does show what a legacy dimebag left behind R.I.P dimebag
The people who dislike this vid have not heart for the great and legendary Dimbag
Yes you're right but hearing this makes me miss DIMEBAG even more
The outro is one of those few sounds that will always be a nostalgic sound simultaneously from past present and future, like a moment In time that combines all moments into one that has yet to be experienced and draws you in from the infinite and just when you are about to grasp the wisdom of it, it lingers just past your fingertips and pulls you deeper into the void.
You mean liminal?
I closed my eyes and thought for a moment that Dimebag is still alive. Thanks man, cool, very cool and impressive.
I want this outro especially played on loop during my funeral.
The intro takes me to the 80s waking up on a rainy morning
R I P dimebag and vinny😓🤘🤘
Everytime I hear this song it makes me so sad. Dimebag was such an awesome person and the ending to this song is the perfect tribute to his legacy! RIP DIME🥺
The outro gives me goosebumps every single time I hear it. Floods is such a beautifully composed piece of music overall
Had this solo stuck in my head and couldn’t think of which damn pantera song it was
I think this song is Dime’s best work.
I love it! especially that ending, one of the best pieces of music ever written
Dime died on my 16th birthday, I started playing guitar just a couple years before. At the time of his death, he was one of my most prominent influences. He will be sorely missed. Masterpieces like this however, will carry on and echo into the ages. I listen to music like this and it reminds me of how incredibly fortunate I am to be on this earth in a time with it.
The outro is a masterpiece. I get tears everytime I hear it. Beautiful RIP DIME & VINNIE
this is irresistible. i can’t stop. it’s so beautiful. we miss you dimebag. we all do.
The ending always makes me want to cry. Like I've known dime and I miss him.
One of the greatest pieces of music ever written. Dimebag could quite literally make his guitar talk
If I didn't see Ola playing it, I would've thought it was Dimebag. That was really impressive because that's not very easy to do.
You know Dime is Ola's inspiration when Ola achieves to make a perfect solo
I don't lie when i say that it gives me goosebumps everytime, even if i have heard it 1mill+ times. Dime was truly a diamond!!
That outro still sends shivers down my spine. What a legendary musician he was :(
i don’t know how to explain how special this piece is, i don’t know what it is but it’s a weird unexplainable feeling when you hear this…it’s almost like it’s nostalgic from when i was a child, it reminds me of having to go back and forth to my moms and dads house when i was younger and looking back not knowing or having any care in the world because i was young. now that i’m a teeenager i listen to this and get emotional knowing that i’m not a kid anymore and that life moves by fast. i know for a fact that this song was a gift to me and others from Dimebag and he meant the emotions we was portraying. RIP DIME
Holy shit, my favorite PanterA solo because of feeling and you cover it. It's Insane
Floods solo > Cemetery Gates solo
Nope
Global warming Ltd Nope
What about walk
Enjoying the music > comparing solos
NO!!!!
This solo and outro is making me cry and one of my favorite songs from Pantera and great work there and RIP Dimebag och Vinne
Every time, every damn time. This solo is just a pure masterpiece and it's my absolute favorite solo
The solo is awesome in this song, maybe the best he ever did, but the outro always moved me for some strange reason. I'll always love this song, and if anyone ever asks me what song sums up dimes abilities the best the answer will always say floods. Thanks Ola for always helping keep his spirit alive through your videos.
This brings tears to my eyes as we all have lost a talent, that in one way or another, we have a reason why this song is special! #THEDIMEBAG
Substantially perfect! You got me choked up and made me shed a tear. Forever DIME! CFH! Thank you for this Ola.
This song is one of the only pieces of music composed ever that will bring a tear to my eye everytime i hear it.
one day people will know that this video has one of the best melodies ever written,RIP dime🖤
Am i the only one in love with the tone in the beggining?
This straight up legit brought tears to my eyes Ola. Remembering DIME and knowing so many people who have felt his impact in their lives and miss him so much. Thanks for honouring him so well mate. Love from Australia mate!!
You gave me chills with this one Ola.
that outro is so fucking good..
I really like your cover. Even more the outro. So great guitar sound !
just beautiful
One of my favorite solos Dime ever recorded.. So much emotion, so much building intensity!
Does anyone else feel emotional listening to the outro? 🥲
One cannot "just" cover a song like this. One has to play it right.
I think you passed with honors
Thank you Ola. Never let his memory die. This solo brings tears to my eyes every time I hear it.
There exists a parallel universe where Dime is still rocking, that is my belief system in nut shell 🤘
Great cover, hugs from Amazonas state of Brazil
Luan Araújo salve mlk
GOD bless you, bro! I'm impressed to tears...
_(sorry, english is not my origin language)_
Hearing this outro sends chills down my spine every time. I always go back to Floods from time to time because of it. Great job on this Ola!
one of the greatest pieces of music ever
RIP DIME!!
nice dime tone
words can't even describe how much I love the solo and outro to this song. Chills every time
warmed my heart ! thank You Ola !
the hair stood up on my arms
That was beautiful man. Outro just screams dime walking through the gates of heaven.
Wow, just amazing!
Probably my favorite solo ever done.
Is "Floods" the new "Stairway to Heaven "?... if you grew up when I did then yes
Why the Fortin Grind into the Satan? Since the Satan already has the girth and grind
A pedal boost is still different.
I used it just to overdose the overdrive to get more of a dime-like sound. I would normally not use as much gain. Just for the purpose of this video
+Ola Englund I've never saw a flat black stealth
Killer!
EXTREMELY rare guitar, it is called a Washburn 3ST
One of the greatest pieces of music ever. Nice cover!
The outro is stunning
Could you do a tutorial on how to get a dime-ish sound?
If you are using VST, I can tell you what to do.
+TheMates1994 what?
well, do you know something about VST plugins? if not, it's meaningles to continue.
+TheMates1994 obviusly that's why I answered you ☺
I'm currently using bias and some delay and chorus vsts
which tone did you use after the solo? hope you'll answer my query .. nice cover though dude
Keep hoping
Delay
I feel I can cry with this solo, but at the same time it is so good and it brigs calm to my soul.
Best song by Pantera. Awesome cover.
sounds just like the man himself. nice job
That outro started alt metal and post grunge
Magic. Thank you Ola for this cover
PERFECTION- Ola, do Death - Voice of the soul
Beautiful. But The Sleep solo is the best guitar solo ever played in human history.
missed a note towards the beginning of the solo.. also missed the most important pinch harmonic in the whole solo.. but overall pretty decent.
😍👏....this sounds so beautiful 💗 makes me miss Dimebag even more 😢
This solo gives me chills and you nailed it!!!!! That outro too. Makes you want to cry.
Perfect Harmonics - AWESOME
My favorite Dime guitar solo, true masterpiece
It got sooo much of emotions in that solo. You caught them all.
This will always be the most beautiful riff and solo in music history. R.i.p dimebag. Greatest of all time 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
absolutely beautiful...I love this solo so much....r.i.p. dimebag
Jesus!!! This is by far my favorite Dime solo! And you nailed it!!!! Thank you for sharing Ola!!! The first time I heard this solo I cried.
I get the chills every time I hear this solo.
That tone is gorgeous
