I own a mountanier and to lock the car, you need to simultaneously press the bottom 2 buttons. The honking means start the engine. Also try checking in front of the front right seat where there is a cabinet which could have something, Good Luck!👍
Ok, the very first step you should do is to drive the vehicle off of that property and onto where you can legally park (outside your own base for example). Because you have a key, and believe it has been abandoned, you are removing the abandoned vehicle from a location the property owner most likely did not give permission for it to be at, and taking responsibility for making an effort to find the car owner, as it is most likely the previous tenant. You are then allowed to look through the car to attempt to find proof of ownership. As long as the reason is for attempting to find the owner of the vehicle that you have secured on their behalf, you wont get in trouble for searching it. You can also contact the DMV to tell them you have an abandoned vehicle on the property that you have a key for, and pay for the VIN number search to find the owner. Beyond this, it depends on the specific city laws where you live. some places allow you to claim abandoned vehicles. But at least at this point you searched the car for any more clues
Brilliant! I didn’t even think about the fact that like if you’re specifically trying to find the owner it would be ok but it makes sense honestly. I hope Mathias sees this cause that is very helpful!
My family has lots of lawyers. I asked them and they said that if it is abandoned you may do a reasonable search to find its owner. Every car has a VIN number which can show it's last REGISTERED owner. You have to go through a lien sale process to have ownership of the car to go through it, own it, or even get rid of it. IN CALIFORNIA that process will take 2 to 3 weeks. The keys mean nothing about ownership of the car. Even tho you do technically have the key you do not have the ownership of the car. FOR THE LIEN SALE PROCESS you must have proof that the car has been abandoned. Also, you can call the last registered owner if you like. I really hope this helps Matt.
....im sure a truck like this had been in another vid....not this channel but i think a team edge vid...sorry dont remember x will be looking through them again to find if im right x
it is fake theres no way that key they found would turn on that suv. it has to have a black end to the key which inside of it is a chip to turn on the car without the chip it wouldnt start at all
By California State law: How long does a car have to be abandoned before you can claim it in California? 72 hours An abandoned car is one the owner has forsaken on public or private property for at least 72 hours. Abandoned cars are typically damaged, inoperative, or dismantled. The state of California has taken a stance against abandoned cars. It believes abandoned vehicles decrease property value, attract vandals, and create safety hazards for the public. Abandoned cars can also be involved in car accidents and cause an issue for those trying to hold an owner responsible. To help prevent an accumulation of abandoned vehicles, California has instated specific related laws. I think you sould post a picture on UA-cam of all the key numbers then people can look at them and maybe have some ideas. Hope this helps Matt.
Is the car abandoned? Yes, according to my research the car is abandoned. “but any motorized vehicle left on your property for 48 to 72 hours or more is usually considered abandoned.” “With the consent of the private property owner a car may stay as long as the owner consents, however, without oral or written consent, it becomes up to the owner of the space to remove it. (Note: it’s generally the same for public properties, but there are nuances.)” - Abandoned Cars on Private Property by Nicky LaMarco What can you do about the car? Call the local police to give a description of the car and ask if it is involved with some not-so-legal activities. If it is confirmed that it is or was not involved with criminal activities you have to: 1. Post on your local social networks and ask if the car belongs to someone. 2. Ask your neighbors if it is their car or if they know the person who ‘owns’ the car. If nothing comes from that you have two options: 1. Have it towed 2. Claim the car The first option is easier than the second, but I believe you may claim it. “Most areas have a waiting period before you can legally claim an abandoned vehicle. Again, researching the laws is a must. Some states require you to prove what is called a “good-faith effort” to find its owner.” - Abandoned Cars on Private Property by Nicky LaMarco. Please follow the law (not saying it because I think you won't I'm just saying). Currently asking a lawyer about it. Ps. Thanks for all the likes it will really help the team to see the comment Also, also I just lost my grandmother so Matthias I know what your going through and all the advice I can can give you is 1. He's in a better place 2. Please take care of yourself, if you need to take some time of please do we will understand 3. Know we send our condolences and our love OK guys an update I found that there are websites that allow you to search license plate numbers and Vin numbers , maybe the license card Tanner mentioned has a number on that they can search for the owner
thank you so much for this because most of us don't even know about any of this so you explaining all of this makes a huge difference! Thank You. This Will help Matt and his team out A lot!
Hey Darth.... this is in CA... Under CA law a car must be undisturbed for 96 hours to be abandoned... UNLESS it is missing a critical component such as the transmission... then it only takes 24 hours.
For funs, I did this, found the exact area the car should be, and its not there as of the 2020 maps on the google imaging. So was prob put there recently :P
! MATT, BEFORE READING, PLEASE MOVE THE CAR TO A SAFE INDOORS PLACE! SINCE THE CODE TO UNLOCK IT IS PUBLIC NOW, SOMEONE COULD UNLOCK IT EASILY ! The thing that feels off to me is.. A lot of the keys are the same size. So what if they all lead to separate vehicles. This may sound weird at first, But now It has me thinking, What if a long long time ago, That place was like a Car Dealership. And those are like keys to unsold cars, That maybe got abandoned or something due to the Dealership going out of business, Maybe look at the records of the building, And see what companies worked out of it? Edit: I've Searched a few things, Making my claim possibly more viable. Now before I go into this theory, Please note that I am unaware of the time the people before Hi5 were operating out of those buildings. But if it wasn't for long this could be very possible. The Model of Car in this video is from 1999 - 2005. So this theoretical "Dealership" Could have been in operation back then. The lack of License Plates on the cars may show this aswell. As to my knowledge Vehicles in Dealerships do not have Plates on them until they are bought and owned. You could say someone just stole them but.. Who steals license plates off cars that you don't know are owned or not. And Lastly, A suggestion. Specifically for if/when Matt Searches through the car. Look for some sort of flyer or something. As a lot of Dealerships leave little flyers in the front passenger seat, Basically thanking you for purchasing the vehicle. Or alternatively, Look for papers for the car, Maybe in the Glovebox or Trunk.
Hey Mathias this will sound really weird and scary. In my state there was a murder the car was that same exact car. He fled to California, they found him but not the car. It happend in december of 2015...... STRANGE??????
I remember hearing on the news that there was a murder and that exact same car was fleeing to CA, i don’t know where but it was in 2015 and you guys hadent been a thing yet. coincidence? i don’t know it just seems pretty weird i think you should call the cops or like you said michaels neighbor
"If it opens, and it doesn't sound an alarm... It's ours..." That made my day. Wish it were that simple! lmao, p.s lets not take another 5 months to unravel this! We don't need a break, WE NEED ANSWERS!
I think they should check the glove compartment for another key lol. side note: I reeaaalllyyy think they should dive deeper into this (with some precaution) because it has gotten so many viewers', including me, intrigued about what this all means. In other words, take the car to a safe and somewhat secluded location and search thoroughly.
This isn't a prank, no one could have the for thought for something like that, too many variables play into it, they had no idea if the car could be towed or stolen, and it had to have been there for a while. It's something much more. This really feels like a puzzle built to be solved by whoever bought the building next. You've basically entered a puzzle based mystery game but in real life.
On the first video at 32:52 you can see all red key numbers except the California key and the 155 isn't the California key. Matt's a great entertainer. If you dont go through with a fine tooth comb you won't notice.
have you ever watched a movie? thats like saying inception is real because all the variables in it. a lot of matts vlogs dont seem fake like tanner and the bang energys. im not saying its fake but just that your logic doesnt make sense
also this is not new content they've been on about this for over a year, they've had plenty of time and planning. Also whos to say they didn't throw a key or two into the box, not like we saw and memorized all the keys from past videos.
this may be a fake plot but I looked into it anyway I asked my auntie (a lawyer) about the possible reasons the license plates were missing and if this is illegal or not. Usually, a car abandoned for that long would have been towed away and destroyed, or since it is one of the last models the company has made, they may make efforts to contact the owner, but the problem is there is no license plate, therefore unless there is a phone number somewhere in/on the car, there is no way of contacting the owner. If the car belongs to patt's friend, then case over, you can ask him why he abandoned it etc... according to what my auntie says, you have to make an effort to find the owner, and if you can't then depending on the laws of your state, you may be able to claim the car. As for why the car key was in the wall, she has no clue.
@@sniperlif3 no it wasnt. ALL you people saying this need to be able to tell differences. Lol Failed at spot the differences? The SUV you are claiming is a Ford Explorer. ua-cam.com/video/uhhzTMpuLjI/v-deo.html here is the vid you guys are all claiming. Look @7:40
Dude, I want to be the kind of person that leaves the future owner of my house some kind of awesome scavenger hunt puzzle mystery clues. Too bad I have no brain for stuff like that.
that would be epic turns out its pats car he bought off his buddy and parked it there lol also they are freaking out about the plate you can do a transfer on plates
That’s true, but also the Rekeying kit was blue, and found in a brown desk. The mini safe found in the file cabnit was grey, and the file cabinet was “off white”. Technically red is the most seen color but it’s not the only color “assigned” with this mystery.
I like this idea but Sydney has a point too... *BUT* what if a different colored key has a different colored item. Like the blue keys could lead to something blue, like red= car. What if the American flag key is something to do with a flagpole near the area (I assume there is one, most companies have one outside) A time capsule maybe... Idk I just really love this video.
Yeah the way they all laugh with each other in this video it makes me sad, especially since team edge is over. my entire childhood is seriously over lmao.
Ok so... . . A car most likely wouldn’t sit there for a long amount of time without someone doing something about it. It’s already pretty sketchy with no plates, someone probably would’ve said or done something earlier. Most cars also come with 2 keys, meaning the other key could be somewhere else in all the other keys, or someone else could have it. . I would first check Google Maps/Street View to see if the car is in the same spot on the map as in real life. Google maps isn’t updated all the time, meaning that if the car is in the same spot in real life as google maps shows, the car has most likely not been touched for a while. . I would then ask someone with authority (cop, etc) to check out the car because it could be a part of a crime, or have something inside. Maybe previous owners were doing some things that they didn’t want people to find out about, so they hid the keys/evidence away hoping no one would find it. . . . . Also kinda loving watching this cause I’m invested into this ‘mystery’ and I feel like we’re all just trying to figure it out... It’s like im watching a show of the office mixed with Scooby Doo 😂😂
I am so lookin at their office on Google maps 🤣🤣 will get back to you on what I find.. also there is no street view around their office. Only in front.
There is a red car next to the office parking lot that they are in now but not in the same place as this car. It's hard to tell what kind of red car because the images aren't so great. I also am unsure how to find the date on satellite images.
Hmm.... weird. Too bad there isn’t a date, cause the satellite images could be from anytime before they were there (years ago), or from sometime recently..
No he goes and buys a car online, puts it there & tell pat what to say. The key box was obviously planted to. Read my comm I posted separate. This is so obviously fake. The car key was added to that box since that was done before. That car would of been stolen or towed in 5 years. Plus who puts their car key in a wall? THINK PEOPLE!
Okay so my default with this has always been that its just matt setting it up to have a fun "solve the mystery" style series like he did when Roze first started working there. So thats my default. However, lets consider that this is all somehow real. So first off you have enough plausible deniability throughout this escapade that you shouldnt be in any legal trouble if it comes to that, not to mention that after something like 72 hours a vehicle is considered legally abandoned. So we dont really have to worry there unless the car reveals something that you dont take to the police (gun, human remains, animal remains, even). First thing you should do is move the vehicle onto your property so it doesnt get towed in the middle of the mystery. This is legal and actually gives you permission to look through it. Next, look in the glove box and find the registration or anything else in there that could clue you into the owner of the car. There will also be a VIN number in the door of the car that you can look up who it was last registered to and when (Through the DMV). Search the car WITH GLOVES ON just in case. You dont want to get your fingerprints all over it just to find a body in the back. Also, make a duplicate of the key just in case something smooth-brained happens to the original.
Im pretty sure that Matt did say that both the ghost stuff and the key stuff was scripted when he picked up vlogging again, but they caught steam again so he decided to maybe carry on the story
@@AlmightyyCres there's actually car keys that look like house keys, so starting the engine is not fake at all, Google replacement keys and it'll come up with the key without the black end attached. So yes, that key is actually real.
Matt, 2 things. 1: doesn’t the car alarm only go off when it’s locked from the outside and open inside? And 2: since pat has seen the car in different places, and the key was in the wall for years (most likely) then who has the other key to be able to drive it around?
its because its a staged scene in a multi episode "performance" its very entertaining but just that, purely entertainment, if i found creepy keys and locked boxes id call an expert not film it, this is staged purely for the entertainment of us watching
Kevin Morrice actually, although it is put up for entertainment, it’s most likely this is real and being filmed so everything is logged and recorded in case of something like the car owner appearing. Matt/hi5 can go here is our video of what happened, what we did, why etc. I know that if I was in the same situation i would turn on my camera and start filming what’s going on so everything is on record should it be needed by say police.
It frustrates me the way they organized the keys, "how would you organize these" uM COLOR CODED!?!? I cant be the only one here, I thought that would be the first thought, considering their bases are COLOR CODED!!!
I would also go for colour coded in most scenarios but with keys, when you use these generic keychains you don't really pay attentions to the colour. Atleast in my household we don't really use specific colours for specific types of keys
(Also my name is Matthew :D) Right Matt do this: Go back to the car in 5 days, if its there go to the owners of that place it sits on, ask them if they know anyone might own it or how long its been there. Go back to the car, open it check inside search around depending on what the owners say. IF you find anything creepy you immediately call the police non emergency number because this has happened in the past im dead serious. People have done this to others and whats inside the car leads to dead bodies its really sad but its reality. Let me know what you think if you wanna reach out to me for more details or ideas im happy to give you some info so we can contact each other.
I'm seeing a lot of people warning Matt about dead bodies unless bodies are properly preserved the car would smell terrible due to heat and decomposition. But anything is possible because there's bad people out there.
@@melon_lord2239 This is true but in California someone would be able to smell the bodies, especially once they opened the doors. Plus you have an ocean and a massive desert nearby you could dump one it, why would they leave it in a busy parking lot? Other then it being able to blend in
@@melon_lord2239 Indeed you have a point but at the same time their are a lot of weirdos and smart people who can hide things but yea you do have a point.
Matt regarding Pat's roommate Matt: He's alive still! Pat: Yes Matt: Are you sure? Pat: Positive, I literally been talking to him today Matt: You talked to him today? Pat: Yes Matt: Gosh get over him. What a random response from out of nowhere 😂
If car sits for long time without driving then battery can be dead. And flat tires as well. Dust ,ashes etc should be too. That car looks too good to be there for long time.
Maybe someone has been keeping care of it on and off? Like seeing if someone had found the clues yet? I have a feeling this may be a treasure hunt the maker wants to be discovered.
well did you not see how much dust was on that when he touched the door knob on the car you can see where his fingers wiped off the dust around the door knob....
I mean, car keys don’t look like house keys 😂 Even older vehicles don’t have keys that look like that. And come on, 2015? Wouldn’t that car be more dirty on the exterior and a dead battery. I just love this bit for the cinematic stuff
Wait.... I know what’s happening here When the time comes.... At the end of the key trail They will find,........ MEGA DESK!!!! This is all a year long ruse to introduce MEGA DESK!
Back here after watching the latest upload 😂 The Key Series/ Project 863 has gone a long way, it just keeps getting better. Dang I miss the good old days, the old hi5 crew 😭 I miss hover Woods
These are my thoughts: Who would go so far to abandon a car for a prank? Who would put a safe in a wall, make elaborate instructions on how to get to it with a bunch of keys inside, and one of them leads to a car that’s been around for years. Whoever put the safe with the keys in the wall had to have put a lot of thought into this, I think you should go through the car.
I enjoy this content even if it's fake and why would they fake it for this long, but my question is if it had been abandoned for years wouldn't the battery be dead?
So uh.... sequel when? Also is it possible that one of the previous owners of that space were a car company of some sort? Like maybe they repaired cars or something so they had to get copies of the car keys and maybe they legally had to get rid of the keys when they dissolved the company.
Devis Troop he’s talked about it before. Some members of hi5 were wondering if Matt set it up and he said it wasn’t him. Plus there was no way he would have gotten that safe of keys in the wall how it was.
From Finding an weird key with 863 on it to finding a car to finding a murderer tape to words that just spawn on the wall at 3 am. it's so crazy on how far Matt come
Make a spreadsheet - have a column for the following: - Key metal color - Key brand (if applicable) - Key fob color - Key # - Any other noticeable characteristics (like the former "mountaineer" label on the key that belongs to the car) Then, filter each column by similar aspects & go from there. I love spreadsheets. I personally think this is all an elaborate ruse put together by like Amanda & Kevin, in collaboration with Izzy & whoever else does construction/repairs. If it's not, this is even better.
One thing that seems off is that Pat said that it has moved so I think that you should set up a camera to see if anyone would get in the car and drive it some how. Also there would probably be some hidden place in the car where some kind of key or password that goes to some different thing. Also is there any other cars there that seem suspicious or seem off. You also might want to check the other keys for other words or hints. The suspicious part is that they went out of business a long time ago. What if someone owned that car before. They probably put metal studs so you could not use the metal detector on the walls. ={•=•}= Why did hannah have the key in the first place that is the question, so do they have something to do with it?
Try rechecking dope or nope and Battle Universe or even cancelled channels videos and see if you see that car in the background of videos Also get in contact with the people who were at the base before and the other owners of bases that you dont own but match with red, orange and blue base Get Pat to contact his roomate and see if he has anything to do with that car Just because you have the key doesnt mean you own it because what if someone else like pats old roomate also has a key and he just lost the key and the people that use to use the base are key collecters? or that car is stolen or something of the sort? What if the people who owned it died- (idk just throwing in possible answers) if anything get police to search for fingerprints other than yours or Sams. That could lead you onto something. Like so Matt can see and i hope this helps on this crazy adventure of the keys. Edit: what if the person was a car dealer...
Even if it is someone else’s car it’s been abandoned and they bought a unit with the key so either way they legally own based off California law and common sense
Seems off to me that the car started right up. If it has been sitting since 2015 or 2017, the battery should have been long gone and you wouldn't have even heard the door chime nor been able to use that keypad. Two things that keep the battery charged are the alternator (which the car needs to be on and driven around for) and an external charger itself that can plug into a wall. Also, I'd suggest running the VIN number of it to pull up past history.
Ehhhhhh i don't know mannnnnnnnnn, my mazda had a truck battery and it started up after a year of sitting. I also had a boat that I bought from someone that hasn't used it in 3 or so years and the batteries worked perfectly.
@@malloe_ Automobile batteries will absolutely lose there charge if the car isn't ran for a period of time. All batteries operate this way. The only reason it doesn't die all the time is because the alternator charges the battery when the car is running. So yes, the car would definitely be dead if it hadn't been driven in months/years.
i disagree i do agree with car batteries dieng ove rtime but my father started a car after several years(and he didn't replace the battery) but the no flat tires thing seems like it was faked
this is weird man.... somthin seems.. off. I have seen other vehicles where any key can start then because they are just old and warn out and or have been stolen and wired to do so. Maybe that could be it. Try another key and make sure first because if it’s stolen or whatever it really could have been used for somthing you don’t wanna get involved with. Like this comment for it to get shown
So if the car isn’t in their parking lot why not ask the people of the parking lot it is in if the car belongs to anyone there, that seems like the first thing they should do and if it doesn’t belong to anyone there check the glove box and look for the registration papers and see who it belonged to
@Dylan Raber You think they would've towed it by now though. If it doesn't belong to any of the employees and it's been sitting there with no license plates don't you think it would've been removed by the property by now 🤨
without plates and a expired registration which are both fineable plus it's a model no longer made i think contacting authorities would be smart it could be a car that the past owner deemed not worth fixing or something else. im sure hi5 studio won't get in trouble especially if this car may be from a missing vehicle case and they have video on here that proves they haven't stole it so they can't get in trouble for that i don't think
Something interesting that I found was that when I was taking notes on a previous video in this series, I noticed that TS5 sounded a lot like HI5. I ran it through an alpha-numeric system and got this: TS5=20,19,5. When added, 44. HI5=8,9,5. When added, 22. 44 and 22. Then with the new keys, (I call them pawns) there is one with only the number 22 on it. Maybe there is a third digit and I'm blind, but the key itself is in the video, though I'm not entirely sure where. I've been running different key words through the alpha-numeric system like "Matt', "HI5 Studios", "Mountaineer", and "Sentry" and have been adding the numbers I get. I've also been following the colour pattern and have been looking into hex codes for different colours. The colours I've done so far are as follows: Red=ff0000. Maroon=800000. Rust=67410e. Crimson=dc143c. Brick=c64154. blood(red)=8a0303. Dark red=8b0000. Firebrick=b22222. Blue=0000ff. I've mostly been trying to match the shade of the car, which is hard for someone who is colourblind. Back to the alpha-numeric system. I ran 863 through it and got HFC. I did some research and found that it might be related to chemicals, different places around the world, sport clubs, foods, a broadband network, and even the military. I plan on doing the same with the new key code of 155. That translates to AEE. Despite all this work, I have no idea what to do next. Maybe we could try to get Matpat in on this. That would be so fun! I'm not sure; just wanted to share my findings with you. If you managed to survive this comment, man you're a trooper! Thanks for listening to my TED talk.
The car thing confuses me, this car has to have been driven recently in order for the battery to be charged, right? And they should see if there is any gas in the cars tank.
Well remember the original owner could just be going there every few months just to jump it to make it work and to make it more scary. also for the engine to even work you need gas so there is gas in it
And technically with the heat in California, the fluids can reach a temp where they won't solidify. A car battery can actually hold charge up to ten years so most likely the battery is on the last half of it's life or close to the end of it's life. As long as there is not water or any contaminates the car should run fine but the gaskets could fail at any point.
@@shyoneempress3123 you'd actually be surprised at how a battery of a car works. They are constantly being used to keep the computer's memory alive and they can retain charge for years. The battery can not be ran for years and still work. They are designed to hold charge for a long time. I know people that have not touched a car in 15 years and it still run. So 5 is invalid to the charge of the battery
i’m rewatching bc this a crazy series but now i am realizing somethings i didn’t notice before because we didn’t know about the computer under the stairs now i am thinking that those keys used to go to where they kept their “subjects”
Matt, do this: Get in contact with previous base owners, or the company responsible for building and operating these warehouses, for info about the keys and/or car.
I see where you're coming from but that probably isn't a great idea. The previous owners clearly wanted to keep this hidden. If matt goes to them, they could be extremely divisive and hostile
My theroies (please read Matt) 1: check out the car and see if they left anything or a code ,because remember that's how you got the safe 2: it might link to a person who has been missing for years or has been kidnapped 3: I did some research about the car and said it was one worst sold cars in 2011 that how come it was discontinued (from Wikipedia) 4: it might be the scientists car and he/she disappeared 5: it might actually connected with the ghost ( the last people who lived there) left something for you guys to figure out or own something Thanks for reading!👋👍
The 3rd one doesn't make sense cuz who would out a safe INSIDE A WALL just for a prank plus if it was a prank it would mean that the guy had parked a car there(which they had to probably buy) it just doesn't really make sense?
I don't know, I don't think it's a prank, because there's almost no way that Woods, Kevin, Brian, etc. would have access to that building. You have to remember that the safe in the wall was found in the Red Base Extension, so it was someone else's property.

I own a mountanier and to lock the car, you need to simultaneously press the bottom 2 buttons. The honking means start the engine. Also try checking in front of the front right seat where there is a cabinet which could have something, Good Luck!👍
Messi Lalani my old Mercury Villager had that same pull out drawer. I miss having that.
They should also look up the VIN number
Most of the cars with keypads require a 5 digit code for the key pad not 3 digits
Sams checks are nice also all the girls in this videos checks are nice

This sounds like a great way to handle this! Hope they see it!
Are you a cop or something?
I think that's the best thing to do.
My mind is blown
You know this is staged right?

By California State law:
How long does a car have to be abandoned before you can claim it in California?
72 hours
An abandoned car is one the owner has forsaken on public or private property for at least 72 hours.

(Note: it’s generally the same for public properties, but there are nuances.)” - Abandoned Cars on Private Property by Nicky LaMarco
What can you do about the car?
Call the local police to give a description of the car and ask if it is involved with some not-so-legal activities. If it is confirmed that it is or was not involved with criminal activities you have to:
1. Post on your local social networks and ask if the car belongs to someone.
2. Ask your neighbors if it is their car or if they know the person who ‘owns’ the car.
If nothing comes from that you have two options:
1. Have it towed
2. Claim the car
The first option is easier than the second, but I believe you may claim it.

I was thinking something similar, but I was leaning towards a repo company. When I leased my car a repo company two states over had another key

Nah bra this is surreal
have you ever watched a movie? thats like saying inception is real because all the variables in it. a lot of matts vlogs dont seem fake like tanner and the bang energys. im not saying its fake but just that your logic doesnt make sense
also this is not new content they've been on about this for over a year, they've had plenty of time and planning. Also whos to say they didn't throw a key or two into the box, not like we saw and memorized all the keys from past videos.
For real this would be a great movie though
this may be a fake plot but I looked into it anyway
I asked my auntie (a lawyer) about the possible reasons the license plates were missing and if this is illegal or not.
The car was directly behind their base with plates just over a year ago.
This is all staged

the base was white when the got it, Hi5 painted red to go with the other red base
I like this idea but Sydney has a point too... *BUT* what if a different colored key has a different colored item. Like the blue keys could lead to something blue, like red= car.

All of this is super fake. Google imagine Mercury Mountaineer Keys. They look nothing like the house keys matt has. And he "started" it with the keys.
@@AlmightyyCres there's actually car keys that look like house keys, so starting the engine is not fake at all, Google replacement keys and it'll come up with the key without the black end attached. So yes, that key is actually real.

@@papajcina what video did he say that in?
Matt, 2 things.
1: doesn’t the car alarm only go off when it’s locked from the outside and open inside? And 2: since pat has seen the car in different places, and the key was in the wall for years (most likely) then who has the other key to be able to drive it around?
2 point creep me out
its because its a staged scene in a multi episode "performance" its very entertaining but just that, purely entertainment, if i found creepy keys and locked boxes id call an expert not film it, this is staged purely for the entertainment of us watching
Kevin Morrice as a side note, an expert in a situation like this? Must be a very common occurrence in America but in England, not so much

if anything get police to search for fingerprints other than yours or Sams. That could lead you onto something.
Like so Matt can see and i hope this helps on this crazy adventure of the keys.
Edit: what if the person was a car dealer...
Even if it is someone else’s car it’s been abandoned and they bought a unit with the key so either way they legally own based off California law and common sense
@@sage5559 I guess so I don't live in the states so I don't know their laws all that well I'm just suggesting things to help
Exactly. That battery would 100% be dead
Ehhhhhh i don't know mannnnnnnnnn, my mazda had a truck battery and it started up after a year of sitting. I also had a boat that I bought from someone that hasn't used it in 3 or so years and the batteries worked perfectly.
Ya and it would probably be grimy or something 100% dead and alarm would not be working
@@spencz- yes and if it has been sitting for a while, the dash should have some wear from the sun
Battery doesnt die that fast if nothing drains it. I had batteries sit around several years and used them to start up different type of machines.
The car definitely been used recently!! cause the battery would have been dead if it was sitting for 5 years and the tires have full air!
No the car was not on so no battery wasted
@@malloe_ Automobile batteries will absolutely lose there charge if the car isn't ran for a period of time. All batteries operate this way. The only reason it doesn't die all the time is because the alternator charges the battery when the car is running.
So yes, the car would definitely be dead if it hadn't been driven in months/years.
i disagree i do agree with car batteries dieng ove rtime but my father started a car after several years(and he didn't replace the battery) but the no flat tires thing seems like it was faked
@@owenwest7110 it had to have been a sealed battery then because a wet battery won't last a year without being charged
My car used to have to be started every day because if we went every few days, it would need to be jumped -_-
Have watched all 4 chapters of this series 4 times and still enjoys them, 2024 anyone?
this is weird man.... somthin seems.. off. I have seen other vehicles where any key can start then because they are just old and warn out and or have been stolen and wired to do so. Maybe that could be it. Try another key and make sure first because if it’s stolen or whatever it really could have been used for somthing you don’t wanna get involved with.
Like this comment for it to get shown
So if the car isn’t in their parking lot why not ask the people of the parking lot it is in if the car belongs to anyone there, that seems like the first thing they should do and if it doesn’t belong to anyone there check the glove box and look for the registration papers and see who it belonged to
Holy that's crazy
But I feel like there would be some kind of drugs or a murder weapon, hence the no plates and expired registration date.
@Dylan Raber You think they would've towed it by now though. If it doesn't belong to any of the employees and it's been sitting there with no license plates don't you think it would've been removed by the property by now 🤨
Haha so true!!!
without plates and a expired registration which are both fineable plus it's a model no longer made i think contacting authorities would be smart it could be a car that the past owner deemed not worth fixing or something else. im sure hi5 studio won't get in trouble especially if this car may be from a missing vehicle case and they have video on here that proves they haven't stole it so they can't get in trouble for that i don't think
Imagine all the keys lead to the lost Go pros and this is pat covering it up with pretending someone else did it
Bro tell me like who came back to the start of the whole saga of this and like just wants to watch it all over again
It could be chemicals, it was used for science stuff before
I read the whole thing and sheesh! You’re really taking this seriously 🤣
Wow that's a lot of typing thanjs for the info
Yeah
i just read intellegince
Idk when I laughed harder, the second time Matt set the car alarm off, or the fact that everyone ran away faster after the code worked 😂
the fact that this all started from a key in the ceiling
Looking at this whole situation, during February 2021, all of this happened from one key. Mercury.
You know Matt is scared when he grabbed the cross on his necklace after figuring out the 155 code worked
Shelly Guynn or......... if you have ever had a necklace before, you grab it before hopping off something so It doesn’t smack you in the face 😂😂😂😂
Bropacasaurus that too
The car thing confuses me, this car has to have been driven recently in order for the battery to be charged, right? And they should see if there is any gas in the cars tank.
Well remember the original owner could just be going there every few months just to jump it to make it work and to make it more scary. also for the engine to even work you need gas so there is gas in it
And technically with the heat in California, the fluids can reach a temp where they won't solidify. A car battery can actually hold charge up to ten years so most likely the battery is on the last half of it's life or close to the end of it's life. As long as there is not water or any contaminates the car should run fine but the gaskets could fail at any point.
Exactly what I was thinking
@@forgottentenno but who was driving it the battery should be dead. Something is fishy
Patrick- “you should never give him anything because he loses everything” *literally lost 4 go pro’s*
True😂
I love how I’ve been watching you for at least 2 years now and you guys are still finding stuff hidden around the place
That’s not suspicious people wearing black standing next to a car that is “sounding an alarm” (I don’t know how to words it lol)
Random Person sub ?
xD
Words it
Haha 69
AND without a face mask lol
Matt: “I’ll ask the comments because I don’t want to go rifling through a car.”
Me and possibly the comments section: “Do it!”
Heck yeah do it! do it! do it!
Exactly 😂
Yea they're gonna get in trouble with the law but still... DO IT
The people who used to own the unit watching like : 😏😂
😂
I wonder if they set this up because they knew they were UA-camrs
iTs kAyleIgH sub to me plz
Ikr , would be so slick #prenk

Tanner: “Matthias grips the steering wheel, he sees his wife 100 meters away”
Hold on, so first a red safe, then a red car. HI5 check anything red or have codes linking to the colours on the keys.
Not only that but they found it the new red base
It didnt start on the red safe tho
The key fob was also red
@@justinnewbury3468 ok good point, forgot about where the key to red safe was.
@Annabelle Tinio I wouldn't be surprised
Matt: opens door alarm doesn't go off

why are they all wearing black when’s it’s 104° out
Self conscious
Because they are sad bois
I wear all black in hot weather all the time.
Because I’m stupid.
Amish
I wear black always. I'm a piece of gothic trash 👌
i’m rewatching bc this a crazy series but now i am realizing somethings i didn’t notice before because we didn’t know about the computer under the stairs now i am thinking that those keys used to go to where they kept their “subjects”
Someone who owned the building before may have set this up for the fun of it
and they're just watching it play out
@@kathleen8095 🤣 nice name btw
Matt, do this:
Get in contact with previous base owners, or the company responsible for building and operating these warehouses, for info about the keys and/or car.
I was thinking that to these offices could've also been one huge one at some point maybe
I said the exact same thing. Great minds think alike.
I see where you're coming from but that probably isn't a great idea. The previous owners clearly wanted to keep this hidden. If matt goes to them, they could be extremely divisive and hostile
Awww, what’s the fun in that? I want this series to continue for as long as possible lol

*Watches Dope Or Nope video
*Watches Team Edge Video
*Watches Matt And Amanda Video

Matt: Mercury went defunct a decade ago
Yeah Matt, some people still drive old cars around, we can't all afford a Tesla!! XD
Exactly!
For real
Actually we can have a tesla mat just has the expensive model but there are affordable ones
I’m back again, for the millionth time and it’s kinda bitter sweet… love this series so much 🩷
Matt: BEHIND YOU
Editor: intense music
Delivery person: (friendly voice) Hi!!
They should ask the neighbors who's lot the car is parked in if they know anything
My theroies (please read Matt)
1: check out the car and see if they left anything or a code ,because remember that's how you got the safe
2: it might link to a person who has
been missing for years or has been kidnapped
3: I did some research about the car and said it was one worst sold cars in 2011 that how come it was discontinued (from Wikipedia)
4: it might be the scientists car and he/she disappeared
5: it might actually connected with the ghost ( the last people who lived there) left something for you guys to figure out or own something
Thanks for reading!👋👍
The 3rd one doesn't make sense cuz who would out a safe INSIDE A WALL just for a prank plus if it was a prank it would mean that the guy had parked a car there(which they had to probably buy) it just doesn't really make sense?
@@mura_saki yea plus why would they buy a car park it at a just some random area and know Matt would buy it.
I don't know, I don't think it's a prank, because there's almost no way that Woods, Kevin, Brian, etc. would have access to that building. You have to remember that the safe in the wall was found in the Red Base Extension, so it was someone else's property.
