my mom makes this porridge slash soup with legumes in the winter that i really like, mostly its brown lentils but you also add rice to thicken it, the base is like tomato puree with onion, garlic, and vegetable broth, so similar to the one you made! usually you add bacon and sausage but you could make it with chicken too, or vegetarian. i think i will make it this week too!

one of my favorite bulk recipes to do is split pea soup. split peas are really high in protein and it froze and reheated well when I did it. i also used the yellow split peas since I like then better. It was a really filling soup, and can go with lots of vegetables and whatever meat you prefer.

Hi, glad you're back! I see we share the same new year resolutions :D For tracking calories of cooked meals, what I do is first weigh all my ingredients separately and see how many calories each ingredient has so that I know how many calories for the entire thing, then weigh the pot that I'll be cooking my meal in, and then when I'm finished cooking, I weigh the entire pot again (this time with the food inside) and subtract the weight of the pot itself. That way I know how much food I made, and I know how many calories per 100g for it.
