** Pulitzer Prize awards are handed to the photographer not the camera!
So, truth be told, it's the person holding the camera is the artist creating the photo. Next, understand the foundation of this channel and photography itself, "the camera does not make a bad photographer a great photographer", a camera of $42 or $4,200. will not create an award-winning shot.
As far as post processing your work, well if you want to get the finest image you can after the shutter clicks, you absolutely must do some post work.
If you ordered a meal at a restaurant, would you like the meal better if the chef tweaked your food to the highest pro chef level? Yes of course.
    Be well.

    *Photographer Carmine Taverna Defines Street Photography in these words;
Street photography, a genre of photography that records everyday life in a public place. The very publicness of the setting enables the photographer to take candid pictures of strangers, often without their knowledge. Street photographers do not necessarily have a social purpose in mind, but they prefer to isolate and capture moments which might otherwise go unnoticed.
    ***Why are CCD cameras better?
CCD sensors create high-quality, low-noise images. CMOS sensors are usually more susceptible to noise. Because each photosite on a CMOS sensor has several transistors located next to it, the light sensitivity of a CMOS chip tends to be lower, as many of the photons hit the transistors instead of the photosite.

**I completely understand buying on eBay is scary. However, when you are ready to buy your camera or lens on ebay, use this checklist I have created...
    1) buy from a seller in Japan.
    2) they must have 100% positive feedback.
    3) they must have at least 100 Feedbacks.
    4) the listing must say MINT OR EXC OR WORKING OR TESTED OR LIKE NEW.
    5) you must understand the camera will Not be the cheapest one on ebay.
    6) I try to Only buy cameras and lenses from Sellers in Japan

"Photographic art overlaps with the landscape, portraiture, and other photography types. It is defined by the artist's vision and approach to get distinct photographs. Unlike other forms of photography, fine art photography is about capturing what the artist sees instead of what the camera sees. It is just another tool for artists to produce their art."
(Quote from N.F. I. The Nashville Film Institute)
**The CCD was invented in 1969 at Bell Labs by Willard Boyle and George Smith. Since that CCD FILM LIKE SENSOR was sensitive to light it was used as image sensor for video and TV cameras. It could also be used as a memory device or analogue signal delay since it's principally a kind of analogue shift-register circuit.

Hello Carmine! I have two of these cameras because of one of your earlier videos! :) I got one in Excellent condition for around $45 (Ebay). Then I saw another video about converting a compact camera into an infrared only camera. The video about the conversion happened to be on a ZS-3. I didn't want to convert the one I just bought so I went back to Ebay and found another one sold as "parts only" because the seller didn't have a battery to verify if the camera worked. I think I paid $15 for that one, put a battery in it and it worked fine. My son and I converted the cheaper one into an infrared only camera, works great. Very happy with both purchases. :)

Beautiful photographs. Super sharp with excellent colors. I guess I’m buying another camera. I shot an event downtown where I live recently. I took along my D3 and I think I had the d7200. I used to do these type of shoots for news papers, publications and people generally ignored the big camera. I used to be pretty good at blending in even with a monster camera that was difficult to miss. People are hyper aware now. I guess because of the times we are living in. It was difficult to get any street shot with them not being aware. Had to do a lot of shots from the hip. This camera will make the next trip to any event or street photography. The Canon power shot SX20; I purchased from your recommendation of the sx5 I believe. Also a stellar compact camera.

Wow, another great video about a fun camera, and your pictures are just fantastic. I appreciate your work to get these out, I know it's a lot of work to get such quality.

As far as I know up until the ZS8 (TZ18) were CCDs. CMOS after that.

Hi Carmine, thanks for the awesome video. I have one of these and was wondering if you know how I would set the lens to a 35mm full frame equivalent focal length. The lens has no direct way to tell which focal length is selected to my knowledge, but maybe you, as a long time owner, have a hack for that? Many thanks and all the best :)

Speaking of CCD....I was wondering about the Nikon D50 vs D60 vs D70 vs D3000. I believe they are all CCD. However, how do they compare to each other? Such as picture quality and etc.

@@CarmineTavernaPhotography I know I watched and enjoyed all of them. I just thought it would be interesting to see a comparison of these Nikon CCDs in a video. For instance, which one has better picture quality, pros and cons, and etc. Thanks for all your awesome videos so far.

When does this line of cameras switch over to cmos? Is the ZS3 the last one or does another model retain the CCD?

I bought a ZS-1. Does the ZS-3 have PASM because the ZS-1 does not. It does have the same lens.

The Lumix ZS3 has no manual or semi-automatic modes, instead using only Program, Intelligent Auto, and 28 Scene modes.
