I believe that Panasonic is still a partner with Leica Camera. The electronics in the current line of Leica digital cameras are made by Panasonic. As an aside, Panasonic was first called National Panasonic. I had an uncle who owned a really nice multi-band radio in the early '60's branded National Panasonic. To add, Leica, Panasonic, and Sigma are part of the L-Mount alliance creating L-Mount lenses. Panasonic and Leica also re-upped a strategic partnership recently called L2. You can definitely see Panasonic’s hybrid autofocus system present in the Leica Q3.
I own one of these from new, they are called the DMC-TZ7 here in Holland. It was the best compact camera by far in its day., great pictures and incredible optical zoom too.
Personally, I prefer the Lumix LX/Leica D-Lux series as well as the Olympus XZ-1. But yeah, those old Lumix compacts with Leica Vario-Elmar glass are in many cases "punching above their weight class", if you know, what I mean.
I like how you take things to the basics.i have started my photo journey using a small compact olympus 6mpx then went up to a canon 350d 8 mp slr, now i have a nikon d750 , d3x, d300 with many lenses, but im not taking the same pics now like back in the days with my old canon 350d which i still have it.dont know i guess ive lost my muse

Hi Carmine. I have an old Soviet Industar 61 that I am trying to mount to my Olympus OM-D-E-10 Mark iV. I bought a good adapter L39 to Micro 4/3. The problem is that when I attach the lens to my camera, it mounts upside down!! Would you know what I should do to fix this??
Hello old friend..The same thing happened to me...On the side of the adapter, you will find 3 holes. In those holes are Allen [set] screws. Mount the lens in the adapter, mount the lens with adapter on the camera. Loosen the 3 set screws with an Allen key [wrench] turn the lens until perfect position, tighten the screws. Picked this camera up on eBay for about $50. IQ is excellent, and that super zoom is incredible.
