Right now though, with this phone very nearly $1000 in price, it's inevitable that they're gonna compare it to nothing but the best and while this is the best OnePlus camera ever (I mean, that's obvious), they've still got some ways to go.

All those phones were flagship killers but year after year we demanded more of the phone and that comes with cost every buisness is in it for money thats just life.
Ofcourse. And "made by community" was another stunt that actually succeeded. The community app and how it is run by OnePlus to engage and aquire young enthusiasts has been successful as well. All of those for one single reason - > to build a strong userbase to sell later at a pretty high price.
Jeez. You guys really can't take having a flagship phone having a flagship price. It's expensive now because it's a flagship. Not because they had some secret agenda to grow the company. Anyone else want a OnePlus 8 Pro vs Galaxy S20+ comparison (not the Ultra)? They have nearly identical hardware, save for the cameras, at different pricepoints, so it'd be interesting to see if, to the rich customer with money to burn, the price difference is justified.
The sad thing is now that we need a brand new manufacturer to come out with great phones at fair prices to stop Samsung and Apple from asking $2,000 next year for a top phone.
honestly this is a good year to skip upgrading the phones, hole punch displays, the current crisis ,and so on, gotta se what companies are up to next year other than price increase.
I still don't know why people are surprised by this move. It isn't just OnePlus getting more expensive, it's everyone. And not to mention the fact that this phone is built with the expensive snapdragon 865 as well as an expensive 120hrz display that is best in class. They are still a massive budget compared to the competition (except the iPhone see, crazy deal). I get the company isn't as inexpensive as they use to be but their phones are more premium than they use to be.
"OnePlus 8 Pro Review: Becoming the Villain" Well it is as the saying goes: You either die a hero, or live long enough to become the villain...or in this case I guess its You die a flagship killer or live long enough to become a flagship??

Generally when I watch your review, they are inspiring me that everyone should try to do their work at his/her best. You are one of the best color producer screen in my life, even with 3.5mm jack.
I can't justify spending almost $1,000 on a cellphone. When the difference is basically wireless charging, an ip rating, a slightly better camera and quicker screen from my 6t to the 8 pro, yet the price is around $350 more. To me those are all things I can live without if the phone only costs $580 compared to $900.
I'm a little upset it's 900, but it makes sense. The cameras are actually competitive now, the snap 865, the 120hz, 30w fast charge, wireless charge, 256gig storage, 12 gigs of the good ram, full dynamic screen with a ton of customization, one of the best ui, modern up to date Android version, huge battery, good haptics. This phone literally is a flagship because if they want to make money they need to expand past the enthusiast community, cause you can't make money there, your company will die. They made 3 phones, the 8 and 8pro, both made for the standard phone user who wants everything (price comes with that too) or you can go for the 8t, the flagship killer with amazing specs (mostly the same as the pro but better charging but worse ram type) at a lower price, but quality will drop(it's to be expected)

And the OnePlus 8 pro is still a cheaper option than a lot of other flagships so I'd say it's still a flagship killer. Just my opinion
Funny how the majority of people loved it until they announced the price point.. Years bitching about no I.P & wireless charging. Y'all thought Oneplus wasn't going to pass the cost right back to the consumer. Give me a break people, things come with a price.
Yes things come with a price. But you should not forget that majority of your customers are those who can afford midrange flagship price phones and not actual flagships. Oneplus killed its enthusiasts.
Well no shit they come with a price. And I do agree it's funny that OP is facing a double-bind from their customers.
When people complain about palm rejection on curved screens, its because they didnt use it as their personal device, because when you have a case on, it is never a problem. Goes to show how this reviewers dont actually use the phone like a normal person.
True I don't have any problem with a case
MrMobile really spoiling us these days with this production value huh
2:02 I'm really glad that I'm able to watch a phone on a phone on a phone on my phone.
Galaxy s20 are on sale for this price. This brings it into crowded territory.
Its okay for US where S20 comes with Snapdragon. But for us in the exynos region, OP8Pro is much more appealing. You may lose out slightly on the camera but you get better perfomance overall.
I don't know why I was expecting "This is Jaime Rivera" at 0:19.
None of the reviewers mentioned the reverse wireless charging except you

@@No_timezone77 Also the 7 Pro has the same level of water resistance, it just doesn't have the certification. As they wanted to keep the price down.

Yeah I'd say it should be a max of $750 with the upgrades this generation
Why is camera a disappointment lmao it's better than s20
@@Saurabh-hx1yp It's probably more in the sense that in that price category, it's up against both the iPhone 11 Pro and the Pixel 4, both of which have excellent cameras in the context of smartphones.
OnePlus historically hasn't been exactly stellar with cameras. In the past, people would be fine because they were saving money on them. Right now though, with this phone very nearly $1000 in price, it's inevitable that they're gonna compare it to nothing but the best and while this is the best OnePlus camera ever (I mean, that's obvious), they've still got some ways to go.
@@NeXMaX yeah i get that but it still beats the 1300 $ galaxy. What else do you want?! It is comparable to iPhone. Check the techchap comparison.
@@Saurabh-hx1yp I'm not really complaining though. I still use a 2.5 year old Galaxy Note8 as my daily, of which its camera performance is good but nothing outstanding anymore. I have the Fujifilm X-T3 along with an assortment of gear for when I'm going for a proper photoshoot.
Just at least explaining why people would kinda feel a bit salty about the camera. And to be fair to the S20 Ultra, they are being pretty ambitious about it......maybe too ambitious.
I'll be waiting for the OnePlus 8T Pro McLaren Edition (WITH 865+, 512GB STORAGE, 16GB RAM, 5000+ mAh BATTERY & NO CURVE / LESS CURVE DISPLAY)

Nothing gets more hype than MrMobile PRO reviews
I've had my OnePlus 8 Pro since late May - Australian customer, I had to import it as they're still not selling them here officially. From personal experience, and from what I can tell reading various comments and threads, it seems after the few updates the device has gotten since it's release, this phone is now right up there in terms of all round features, camera quality, phone performance, etc with Apple and Samsung... honestly, I have used this thing heavily everyday for work and it's not let me down once.
This guy sounds like Robert Downey Jr.

The price of phones are just getting silly, I thought my old Samsung S9+ was expensive at the time but even though i'm due an upgrade I cant justify the expense of getting a new phone that does little more than my S9+.
Your better off just buying last year's flagships at a reduced price. Wait till next year the current options may start looking pretty good. I just got my 7t for $500.
S20 plus is $200 off. Is that the better choice?
in my opinion no, this oneplus has a better screen, better battery, better fingerprint scanner, more ram, and comes with a faster charger in the box

All the "flagship killer" BS was clearly a publicity stunt to brand up.
Well I mean they did offer a lot of brilliant phones at a very reasonable price for years, and if these folks want to try something different, let them be. Also there's the OnePlus 8 that's still cheaper than most of the flagships out there.
All those phones were flagship killers but year after year we demanded more of the phone and that comes with cost every buisness is in it for money thats just life.
H o L d U p Exactly! Wireless charging, IP certification, better lens come with prices, and that’s not up to OnePlus.
Oneplus made good cheap phones back in the day. But for Oneplus to survive with the big dogs getting better, they had no choice. Don't buy it if your wallet says so.
The production quality of these reviews are so different and i love every second of it
I hope there are very less reviewers... Who don't get their videos approved by the brand before publishing it... 👌👌
Love your honesty, voice, way of speaking & videos...Big Fan... 😍😍
Xiaomi probably, but they never release anything in the US :(
honestly this is a good year to skip upgrading the phones, hole punch displays, the current crisis ,and so on, gotta se what companies are up to next year other than price increase.
That charging animation syncing with the music is just 👌
I still don't know why people are surprised by this move.

I remember the intro tune, it was one of my favorites. Feels nostalgic and fits perfectly with this video. Thanks you Mr. Mobile!
Micheal, I have been watching you videos like 5 years or more... The maturation of you and your videos are just... epic.
My last oneplus was a 6t. I feel like the 7t was their peak... it’s all downhill from here for all of us fans from the beginning. But now my sister knows what a oneplus is and she only knows iPhones... so they are getting their name out there better at least.
