Innocent warrior was written in remembrance of 18 girls and their teacher who lost their lives when their dormitory at a secondary school in Tuvalu caught fire 😔 such a beautifully sad song.
UPDATE: Thank you for commenting and correcting the information. The original song was LOIMATA E MALIGI and Innocent Warrior was written later on with new lyrics. The beautiful melody was of the original song dedicated to those who tragically died.

Although I can’t speak the language, I can still feel the beauty and sadness through out the song. I did my research and learned this song was written due do a tragedy. Funny, how I was still able to pick up the story of the song without knowing the language. Shows you how music is a universal language and has no boundaries. Truly magical. RIP to the fallen angels

I have shed tears over this very short song. It means so much to me. The words, the melody, the meaning. It touched my heart in the most powerful way. I feel like at one time I went through what Te Fiti went through, people have destroyed me over and over and I became a monster after that, years passed by and I learned to forgive them and most importantly forgave myself. The recovery from all that was sooo liberating
