I just watched that movie last night for the first time and I've probably listened to Alessia's song 10 times today. It's crazy how good her voice is. Shocked that it wasn't a hit as big as the frozen song.
I'm disappointed that people don't know the difference between Auli'i and Alessia's versions of How Far I'll Go. Auli'i did the "theatrical" or "show tune" version of the song (which is the original), while Alessia did the soul/rnb/pop version to match with today's top music genres. The reason why did the soul/rnb/pop version of it at the RDMAs is because it's upbeat.
Yea but mixed with alessia and auhli'i's version it just sound so GOOD!!! And it really brings the modern day music along with Disney's classical music, it even gave me goosebumps and I can assure u that I never get goosebumps on any Disney song or pop song!

"Let it Go" is one song where the commercial/pop version is unnecessary. The movie version triumphs it. I could be wrong, but Disney might restrict rights to the movie version being played on the radio, so they release two versions, one that can be played by other parties. I don't think I've ever heard a Disney song in a film on the radio.
I'm gonna be honest, don't get me wrong I like Alessia Cara, but I prefer Auli'i Cravalho's voice. I don't know it sounds pure, like you mentioned, and just so natural.
