Just to let you know the corrosion on the positive terminal of the battery. Also to do a coolant flush to not use tons of coolant drain and fill with water and drain again and fill with water then drain then fill with pure antifreeze. The water left in the block should give you a 60/40 mix which is good to -40 degrees Celsius 0 degrees Fahrenheit.

Great vid. I am pretty sure that the 3rd Gen Rams went from 2002-2008 and the 4th Gen's started at 2009?

Yes, you are correct. However, there is one thing that gets overlooked by most when it comes to the 2008 MY trucks . . . . . . . they are *DIFFERENT* than the 2006/07 and the 2009 and up . . . WTActualF!
So, the years should really go (to be 100% accurate with part fitment for both OEM and aftermarket) 2002 - 2005 / 2006 - 2007 / 2008 / 2009 and up
Having a one year run of a vehicle is horrible for those of us that would like to some aftermarket stuff. I knew the 06&07 were different than the 02-05 years but had NO idea the 08 would be all by itself. And - before anyone mentions it - NO, not all parts fit. Even though some part manufactures say their part will fit 2002 - 2008 . . . it will *NOT*
But anyway. My 2008 4.7 flex fuel has nearly 200k miles (probably will be over 200k by the time I am finished writing this story) on it and has only needed the water pump replaced twice. That thing seems to go right at the 75k-80k mile range.

@@Doublethizzle - Agree...!...and it's even crazier for the 3rd Gen 5.9 Cummins re how the 03-04s actually cut off at 04.5 (wth indeed). Aftermarket parts "fitment" can be quite tricky/aggravating if the vehicle owner and/or the parts guy isn't paying super close attention.

My 2005 RAM 1500 is at 98k miles right now. This video is perfect for me. My only question is what to do about the air conditioning? THANKS

I'm at 121,500 miles on my 3rd gen dodge. Gotta replace my front calipers and front break lines. Tis the season to start working in a garage instead of outside

Adding associated costs would help. Of course it will vary by market, but there are general cost associations that could be helpful to people who have little experience.

Good video but would've been helpful to include "Gasoline" in the title given 3rd Gens include the 5.9 Cummins.

Best way to service a Dodge is to sell it. Those cars suck on quality. Fun to drive it they age.
