Bernard Matthews turkey burgers bring back a lot of memories! Will have to go down memory lane and buy those definitely! My mum also used to make the Bernard Matthew rolled turkey roast or chicken or lamb every week and we thought it was booootiful !! 🤣🤣 don't know if I would now though! but great memories, thanks for the review !
worked for Bernard Matthews at Gt witchingham was on many lines one being turkey burgers . Used to load up the cutting machine that would slice the frozen logs of meat which went along a belt to be breadcrumbed instantly frozen and packaged all very efficient and fast 30 plus years vack now.

Levi roots is very interesting that sauce is a recipe from his grandmother in Jamaica and Peter Jones from dragons den invested in him its a great success story...
Levi's burger seemed to have more chicken, but pricier, but I'd be happy with either with fries and coleslaw or baked beans. Price point sub £1.25 meal, it's good value.😋
In cross section the Levi Roots looked a lot nicer, nice white breast meet compared to that grey sludge in the Bernard Matthews one. So I'd have to say the Levi Roots one looked more of a winner today. Used to love Bernard Matthews Mini Kievs though, do they still make them??
Those I'd like to try. Can't get Turkey burgers in our supermarkets, but they're available commercially 🤔... I bought a bag of southern fried chicken breast burgers and they're pretty damn close tasting to KFC. With a slice of cheese and a rasher of bacon, lettuce and mayo in a sesame seed bun... I swear I was eating a KFC burger. 👍🤤 Processed turkey meat is always a darker colour to chicken. Great review today Gareth. 😀👍🍔

I used to buy the Bernard Matthews turkey burgers years back, not sure but think they were in a see through plastic wrap and there were either 4 or 6 in a pack. I'm also thinking they were a bit bigger too but it was so long back I'm not sure lol! They were really nice though and we would have them with chips or sometimes mash. Cheaper back then too obviously 😄 *edited for update....I just looked for an old advert and they were turkey steaks in crispy breadcrumbs, so they were slightly bigger than a burger and did come in a 4 pack as I described above. 😋

Flava is Latin for yellow if my mind is working correctly. Levi’s sauce is good so I recon that I’d give the burgers a go. You could probably use the cheaper burgers and put Levi’s jerk sauce on them to get the same for cheaper.

turkey is more expensive than chicken. so, only 6 is way less than 12. add in the minor difference in thickness, so technically it makes 8 of the chicken instead of the 12 turkey, net gain, 4 turkey burgers extra, so the cost overall is probably just over half the turkey burgers cost, so maybe 1;70 worth of chicken burgers, add in the brand name coating and you have the 3 quid cost on levi roots item. so, yes, cheaper to add the sauce to the turkey burgers, and the bonus is, you can add as much or as little sauce as you want. so , winner winner turkey burger dinner. good review gareth.
Honest enough review gareth might look out for them but I prefer proper chicken fillets or fillet strips and they come in all kinds of various coatings and flavours 👍👍🍔🍔🍗🍗
I like the turkey burgers and you probably get more than the chicken burgers in a pack because there is a lot more meat on a turkey so it’s probably cheaper for turkey meat.

The Levi Roots look more appetising to me. What I don't understand is the Levi Roots have 100% chicken on the front of the package but 54% in the list of ingredients. That's confusing 😳
im no expert but it could be meaning that the chicken used on the inside is 100% chicken.. the 54% refers to the chicken to coating content... whereby the 100% chicken is 54% of the burger and the other 46% is made up by the breadcrumb coating and spices.
100% chicken means they've used 100% chicken in the burger with no other meats added (This is actually a thing, Often these processed meats will contain bits of other animals). And the 54% means 54% of the burger is chicken and 46% is the other ingredients.

I love the reggae reggae sauce. So I'd just buy the Bernard Matthews ones and lather them in the sauce lol. I'm struggling to find the reggae reggae sauce for a quid though which is what Im used to paying, usually from Asda. Can only find it for £1.50 now.
Just tried them Bernard Mathews ones was looking forward to them the ones I had before were just pieces of turkey not minced up stuff they tasted very salty the best bit about them was the bread and butter I had with them 🤢 👎🏻 the dogs love them thought they would be better quality from that make
Looking at that Romanian chicken it looked a bit too white for me , a bit like Simon Cowells teeth . Iceland have a knack of getting a lot of it's products from abroad when it would be good to support the industry in this country but I know we cannot compete on price, don't forget Bernard Mathews also does the turkeys twizlers,that we had back in the day .
Used to have Turkey Twizlers for tea many a night after school. And the Mini Kiev's, they were good back in the day.
Twizzlers can be had from Iceland bud. Not had mini kievs for yonks lol

I love the reggae reggae sauce. So I'd just buy the Bernard Matthews ones and lather them in the sauce lol. I'm struggling to find the reggae reggae sauce for a quid though which is what Im used to paying, usually from Asda. Can only find it for £1.50 now.

Just tried them Bernard Mathews ones was looking forward to them the ones I had before were just pieces of turkey not minced up stuff they tasted very salty the best bit about them was the bread and butter I had with them 🤢 👎🏻 the dogs love them thought they would be better quality from that make
so they not good as they were back in the days

Why buy any type of frozen burger. Making your own is really easy. Plus you know exactly what goes into them.

The Bernard Matthews burgers are much better value. You get almost twice the weight of the Levi Roots burgers.
Looking at that Romanian chicken it looked a bit too white for me , a bit like Simon Cowells teeth . Iceland have a knack of getting a lot of it's products from abroad when it would be good to support the industry in this country but I know we cannot compete on price, don't forget Bernard Mathews also does the turkeys twizlers,that we had back in the day .
