Hey ken, I've been doing some exercises trying to develop my coordination and muscle memory. Then it started getting colder out and I remembered seeing this video a while ago. Came back to watch it today and decided to download it so I can keep my skills up when the weather is frightful outside. I'm trying to learn to be able to fly in a straight line while rotating the aircraft all the way around. So far it's extremely challenging... Thanks for being such a great resource for all different kinds of drone stuff!
Thanks for this Ken, I just picked up a P4 Pro V2 I’m going to do a few hours on this before I put my bird in the air. It’s a big step up from my little Tello! You rock keep it up!
The “simulator” option that was in the Go app was NOT this. This is a very interesting separate program. But you have to pay a premium for all that inspection stuff and models. I am wondering what other controller they will support because they didn’t list anything older than a Phantom 4 and the M2 Enterprise wasn’t listed either.
Were you a teaching assistant in college? Dang me! You are the first person in the first 2 minutes of a flight simulator to explain how to connect the controller to your PC. I'm a newbie. Thanks so much!
I have a mavic air 2 and the controller is not listed in the simulator! What a bummer! I was hoping to learn to fly and enjoy the Simulator as it's in the 100's here it Texas.

Does not work with spark controller but you can use an Xbox controller with limited functions. If you are using an Xbox controller one thing to note is when you bring the analogue stick in to start up it doesn't always recognise the gesture. So us the keyboard if you need too. Keys are A,S,left arrow key and down arrow key all at the same time. Hope this helps
When I first heard about this simulator I immediately downloaded it and could not get it to work so I gave up then I seen this video and found out why it didn’t work your suggestion of using that USB installer did the trick now I am flying simulation on my Mac thanks to you so Ken keep up the good work and thank you.
@@PhotoLogic-SightFlight Sorry Bruce about the Late response. But I am using Parallels Wish I would have used Boot camp instead as I have all kinds of issues with Parallels. Love it need to use it more just have too much life to deal with to get to it. Hopefully soon when all the littoral dust settles Ill be back on it. Maybe do some Recordings. But its nice to see it works great on my 2015 5k iMac without any glitches (once I get past the off and on issues with Parallels. Mainly hooking up to my wifi)But seriously this works amazing with my Phantom 4 pro controller and the best part My drone can sit silently in a box and not need to be running to use the old hard to use built in Dimulator (sorry the old one made me feel dumb watching a tiny screen that was a depiction of where I would be standing and it going off into the distance not a simulation of what the drone sees)
I did the same thing when I first saw the video however I came back to watch it again today and fortunately with my recently installed updates my computers good to go. If you haven't already, maybe it's time to get yourself some new computer parts 😊
Hey Ken, did you ever do a part 2 on this video? Were you able to purchase it? How much and how long did it take you? I've become a fairly good pilot. I don't crash now because I always stay clear of all and any objects but I really would like to start using the simulator to see just how close I could safely come to tighter spaces. Cheers.
@@KenHeron. That's DJI shooting themselves in the foot. Think about it. Their simulator could be the next big rollout, especially for this video game generation. I wont be buying it either. Guess I'll have to get the Air 2 and fly that, for real, instead. It makes me wonder if they are keeping the simulator on the shelf for the FAA. Perhaps we will have to show that we can pass a flight test on a simulator before getting future Part 107 licenses. I suspect that that's how they would make it really hard for citizens to pass. It would be cost prohibitive. Only delivery companies like Amazon would invest in the cost of the test and software for Amazon drone pilots. So lets hope that those hobbyist pilots win their case against the FAA so regular people still have rights to a hobby that we started. Rick from Drone Valley said it best. We were here first!
I believe the Enterprise version costs more than $1K. It's definitely for the drone schools and serious business owners - not us mear hobbyists. Let us know, Ken...
Wow. Thats why its set up that way. In order to actually have someone spend that much you need to have a sales representative prepared right then and there once they drop the amount it will cost. Most people would see it as a way overpriced video game but as mentioned it is aimed at and intended for drone schools and serious business owners
On a Mac you could do the Windows 2nd partition install and have both operating systems. If I am not mistaken I do believe I saw videos of people using the remote with Mavic Pro remotes. So with a little tinkering you can run this as well.
That's right! If you install the free and included Mac program called "BootCamp" that comes with your system, you can then install any normal version of Windows. Bootcamp does all the hard work setting up your hardware and software to run Windows. And it's actually easier and faster to install Windows on your Mac than a PC! (FYI: Macs actually run Unix under the hood). However, Ken was right in saying that you need a higher end computer to run this baby. So just like on a PC, the better hardware - the better the performance. Good luck!
You can also use on your ipad or any tablet when connected to your controller .......if you dont have a "beefy" computer Ken you should do a video using the simulator that way to
Wowwww... I was just wondering how do I practice before investing into my first drone and then your vid popped up... And yup you answered ALL my questions... Greatly appreciate... Now I need to borrow my buddies drone controller 🇹🇹
Dunno but if its anything like Autodesk perhaps the enterprise version is like a full license but with limited numbers of installation on computers like how they would license things out in a school setting.
Wonder if this works with an xbox controller.. Also for people that want even more of these games theres like 6 different drone sims/racing drone/fpv/etc games on steam!
Love the video I need to seriously upgrade my antique computers now I own a phantom 4proV2, mavic air and inspire 2... going to go serious high spec Apple
Hi Ken. I missed that important bit in the DJI website. That’s weird as all DJI apps are loaded on my Apple ..... do they have plans to develop or release the simulator for. iOS op systems .. it makes no sense to not do so.
Thanks, for this Ken. I tried this months ago and got frustrated trying to get my M2P remote to work. I failed and flew a little with my keyboard, which was kind of lame.
Great video, that Simulator is definitely a step up from the one we had in the app. Thanks for the demonstration and cant wait to see what the Enterprise version provides you.
Hi Ken. Well, I just finished watching several of your videos. I recently bought a Phantom 2. It's what I can afford. And I have a number of question for you. But first, do you have any videos on the Phantom2. You did mention the P4 in one of your videos but I know that the 2 is a few years older. So I'm looking for tutoring or lessons. And finally for now. Does the DJI flight simulator have the P2? Thanks, cool videos.
I have an Alienware Area 51 R5. It has an i9 with 18 cores 64gig DDR4 XMP RAM Dual GeForce RTX2080 Ti cards (And really huge SSDs.) Congrats on the new Mavic!👍
Dam! this is a great simulator. It helps me tone my stick control. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. One question I have is when the drone is hovering with no stick motion, the drone seams to drift. Do you get the same motion Thanks Ken
I used the simulator in March and I really enjoyed it, but for some reason it locked my controller up and I could not turn it off. Luckily I contacted DJI and they walked me through the process of fixing it. Great video Ken thanks for sharing. As always L.O.L.
hello. When I install that exe file should I see something in device manager. I still don't seem to be able to connect my mavic 2 pro controller which is part of the current flight simulator
so reboot while the controller is on? when I install that file you mention I see that it apparently is installing but under device manager there is no PORT section where the drivers should be. I am using the usb to usb at the bottom as the top one only charges when plugged into the computer.
when I plug my drone into the computer and then turn it on using either of the two ports on the controller I don't get the windows sound that a usb device has been connected. I am very frustrated at this point.
This look Fantastic. I have downloaded this software. But I can not get it to work, it keeps on crashing during install. I have contacted dji to see if they could help. Great demo Ken
Thanks for the info. I have upgraded my computer with more RAM 32mb plus another graphics card. I still had problems. I got hold of my computer expert that upgraded my computer and he installed the software and it now works great. There was a problem with one of the computer modules. This software is GREAT once you get it working.
Man, DJI must have been listening. It's cold and ugly up in in Minn and I've been wanting to fly but just can't. There's a water tower I want to go shoot but it's been so long since my last flight, I need to practice in an open filed before I try it. Now thanks to this, I can maybe keep my skills up in the winter months. Thanks for doing a video ion this. I'll never sleep again.
Damn! This is awesome! I am downloading it now. Can't wait!!! Time to get the controller out from storage. LOL!
damn, me too. Even though it has not rained properly in weeks now. But why not to get more practice. And I guess even the kids will like it.

It works with the keyboard (A,W,S,D for left stick and arrows for right stick)
Does not work with spark controller but you can use an Xbox controller with limited functions. If you are using an Xbox controller one thing to note is when you bring the analogue stick in to start up it doesn't always recognise the gesture. So us the keyboard if you need too. Keys are A,S,left arrow key and down arrow key all at the same time. Hope this helps
So getting this "NEW GAME" for these not so pleasant days we are now having up here in the north. Thanx Ken!!!!
Good video, i feel more realistic if the stimulator notify like normal reality ...imu calibration needed as it dose near power cable
I tried it today its really very good but it needs internet all the time.. thanks for this information
The intro is downright hilarious
Thanks!!
KEN I have to say you REALLY taught me a thing or two about flying. THANKS PAL. KEEP YOUR THUMB ON IT!!
Glad to help Dave!
GTA: Drone edition
When I first heard about this simulator I immediately downloaded it and could not get it to work so I gave up then I seen this video and found out why it didn’t work your suggestion of using that USB installer did the trick now I am flying simulation on my Mac thanks to you so Ken keep up the good work and thank you.
That's wonderful!
So glad I could help. 🤓👍
@@KenHeron I spent hours trying to get that thingy to work.. And its also your fault Im working to be more of a Pincher too..
How'd you get to run on your Mac? Did you have to install Windoze OS with Parallels or Boot Camp?
I was about to download until I saw the system requirements...
I did the same thing when I first saw the video however I came back to watch it again today and fortunately with my recently installed updates my computers good to go.
If you haven't already, maybe it's time to get yourself some new computer parts 😊
@@jerseyshoredroneservices225 Yea a month after i made that comment i built a pc. its all good now.
Cheers.
The full version costs over $1,100 and is intended for businesses. So, no I didn't make a second part.
$1350, yes.
Wow. Thats why its set up that way. In order to actually have someone spend that much you need to have a sales representative prepared right then and there once they drop the amount it will cost. Most people would see it as a way overpriced video game but as mentioned it is aimed at and intended for drone schools and serious business owners
My mini2 is charged and ready for its first flight but I'm having a blast watching you.
Thanks Robben!
too bad DJI doesn't offer a Mac version...
Very irritating, I believe in practice, practice, practice. The only option is bootcamp or Parallels
VMware can too
I did not know about this, thanks!! Just what I need too!!
Glad to help!
(Love the username)
Unlucky me I have a Mac and a Mavic Pro. Guess it's not apple-cable to me.
Good luck!
Great Ken! Thanks! Cheers from ARGENTINA!!!
I’m not entirely convinced with the physics 🤧🤧
Hi Ken, it's real fun watching your video. You're right. I'm going to make my first drone-steps with this simulator. Regards from Germany.
Awesome!
🇩🇪👍
You can also use on your ipad or any tablet when connected to your controller .......if you dont have a "beefy" computer Ken you should do a video using the simulator that way to
Awesome product. I would be great on those snowy and rainy days here in Colorado.
Heck yeah buddy!
I'm downloading it now. I just bought a mini 2. Haven't flown it yet. I hope the mini 2 controller will work
Did it?
@@TheMrRatzz I couldn't get it to work
Great video Ken, thanks! Do you know if the DJI Simulator will be available for iOS or Mac OS?
Not available for mac
Your awesome man!!! We all have to remain kids while being adults. Keep it up man. Thanks for the entertainment
Agreed.
If having fun every day is kid-like, then I'm just an older kid. 🤓
Super cool! PS LOVE the delorean on the desk!
Thanks Cory!
Another great video Ken subscribed got to be one of best drone channels on here , didn't know about sim downloaded now
Thanks Ken - Winter and high wind will not bother me that much anymore !
What a neat simulator! DJI sure is ahead of their time! Thanks for sharing Ken🤠🤙Much love
Thanks Ken going to try this one for sure thanks
Wowwww... I was just wondering how do I practice before investing into my first drone and then your vid popped up... And yup you answered ALL my questions... Greatly appreciate... Now I need to borrow my buddies drone controller 🇹🇹
It would also be great to have such for the Mavic 3 Enterprise!!!
Thanks man
Ken: I know everybody sayin "crash it,crash it!"
Me: Fuck, he knows what inside my head
That’s so cool, I wonder if my spark controller will work with this simulator. I know that it’s a big file, but it could be fun.
Unfortunately, the Spark controllers aren't compatible.
Ken Heron , darn it thanks for stopping me from wasting time and hard drive space.
GFlad you enjoyed the video!
(The sim won't work on a Mac though.)
Hi Ken. I missed that important bit in the DJI website. That’s weird as all DJI apps are loaded on my Apple ..... do they have plans to develop or release the simulator for. iOS op systems .. it makes no sense to not do so.
Yes, downloaded it and fun to fly!
Thanks, for this Ken. I tried this months ago and got frustrated trying to get my M2P remote to work. I failed and flew a little with my keyboard, which was kind of lame.
Wow I didn’t know it works with the mavic mini controller!
This is amazing Ken....
I will be looking into this tomorrow..
Hi Ken, Did you manage to purchase the enterprise version? Id be interested to know what it cost you, and if it was worth the money if you did buy it.
I'm curious about this too..
That was wild right when I was thinking crash it you yelled CRASH IT lol
Thanks for this Ken! Looks like fun... I have to try it...
That is so cool, can you use your Spark controller with it too?
Spark isn't supported unfortunately.
@@KenHeron Oh bugger, Hang on i got an old p3 standard controller will that work?
How can I order the cable you spoke about, the one that came with my Drone/controller. Is there a model number for the P4 cable etc ?
I get most of my cables from Amazon.
Any data + power cable also works fine per my experience with the phantom controller and the DJI sim on Windows.
Thank you very much for posting this ken . I’ve not been able to launch my drone (P4P+) since Christmas Day when I got to .
You're very welcome, Gery.
Did they ever get back to you for the Enterprise Version Ken?? Would love to see the SAR mission!
I wasn't able to bring myself to drop the $1,300 for it.
@@KenHeron What The FAA ! HOW MUCH?!
I hope you told them where to go...
As we say in good old England.. "Jog on mate!"
Great video, that Simulator is definitely a step up from the one we had in the app. Thanks for the demonstration and cant wait to see what the Enterprise version provides you.
Thanks Jeff!!!
Thanks, cool videos.
ua-cam.com/video/U_5EeeIJf7o/v-deo.html
@@KenHeron It does not seem to be available for Phantom 2. Any suggestions?
I would love to know what brand and model your main computer screen is. Lol Thanks for the video! Buying my first DJI Mavic in a couple of days!
I have an Alienware Area 51 R5.
It has an i9 with 18 cores
64gig DDR4 XMP RAM
Dual GeForce RTX2080 Ti cards
(And really huge SSDs.)
Congrats on the new Mavic!👍
This is awesome! Thanks Ken!
Dam! this is a great simulator. It helps me tone my stick control. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. One question I have is when the drone is hovering with no stick motion, the drone seams to drift. Do you get the same motion
Thanks Ken
It's all part of the simulation.
Thanks Ken
I used the simulator in March and I really enjoyed it, but for some reason it locked my controller up and I could not turn it off. Luckily I contacted DJI and they walked me through the process of fixing it. Great video Ken thanks for sharing. As always L.O.L.
Wow, that's unusual. Glad you figured it out. 👍
Cool beans Ken! Going to do that right now download it! Great info and thanks for the heads up!
Thanks Ken i had no clue this even existed!! Thanks for another killer video!!
Not sure if you ever upgraded but at $1300 us or $2140 au that’s more than a spare real Mavic Pro 2 etc
Did you ever get the Search and rescue mission? Did you ever do a video of that one ?
Ken ...that main display is HUGE....can you please tell make and model
Hey Clay, there's a link in the description. 👍
Can you explain more about your paid memberships. The dearer ones are verrry expensive. Just curious as to what they offer. Thanks.
Phantom 3 Standard not supported, Dang! I really need to upgrade!
Wow this is awesome 😃
Awesome simulator, do you know if the mavic air controller will work? Thanks Ken
nope
Will it work whit the park?
Great demo Ken ! Unfortunately, the last time I checked the requirements, the Mavic Pro controller was not supported.
I think the 2 is.
Wouaw, didn't know about this simulator ! Thanks a lot, you are so funny, and I like your videos. Downloading it right now !
Can you do a full review and turtiol on the holy Stone 720 pleas
I remember with my phantom 3 and 4 back when it came out this was a regular free app that it came with it. It was really nice.
hello. When I install that exe file should I see something in device manager. I still don't seem to be able to connect my mavic 2 pro controller which is part of the current flight simulator
Odd. Make sure the controller is on, and reboot the computer.
so reboot while the controller is on? when I install that file you mention I see that it apparently is installing but under device manager there is no PORT section where the drivers should be. I am using the usb to usb at the bottom as the top one only charges when plugged into the computer.
when I plug my drone into the computer and then turn it on using either of the two ports on the controller I don't get the windows sound that a usb device has been connected. I am very frustrated at this point.
Thank you, Ken!
Love your work mate, thanks
This look Fantastic. I have downloaded this software. But I can not get it to work, it keeps on crashing during install. I have contacted dji to see if they could help. Great demo Ken
John Taylor check your Ram you need 16 GB. Massive high end computer needed... get ready to spend a few k euros ....the same as me 👍
Thanks for the info. I have upgraded my computer with more RAM 32mb plus another graphics card. I still had problems. I got hold of my computer expert that upgraded my computer and he installed the software and it now works great. There was a problem with one of the computer modules. This software is GREAT once you get it working.
@@mapperstwo I've got a 32 gig memory. And i7 7700 k and a NVIDIA GTX 1060 and more than 80 gb HDD free. I should be able to run this
Im downloading it right now! That is freaking awesome!
Cool!😎 I’m going to have to try it!
How about Phantom 3 STANDARD, does it run to this version?
No.
Indeed this is so cool! Thankfully I found your channel! subbed
Hey thanks!
Haaa!
That's awesome, John!
Fantastic work buddy
Thanks Neville
Does the simulator support the DJI goggles RE?! That would be awesome to get practice with them!
I think you can use the goggles with the HDMI of your TV or tablet.
Does it work with the DJI Mini 2? Or at least with the controller, to get my muscle memory and basic skills built up without risking a crash.
By the way, Ken, I'm loving your videos! Good combination of learning but doing in a way that's fun and entertaining. Thanks!
Thanks Stan!
No, it won't work with the Mini 2 controller. However you can use a different controller and still practice in a simulator.
I love you Ken...pause! Keep the vids coming!
Thanks!
(Love you too.)😊
Is there anything like wind in this simulation, because that would make some things a little bit more difficult.
Yes, the paid version has all of that stuff. Wind, rain, etc.
In the hand view I was waiting for the thumbs to control the sticks and watch Ken throw a fit!
Haaaa!!
I thought they'd move when I first saw it!🤣🤣
Been trying it and practicing manual orbits, really fun and useful.
Very good!!
