    When i want to go back to downgrade, it says the files needed to go back to previous version were removed

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  14 днів тому

      If you see the message "The files needed to go back to the previous version were removed," it means the rollback files have been deleted, usually because:
      It's been more than 10 days since the upgrade.
      The cleanup process deleted the "Windows.old" folder.
      Here’s what you can do:
      Option 1: Clean Install Windows 10
      Backup Your Files:
      Save your important files to an external drive or cloud storage.
      Download Windows 10:
      Visit the official Microsoft website: Download Windows 10.
      Create Installation Media:
      Use the Media Creation Tool to create a bootable USB drive.
      Insert the USB and restart your PC, booting from the USB.
      Install Windows 10:
      Follow the on-screen instructions for a clean installation.
      Choose "Custom Installation" and format the drive if necessary.
      Option 2: Contact Microsoft Support
      If you have a valid license for Windows 10, Microsoft may assist you in downgrading without needing to reinstall from scratch. Use the Contact Support option.
      Prevent This in the Future
      Before upgrading, create a system image using the Windows Backup tool or third-party software like Macrium Reflect.
      Keep the Windows.old folder intact if you plan to roll back within 10 days.
      Let me know if you need help with the installation!

    Will this require a new license once you re-install the Windows 10 from the ISO?

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  6 днів тому

      No, you typically won’t need a new license if your system already has a valid Windows 10 or Windows 11 digital license. Windows automatically activates the version tied to your device once you reinstall using the ISO, as long as it matches the edition (Home, Pro, etc.).
      Steps to Ensure Activation:
      Check Your Activation Status:
      Go to Settings > Update & Security > Activation before reinstalling to confirm your license is linked to your Microsoft account or tied to your hardware.
      Sign In with Your Microsoft Account:
      During the setup process, use the same Microsoft account linked to your license for automatic activation.
      Manual Activation:
      If activation doesn’t occur automatically, you can use your existing product key or contact Microsoft support for help.
      Let me know if you need help with the downgrade process!

    I got Window 10 running on my W11-laptop, but it doesn’t seem to be picking up Wi-Fi-like it doesn’t even see any wireless connection, so it can’t go online. As of right now, that’s the only issue, but in this day and age it severely limits what a computer csn do without any online access. Do you know what could be the issue?

    • @backalleystranger
      @backalleystranger 22 дні тому

      did you fix the issue?

    • @mss490
      @mss490 22 дні тому

      @ no. Right now I’m trying Bazzite, but none of the software or games I use are compatible as far as I can tell, and the mouse has a lot of delay-the WiFi works fwiw tho. Really don’t know what to do from here.

      The issue you’re facing is likely due to missing or incompatible network drivers after downgrading from Windows 11 to Windows 10. Here’s how you can resolve this:
      Step 1: Check Device Manager
      1. Open Device Manager:
      • Press Windows + X and select Device Manager.
      2. Look under Network Adapters:
      • If you see a missing or unknown device (often with a yellow exclamation mark), your WiFi driver is not installed.
      Step 2: Download the Correct WiFi Driver
      1. Visit Your Laptop Manufacturer’s Website:
      • Search for the support or drivers page.
      • Enter your laptop model and download the Windows 10 WiFi driver.
      2. Transfer the Driver to Your Laptop:
      • Use a USB stick or external storage to copy the driver file from another device with internet access.
      Step 3: Install the Driver
      1. Transfer the downloaded driver to your Windows 10 laptop.
      2. Double-click the driver file and follow the installation instructions.
      3. Restart your laptop to apply changes.
      Step 4: Enable Network Connections
      1. Open Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center > Change Adapter Settings.
      2. Ensure your WiFi adapter is enabled:
      • Right-click the WiFi connection and select Enable.
      Step 5: Run Windows Updates
      Once the WiFi driver is installed, connect to the internet and run Windows Update:
      1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
      2. Install any available updates to ensure all drivers and dependencies are updated.
      Optional Step: Use a USB WiFi Adapter
      If you can’t get the built-in WiFi working, a USB WiFi adapter can serve as a temporary solution.
      Let me know if you need more help!

      Thank you for this. I ended up giving up on Bazzite to try Win10 again, I found the model of my WiFi card and a driver for it, unzipped and installed it on the Win10 drive, and it worked like a charm.
      I was fearing it was some sort of hardware incompatibility given that it’s a newer laptop that came with W11 as the default, but you’ve been a real life-saver for this lappy. Thank you.

    would it be possible to do this and just lose all my previous files? I do not own an external Hdd and would be okay with restarting my pc and just redownloading stuff

      Actually, yes! It's quite a simple process as well. You can do a clean install to Windows 10 via a bootable usb drive.
      Here are some videos we made to help guide you through this:

    Do I need a USB stick or a DVD for this or is it possible?

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  27 днів тому

      Whether you need a USB stick or DVD to downgrade from Windows 11 to Windows 10 depends on your situation:
      1. If You Upgraded Less Than 10 Days Ago
      Windows allows you to revert to Windows 10 without external media if it’s within 10 days of the upgrade.
      Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Go Back and follow the prompts.
      2. If the 10-Day Window Has Passed
      You’ll need to perform a clean installation of Windows 10, requiring a USB stick or DVD:
      USB Stick: At least 8GB, created using the Windows 10 Media Creation Tool.
      DVD: Burn the Windows 10 ISO file to a DVD if your PC has an optical drive.
      3. No External Media
      If you don’t have a USB or DVD, you can:
      Create a Partition: Download the ISO directly to your PC, mount it, and run the installer.
      Use Network Boot: If supported, install via a PXE network boot from another PC or server.

    Does this method work if I initially installed windows 10 but after a few months it upgraded itself to windows 11 and now I wanna go back?

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  5 місяців тому +2

      If your computer originally came with Windows 10 and later upgraded to Windows 11, you can still go back to Windows 10. However, the ability to downgrade depends on how much time has passed since the upgrade:
      Within 10 Days of Upgrade: You can easily go back using the built-in recovery option.
      Go to Settings > System > Recovery > Go back to revert to Windows 10.
      After 10 Days: You’ll need to perform a clean install of Windows 10.
      Back up your data first, then download the Windows 10 ISO from the Microsoft website and use a bootable USB to install it.
      This method works regardless of whether you originally had Windows 10 before upgrading.

    i wish i could like windows 11, i like the new features and the new customizations but everytime i get a different problem, last time i installed it, it was a perfromance issue that caused me to go back and now its internet, cant load web browsers fast / anything thats online and my download speed keeps fluctuating from 10 MB/s to 2.5 MB/s which is terrible (i pay for 60 MB/s) i did try asking microsoft but they gave me a typical response and ghosted me

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  3 місяці тому

      I totally understand your frustration! Windows 11 does bring cool features, but those performance and internet issues can be a dealbreaker. For the fluctuating download speeds, here are a few things you can try:
      Check Network Drivers: Go to Device Manager and update your network adapter drivers.
      Disable Power Saving for Network: In Device Manager, right-click your network adapter > Properties > Power Management, and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
      Flush DNS Cache: Open Command Prompt as admin and type ipconfig /flushdns.
      Reset Network Settings: Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
      If these steps don’t help, reverting back to Windows 10 may be the better option for stability until these issues are ironed out. Let me know if you need more help!

    if i copy all my files to a cloud like onedrive, could i restore them back onto my pc after the downgrade (would i just login back to the cloud and restore?) , is this the same of an external drive as well (do i copy the files from the drive back into the pc?) is it that easy or more complicated? thanks im just experiencing issues with windows 11

    • @indigosoftware9625
      @indigosoftware9625  3 місяці тому

      Yes, backing up your files to OneDrive or an external drive can make the restore process straightforward! Here’s how it works:
      1. Using OneDrive:
      Backup: Copy all your files to OneDrive by dragging them into your OneDrive folder.
      Restore After Downgrade: Once you reinstall Windows and log back into OneDrive, your files will sync automatically. You can choose to download them locally by right-clicking the files or folders and selecting Always keep on this device.
      2. Using an External Drive:
      Backup: Copy your files to an external drive by dragging and dropping them.
      Restore After Downgrade: After reinstalling Windows, plug in the external drive and copy the files back to your PC.
      Is It That Easy?
      Yes, it really is that simple! Just make sure to double-check that all files have successfully backed up before downgrading. This way, you’ll have a seamless experience restoring them to your PC afterward.

      Yes, you can go back to Windows 11 after downgrading to Windows 10. Here's how:
      1. Clean Install Windows 11
      Download the Media Creation Tool: Go to the Microsoft Windows 11 download page and create bootable installation media.
      Use the USB drive to perform a clean installation of Windows 11.
      2. Use Windows Update
      If your system previously had Windows 11:
      Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
      Check for updates, and you should be prompted to upgrade back to Windows 11.
      3. Activation Note
      If your device was previously activated with Windows 11, you won’t need a new product key; it will automatically activate after installation.
