    Hey guys! Just checking in to let you know there might be some sections of this video later on where the audio gets a little rough, I think the GoPro was having trouble with some of the colder temps that moved in throughout the week.
    You also might notice the editing in this video is a little different than usual, I wanted to try out some better editing software, and it is taking some getting used to. This is my first video with the new program, so please let me know what you think! As always, thanks for watching, and I am looking forward to a great 2023 season!

    Another great video. You've become my favorite ADK's youtuber. Was there anyone else camping on the lake when you were there? The wind can be a major factor canoe tripping. Experienced it many times. Your "meet up" canoe camping get together is a great idea. You might have to have a lottery system with all your viewers. Have a great 2023 season!

    Another great one, lil buddy! That was truly a hit and miss week you had. I'm on board with a big get-together! I'm not right very often, but I guess I hit the mark on calling a good bite one day, lol Peace out...

    Great video Jay, wind is one reason I like fishing out of my boat . Wind swept points are great to fish and you really can't do it right in a canoe. Plus my back won't let me st in a canoe for more than a couple of hours.

      @dannywhitney, I'm 69 and also have a bad back. I picked up a combination seat and backrest that straps right to a canoe seat on Amazon. The backrest is adjustable for different angles and it has allowed me to keep paddling.

    Great way to end the season Jay. Already looking forward to 2023 to see your adventures. If you have a good tackle shop you use or Amazon you can get a set of jaw spreders for $10 - $15. It's like having a 3rd hand to hold the mouth open.

      You are totally right, it is always a tough decision for me when that is happening. Sometimes I definitely get a little overly optimistic about their chance of survival, I just really hate taking a fish back to camp when I have so much food with me already, it almost feels wasteful, but of course the same can be said about leaving it to die.

    I’ve enjoyed watching a few of these fishing trips, and have yet to see what lures you prefer, except you mention daredevils here and show a plug. Use a wire leader? Some instruction on how to use your electronics? In the 60s my family spent 8 summers visiting Pope Bay, east from that leanto, caught lots of pike, bass, and perch. Great presentation here.

    Seems like you sure like the pike more than the Bass. Never caught Bass and I've caught tons of pike so I'm curious why you love the pike so much. Fight? Size?....cant be the smell LOL.

      @DaxWoodsWanderer  Рік тому

      I honestly think my love of Northern Pike comes from my grandfather. We first started going up to the St Lawrence River to catch Pike when I was REAL young, and was just instantly hooked by their insane size, toothy mouths and the fight they put up that leaves the drag on your reel singing. Sorry for the late reply!

    Enjoyed the video man. I'd love to see something get setup with you and the adk addicts. I'd definitely try to make it if possible.
    The AA crew is getting into canoe camping and this will be my first year trying it out.
    Makes so much sense merging my love for kayak fishing with my love for backpacking.
    It would be cool to do a youtube meet up. Let me know if you guys are interested 😊

    What are your favorite pike lures in ADK? Do you target deep water or weed beds? Great videos!

    • @DaxWoodsWanderer
      @DaxWoodsWanderer  11 місяців тому

      It really depends on the time of year and temp of the water. For deep water I really like the Northland Tackle deep diving lures, for shallow water I really like a Mepps #5 Aglia. Thanks for watching man!
