  • This is the final part of my 10 day Adirondack ice-out canoe trip. Follow along on days 7, 8, 9 and 10 of my journey! In this part I finally meet up with John and Logan from the ADK_Addicts, but my luck fishing changes dramatically. Even with the bite being slow, we manage to have some great days and nights camping together, eating some great food and enjoying some great company.
If you would like to hear a bit more about this trip, I appeared on the 46 of 46 Podcast on 5/27/2022. You can hear James and I talk about some of the aspects and hardships of this trip, as well as some other great conversation. He produces a great show and each episode is useful to everyone who recreates in the Adirondacks, not just hikers. Link to his website and the podcast is below!

We fished hard, had a ton of fun camping and did indeed eat some great meals. No better way to spend time in the woods.

Another great adventure, can't wait to see what the ADK grace you with this year. I did 3 trips up last year, but I don't think I'll be able to swing any this year due to fuel prices. So needless to say I'll be waiting anxiously to share the adventures of you and ADK Addicts and hopefully some others like fastfredy13662 and Nature Into Action.

Have you ever tried using a fly rod with weighted line? I always carry one and will put a wolly bugger on. It fishes the same way as a wobbler and some day's they just seem to want only bugs.

I plan on learning some fly fishing this year, but have never fished with a fly rod before. I have used flies like a wooly bugger or others on the end of the Wabbler though, it definitely works!

Do you think the depth finder is really helpful for finding/catching fish? I am still trying to get dialed in on trout fishing up there lol. . . Been toying with the idea of a portable depth finder.

I do think something cheap like what I use for just knowing the depth is really helpful. It is light, cheap and easy to setup. For trips with no or fewer carries I did pick up the same fish finder unit that John from the ADK_Addicts has, I just have not had a chance to feature it in a video yet!

@@DaxWoodsWanderer I noticed that he also uses one, and tends to catch fish pretty consistently. I'll figure those damn trout out eventually. . . Just need to spend more time up there! Great video, keep them coming!
