It is over 90 today so our grass is still growing between the temp, rain and sunshine. I have Lespedeza and a few other weeds that have starting growing. I killed a lot of them last year and my lawn held up well until the last few months.

I've taken your advice and did not apply the pre emergent this fall due to a new yard planted from seed. My yard is small at 60x60 so I will wait until spring to make my first application. Just spot treat with Spectracide until then. I do not have a walk behind spreader due to the small area. What would you recommend on a Whirl? Mid range 3 or 4 at an average pace? I will be using YM 0-0-7.

Both work great 👍🏾, liquid however may give you a more even coverage but requires more work to apply like measuring, pump or back spraying and time.
Granular is easier to apply, faster with a broadcast spreader. Less math. But may not give best coverage on a lawn that’s not completely filled in with grass.
