Historically this is what Porsche's GT cars have always sounded like, the screaming high pitched note of today only came about in the later years of the 997 era.
Argis agreed. This car sounds nearly identical and people are praising it but the new RSR people write off as “weak” or “not as good as the older one” which makes no sense
@@MoskusMoskiferus1611@olivierdo3530 I understand what you mean, but that also has to do with the RPM they operate in during racing. These operate in a broader spectrum in comparison with the newer RSR. It partially has to do with the gearing.
It has to do with the fact that the exhaust gases coming from both cylinder banks of the flat 6 on these do not crossover. You're essentially hearing two inline 3 engines simultaneously. With Porsches that have a crossover section or X-pipe you get the more high pitched screaming wail and a true 6-cylinder sound.
996 GT3 RSR my dream car. One Day i will buy one for trackdays. My Father took me to the Nordschleife 2005 and i saw the Land Porsche, that was the moment when i saw my dream car for the first time O.o :D
Hi Bozzy.🙋 Although I'm not bombarding you with comments these days, I'm still here, loving every video.👏 The GT3 RSR is an incredible machine with such amazing grip and a lovely sound. Keep up the great work and have a wonderful day, my brother.😄 Ciao!
I remember Autolando going to Le Mans (White one) but not this Prospeed 'if I'm correct' (Red Bull) going hence the number on the side. But huge thanks for bringing back sound memories. I once participated in a rally team that was going with 996.2 GT3 and at events it had straight pipes. Sound was up there you know.
So I played this side by side with the New RSR Exhaust config, and I see that the newer 991 RSR has a huskier, yet mellow, more buzzing base to it which vibrates the zone around it, where as the 996 RSR is much lighter on base and a lot more rough and ragged as well. Other than that, you could barely tell them apart.
These just something amazing about the yellow tints on the 996 RSR.
Watching Bozzy Video's in the morning is like waking up with a stiffy

This was the first race car I ever heard up close, and it was amazing. Petit Le Mans, Road Atlanta, 2000.
Sounds a lot like the new updated 2020 991 rsr

Only ones with double center exhaust has a high pitched sound.
Love the sound of this generation of 911. Less single toned compared to their modern counterparts.
The new 2020 RSR sounds like this but twice as loud
@@robertohernandez4572. More high pitched

the 997 is kinda the same for me, it's a little bit deeper, but I think it's my favourite sounding 911, the 4.0 rsr that is
F1 V6: loud but no throatiness
Porsche flat six: loud but more throaty
What is throty?

ill race you when i get my 997 rsr! ;D
I hope u achieve that dream tho and I want a 996 rsr or a 997 rsr
I remember the Flying Lizards and Petersen Lighting's RSR at Le Mans 2005.
That throaty engine sound of my childhood is almost gone in modern cars 😔
Love the 996 RSR, great sounding, great looking and achieved unreal things in GT2, although they didn’t have much competition until 2006
The 360 was its "closest" competitor in NGT class, but still the 996 was a juggernaut. In GTR2 the 360 AI cars were a tad bit faster than the 996s
I remember watching the White Lightning RSRs on ALMS TV as a kid. Such a cool car and a nice little trip down nostalgia lane! Thanks!
Ahhh yes, one of my favorite modern Porsche race cars.

Still has that playstation 2 decal haha, love it
Thanks for sharing this one. As an owner of a 996, I have a soft spot for the same in the RSR. The ugly duckling sounds amazing.
Very awesome Bozz !
