It happens when it's mathematically impossible for anyone to overtake 1st place on the amount of points till the end of the season. If A1 has, let's say 200 points, second place (B2) has 150, there's 4 races to go and the most points you can win on a single race is 10, that means that the most points you can get in 4 races is 40, and the minimum is 0. The championship would still go to A1 if A1 did nothing and B2 won everything they could. Believe it or not this situation happens all the time, usually the last teams become out of contention much sooner, sometimes everybody does.
Best race of the season so far! Glickenhaus much more competitive, very fun to see. Great GTE AM fight for the lead, and lots more overtakes in hypercar. Well done monza

WEC noob here, some questions you can maybe answer: - why Ferrari's crew in the last pit stop waited so long to start changing tyres? - the commentary quite highlights the fact that Ferrari put on medium tyres, during that pit stop. Why? And how did they see it?
They were still fueling the car. You are not allowed to do any other work while fueling is happening. Mainly because the wheel guns can produce big sparks, and fuel (in the event of a leak)+sparks=bad time.
This is my second race after le mans and i am enjoying it alot better than f1 though i am a great fan of f1 but it is becoming boring when a team dominates while here endurance races are joyful i like it

Disappointment with the new regulations in f1 which did not bring the closer racing that they promised. I started watching WEC and its just better in everyway.
WOW! 2:50 The 8 Toyota just gave zero f**ks and ran that 777 Aston straight into the wall! I get the Aston might’ve been in the way of a higher class car, but he had nowhere to go! Especially not while getting pinched to the edge right before the braking zone. Buemi, who was driving the number 8 deserved a disqualification for that car entirely, in my opinion. That was ridiculous and completely unacceptable.

Toyota best car of the pack. Deserved win, both of the Monza 6h and I think the championship. Great effort from the red guys as always considering we are basically at our first year in HC. Sempre forza Ferrari, hopefully next year we will give Toyota a hard time in every race and not only in Le Mans 😂
Tbh if they cannot do BoP properly LMH cars has advantage. Because chassis restriction exist in LMDh and it's not fair . So you can't say Toyota has better package since Cadillac and Porsche are not in same condition. It's a shame WEC failed BoP
The Toyota is just a tweaked LMP1. Everyone else has a proper clean sheet design. BoP has its issues as well. Other than Toyota very excited about this category.

1 minute stop and go penalty for 8 toyota, in f1 for the same thing you receive 5 or 10 seconds penalty....

What is unacceptable is GT drivers not checking their mirrors for the Prototypes. Too many races are decided by blocking.
