2022 BMW M4 GT3 in action: Sound, Accelerations & Downshifts at Monza Circuit!

- The BMW M4 GT3 is for sure the GT car I was aiming to record the most during 2022. And I'd say the first attempt didn't go that bad. I managed to see it during a Kateyama test day at Monza Circuit last week and in particular it's the one of the Italian team Ceccato Racing.
The new GT3 car succeeds the BMW M6 GT3 and it's based on the latest generation of BMW M4 G82 from which it also maintains the engine. The 3.0-litre, twin-turbo straight-6 P58 engine is able to produce up to 590hp (limited according to the class' Balance of Performance) and it's linked to a Xtrac 6-speed gearbox.

The times that I've seen it I could barely hear it with all the other racecar sounds.

I mean its not like the other cars are any louder. The only ones that stand out are the c8s and the 911s.
@@greaser3069 the other cars are much louder except for the Aston Martin which sounds like a 4 cylinder mustang lol
@@floppa933 Not really. I saw them in Hungary and you could hear it quite clearly among the other cars.
If they are not driving with a silencer you can clearly head them between the other GT3s
If the front grill looked like this from factory I would definitely have less of an issue with it. This grill looks aggressive and angry.
Gotta wait for a csl model to come.

Always cool to see new people getting interested in sportscar racing. I've seen the vids of TJ as well but I've been watching GT racing for a while. That is why I liked TJs vids. As a big fan of sportscar racing it is so cool to see all the details of the transformation. If you wanna watch races which have ONLY GT3 cars then GT World Challenge is a good start. This series also includes the 24h of Spa which is the holy grail when it comes to GT racing. In this series you'll have all the manufacturers competing. Like Mercedes, Mclaren, Ferrari, Porsche, BMW, Honda/Acura, Lexus/Toyota and so on. The first race of the season will be on the 29th of april and at least in Europe the races will be streamed on UA-cam. Endurance racing also has GT classes. But the GT Class shares the track with other classes like Hypercar and LMP2 at the same time. Best series here are WEC, ELMS and IMSA. For 2023 WEC and ELMS are using GTE cars instead of GT3. GTE are basically GT3 on steroids. But it will be the last year of GTE because it got too expensive. Next year they are going to switch to GT3. On the 29th of april there will be the next round in Spa Franchorchamps and it is gona be awesome. For WEC there are no free streams. Outside of the US you can buy access passes for each race on their website. And without a doubt the most important and insane race will be the 24h of le mans. It is in june. I honestly thought the car looked great with the ducktail. Probably didnt need to skin the trunk lid but its still gonna be great

She's faster in the corners but lost some straight linie speed because the V8 in the M6 had a little bit more punch.
But tyre managment is way better with the M4.
You can push way longer the M6 had a tyre wear problem.
@@michaeld.uchiha9084 It's probably got more to do with the way the M4 creates downforce versus the M6. The M4 is more reliant on that new big, high wing instead of the diffusor/underbody aero. The wing creates more aerodynamic drag but it makes the car's grip a lot more reliable over bumps and during weight transfers. BMW have stated they did this to make the car easier to drive consistently, to make it more attractive to gentlemen drivers.

It looks aggressive but not stunning, it is kinda ugly tbh, the wheels look small in the arches and the nose is too bulky. Gone are the day of beautiful gt race car bimmers :(

Agreed that it looks good. I absolutely hate the new M3/M4, enough that after seeing them in person I immediately traded in my 4 series for an AMG. But the grill seemingly works on this race car. I wish the road car looked more like this.

Thats pretty excellent driving. Look at the patience into T1 and the perfect apex on exit. Also notice the full throttle but using brake to stabilize the car in final complex
My thoughts exactly. That first turn ruins almost every car I’ve seen tackle it. I’m not a BMW guy, but that’s one serious car.

I really wish it revved higher. It’s a pretty great sound, especially on downshifts. I hope they allow for higher hp in GT3 racing. 600hp seems reasonable.

Having seen it in person it’s certainly not the loudest car, but I think it sounds really nice in the braking zones
There's 2 Versions of the M4 GT3, one's got a muffler after the Turbo but still retains the side pipes, that's probably what you heard then. Because the other Version is Straight piped.

Edit: i was at the spa 24h this year and it sounded pretty muffled in the beginning, but later in the race it suddenly sounded louder idk. The downshifts on these things are soo nice tho 😍

So I saw it race in person today and although its not a 911 or a c8, it surprisingly sounds pretty cool. It has some crazy blow off sounds and the engine has a super smooth note to it. It also looks great but when the c8 is nearby, you cant hear it lol
Heard it during the GTWC Europe at Paul Ricard, the sound is pretty decent, but because of the side exhausts you hear it during a small amount of time compared to all the rear exhaust cars (Porsche, Audis and Lambos..etc)
