99 was purchased by Edmonton from Indy. I could have tossed Doughty into LA, but I felt Kopitar is the cornerstone (first draft of the rebuild) and Quick was their leader for their Cups. That's why I put Kopitar and Quick ahead of Doughty. Thanks for watching, Templar Wizard.
Now that future Hall of Famer Marian Hossa has retired, Alexander Barkov is well-primed to be his successor. He should win a Selke Award soon... he is that good.
I really like Barkov, but he's only played 4 years. Too early to call him the best. But with Florida's lousy drafting history, Barkov could soon claim the top spot. Thanks for watching.
Exactly, almost identical career ppg (0.70 vs 0.71) and last 2 seasons Barkov racked up more points in less games while being a complete 200 foot player. I would go as far as to say that MacKinnon isn't even nearly comparable in terms of what he brings to his team. This season Barkov has league's highest toi/gp for all forwards.
No disrespect to Spezza, who has scored tons (although all those blind drop passes drove Ottawa fans insane for years), but I would absolutely put Karlsson into the no-brainers. His skill is transcendent.
Ottawa was tough because Karlsson is soooooo good and sooooo talented that he really should be in the no brainers. But Spezza has achieved too much to simply not mention him. 10th in scoring is not a small accomplishment and it had to be mentioned. Thanks for commenting and watching, William.
Kind of A Beauty 30 goals is a good year too, he's only had a few years under his belt but he doesnt have any skimpy years yet and he having a very good start to this year, he is showing some very bright colors and he is still very young.
I felt Kopitar and Quick were a step ahead of Doughty. No question Drew is a very valuable part of the Kings success, but Kopitar is the cornerstone and Quick is the reason they've won Cups. Thanks for watching, Korilla.
Jay Beagle the video mentions plenty of first and second overall picks so I don’t think position matters as much. I’m simple saying doughty has had just as much impact if not more than quick/kopi to at least get a mention in the video. (Coming from a kings fan) Also to your point I think doughty has had a better career than stammer (although injuries have played a part) and he could be seen as being “stolen” from the TBL
2 awful Islanders trades: Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha for Olli Jokinen and Luongo (june 2000) or Alexei Yashin for Zdeno Chara, 2nd overall pick in 2001 (Jason Spezza) and Bill Muckalt (june 2001)
All of the suggested trades here are brutal. Brandyn has nailed perhaps the most popular one. Lots to think about. A Top 10 list of worst trades would only scratch the surface. Worst trade of all time still goes to Chicago trading Esposito to Boston in 1967.
I would argue that Schwartz is a better all round player than teresenko. Ive seen it for a while but he's really putting on a show in this young season.
I agree with you that Schwartz is an all around better player (he played in Notre Dame, SK after all!) But I couldn't ignore the game breaking ability of Tarasenko. Plus his 5 on 5 goal totals are so good when most other snipers rely heavily on PP totals to help them. Thanks for commenting and watching.
Its cuz hes stupid that's why he only knows shit based in the most popular teams in the league. Hes always talking shit about teams like the coyotes and panthers. He said in the vid that Atlanta and hockey didnt mix well even though they had tremendous fan support. The thrashers moved to Winnipeg bcuz of ownership willing to pay more attention to the Atlanta hawks of the NBA.
Chara was drafted in 1996, so he's out. Datsyuk was drafted in 1998, so he's out, too. I felt Kopitar and Quick were/are on a level just above Doughty. Although I could have tossed him in because he is no question a very valuable member of the current organization. Thanks for watching, Jnmaniac1.
I probably should have added Doughty to LA. I looked at Monahan, but Gaudreau's numbers are quite a bit better over the same time frame, so it was a pretty easy decision once I looked at their stats. You can't ignore the work of Rinne and Spezza to leave them off the list. Although I personally believe Weber and Karlsson are the better choices. I'm not a huge fan of Hedman. He's a power play guy who has poor +/- on a good team. Pietrangelo is good, but I don't think he's up to Tarasenko's standard. I appreciate you sharing your point of view, The sports Fanatic. Thanks for watching.
I believe Carey Price is the clear choice and put him in the No Brainers category. I only mentioned more than one player if I felt it was relatively close among more than one draftee during this period. I don't think it's even close who Montreal's best pick of the century is so far. Thanks for watching, Litch King.
Im i might of missed it but where were the sens in the no-brainers i mean karlsson 15th over pick and is the best defence in the league he has 2 norris trophy's
He was not. I put Karlsson with Spezza in the second category. No question, Karlsson is the best Dman in the world right now. But Spezza has done too much to ignore so I felt they both needed mentioning. Thanks for watching, BOBBY RYAN.
Ottawa Senators Mark stone? 4th or 5th round? He's 4th in goals this year and is always number one in interceptions. Jason Spezza? Point per game player with the Sens ?
No question. If this video looked before the turn of the century, it would impossible not to pick Hank and Dank. Thanks for watching, Chewy Gaming (awesome username!).
Well, McDavid has won a Hart and Art Ross and Matthews has a 40 goal season and Calder. Eichel has none of those things. I'd say there is clear separation between them. Thanks for watching, Donovan.
TopCornerHockey but you legit said "he's played less than 2 years not enough time to call him the best ".then puts Matthews there. Your obviously is going for stats
I felt Buffalo didn't have a clear choice as best pick. Vanek isn't a great pick, but he's the best pick they've made since 2000. He had 6 really good years, then disappeared. Eichel might become the best Buffalo pick, but he's only played 2 years. Thanks for watching, Greg.
Their contracts are up in 2018 and they're diminishing skills all suggest it's time for them to go. I really hate it when great players hang around for too long (Paul Coffey). It takes some of the shine off their crown. Thanks for watching, Kye.
I would say Johnny Hockey needs to play at a high level for another 5 seasons to really see how good he is. No question he's having a fine start to his 17-18 year. Thanks for watching, Killary.
Thanks Talon! I have a nephew named Talon. I've never heard that name used before. My nephew lives in Alberta. Where are you from? Thanks for watching.
Well, Pitt already had Fleury, so they weren't in the market for a tender. But I would say Montreal would be better. Sid has been the best player in the world since 05, so I would put my $ on whatever team got Crosby. Good question/comment, Hockey Beast. Thanks for watching.
Oh yeah. Brian Burke could hardly contain himself when Anaheim was a finalist for the Crosby lottery. Franchise changing player. And the Ducks already had Getzlaf and Perry in the system. Having Sid and Getz as your two top centremen would have been awesome.
If I’m the Caps and I get another shot at that draft, I’m picking Malkin. Don’t get me wrong, Ovi is an amazing hockey player and the best pure scorer in the game today. But Malkin is a Center, which means he does more on the ice than Ovi can at wing, that’s just the nature of the position. And hardcore fans know Malkin would have more points in his career if he wasn’t playing behind Crosby. Whenever Sid goes down, Malkin turns into a complete monster. If he was THE guy for a team, there’s no doubt he’d have higher career totals.
No question that depth of centre Pitt has enjoyed with Sid and Gino has been crucial to their success. You make some very strong points, G20. Malkin does play in Sid's shadow, but he's confident and humble enough to not let it bother him. He seems very comfortable with his 3 Stanley Cup rings. It was a shame the NHL didn't include him among their Top 100. Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey Oh you’re totally right, I don’t think Malkin is too upset about having 3 cups lol I don’t think it bothers him either to be behind Sid
I just checked again and 7 is correct. 8 times a goalie has won it (Hasek in '97 and '98), but only 7 different goalies have won the Hart trophy. Roy Worters in 1929, Chuck Rayner in 1950, Al Rollins in 1954, Jacque Plante in 1962, Hasek, Theodore in 2002 and Price in 2015. But I appreciate you paying attention to and watching my videos. Thanks for the encouragement, Killer Manzarek.
I do have a list of Top 10 Undrafted players by position. I just need to produce it. I'm not sure if every team has a good undrafted player in their history. I'd have to double check my research. If so, I can modify the video for each team. If not, then I'll just have to stick to my plan. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching.
Neither has put in the time nor has the numbers to compete with Bouwmeester's. Maybe if Barkov had 3 x 30 goal seasons already, but his career best is only 28. And maybe if Ekblad hadn't been hurt then he could have at least been a Norris finalist, but he's not even close to one so far. Thanks for watching, 101JuventusFan.
I love that idea, Ryan! Absolutely love it! Putting together a list of which players would be hard to narrow down. How about I take the best current goal scorers or players per franchise. Does that sound like a good idea? Otherwise I have have to consider players from all 100 years of NHL play.
I have plans to do an all time team per country. I'm also going to project what each country would have looked like if they were going to have NHLers at the Olympics this year. That'll come out around February. Thanks for commenting and watching, Jacob.
Best trade is a great idea! I have researched worst trades, but I never thought about best trades. In some cases, one team's worst trade would be the other team's best, so the research might not take that long. Thanks, Tim. I'll give you a name drop when I make it. Thanks!
Indeed! It should be cool seeing who’s getting the good deals, and who’s getting the short end of the stick! No rush too, enjoy researching it! I’ll be looking out for the video!
TopCornerHockey I think it would be interesting to see a video about trades, where both teams benefitted hugely from the trade, no one ever talks about them...
I do have a list about Even Trades (Iginla for Nieuwendyk or Ciccarelli for Gartner are two of the best examples). I'll get to that video someday. Thanks for watching and commenting, Artturi.
How about Best NHL enforcers/scrappers per team? This is a great opportunity to talk about players that while they may not be known for scoring, they get their teams and fans pumped even if they're losing. I'm thinking Chris Neil, Derek Boogaard, George Laraque, Brandon Prust, Kevin Bieksa, Rick Rypien, Donald Brashear, Joey Kocur, Milan Lucic, Craig Coxe... And who can possibly forget Bob Probert? If you do make this video, it would be important to mention their respective weight classes and maybe the eras in which they played.
I've thought about doing a Top 10 Enforcer video, but I'm not a fighting advocate. Although I think it does belong in the game and would hate to see it completely removed, I don't, "like" it most of the time. I enjoy a good donneybrook once in a while and who could forget those great tilts between Domi and Probert when Tie was in NY and Bob was with the Wings. Classic. I might do a list in the future, but it's not something I think I would do anytime soon. I appreciate your suggestion though, Randomizer903. It's very kind of you to get involved in my videos. Thank you.
That might be hard to do. I would have to limit it to career back ups because a lot of guys start as back ups then graduate to starters. But if you want me to explore full time back ups then I can give that a go. What do you say, Dale? Thanks for watching.
There was absolutely zero question about 1OA in Ovechkin's draft year. At no point was Malkin considered a threat for 1st. Dunno what you're basing that on, but Ovechkin was like McDavid in his draft year.
Stammer has done too much for too long for Kuch to contend with him. No question, Kucherov looks great right now, but he's got a long way to catch up to Stamkos' accomplishments. Thanks for watching, Colby.
Bergeron is by far the best draft pick for the Bruins since 2000. There's a reason the other two guys are no longer there and Bergy continues to flourish despite being on a mediocre team. The accolades speak for themselves
How did I know you'd say that...Hahaha. I agree he is the best among the three of them, but you must admit that Kessel and Seguin have produced some great accomplishments of their own. This is why I felt I could not ignore them. Thanks for watching and commenting, dude!
You nailed it, Templar Wizard. 20 career NHL games is nothing. Far too soon. But Keller looks great so far, no question about that. Thanks, Kai and Templar Wizard for commenting and watching.
Thank you for answering before I could respond, Bennet. Obviously Shayan, both Datsyuk and Zetterberg are better than Kronwall, but the could not be considered for this list because of their draft years. Thank you both for watching.
Thank you so much Sierra. Eichel hasn't put in the time and therefore does not have the accomplishments Vanek has. If I did this again in 5 years, there is a very good chance Eichel would be the Sabres best pick since 2000.
I'm keeping that close to the vest, Hockey By Andrej122. I don't want to favour any team on my channel. Although I have no problem dumping on AZ because I really do think they're the worst franchise in pro sports and they should have been moved long ago. Thanks for commenting and watching, my friend.
I can tell you're a Sens fan, Andrej. I went to university in Ottawa and got to see the Sens play back in the early 2000s. I hope they get their downtown rink because taking the bus out to Kanata sucks!
I've heard of Larkin but I don't know anyone who spells their name, "andres athnushue". Larkin has played 2 years, dude. And unless they were both 40 goal seasons, he hasn't been around long enough to really evaluate. Thanks for watching, Mass Euro.
Waaaaay to early for Eichel. He's played two seasons and while both were good, they were not out of this world. Miller was really great for 7 years and I probably should have included him. I chose Vanek because 40 goal seasons in today's NHL is like getting 50 goals 30 years ago. So for Vanek to have 2 x 40+ goal seasons over a 3 year period there, I felt was just too special. Thanks for commenting and watching, Eric.
I agree with the no brainers. I think hands down Giroux is the better player and his stats support that theory. Also, Kronwall was a solid defenseman. That’s what he is. A defenseman. Gritty, hard hitting, covers a lot of the ice. The Wings didn’t need a “stellar” defenseman at the time given the pre existing roster, but Kronwall was the right choice
How can you NOT add Mikko Koivu to Minnesotas picks? Picked in 2001, Captain since 2009 Face of the Franchise, missed top 5 on points ONCE since 05-06, lead the team in scoring Thrice (and tied once) , leads the team in All Time points, assists and games played. Soo... Really?
I love Mikko Koivu. If you watched my 2017-18 preseason, Top 50 players videos, I ranked him at #18. He's a fabulous, 3 zone, 200' player who plays well in all situations. However, he is not the game breaker Gaborik was. Gabby was also the face of the franchise for so long and is still a player many people think of when they think of the Wild. And Burns has become one of the best Dmen in the league. His transformation from defense to offense then back to D is quite astonishing and something never seen before in the NHL. I probably should have included Koivu and make it a 3 way selection though. I apologize for that. Thanks for watching.
New comment on an old video but finally watching this - I don't think San Jose should be a no brainer - it's between Pavelski and Couture, but the value we got Pavelski at maybe puts him over the top. Couture may be the more valuable player out of the two though with his two-way game and all around play.
Lundqvist has a 7 straight seasons with 30+ wins record... Wasn't mentioned, but with the other goalies their seasons streaks with 30 wins was mentioned hmm...
His trade from Boston or Toronto? Everyone knew Burke paid too much for Phil. Meanwhile, the Leafs only have Kapanen left from the Pittsburgh deal if I remember correctly. They were just happy to dump the majority of Kessel's contract. Thanks for commenting, Ryan.
I don't know how it all works, but I guess as long as the two clubs agree to everything, you can trade anyone for anything. Remember when the Wings got Kris Draper from Winnipeg for $1?
maybe it was accepted he was a fourth liner or whatever. but toronto as a garbage team giving up 2 firsts is insane and congrats to boston milking a 2nd as well...i still think i'm more pissed about steen+ getting traded for fucking stempniak though.
That Steen for Stempniak was complete garbage! I don't what was going on there. Everyone knew Steen would become a solid player (good bloodlines). Cliff Fletcher was a good Leafs GM in the early 90s, but a horrible intern GM in the mid 2000s.
Nope. I felt, because Eichel has 4 fewer seasons of 30+ goals than Vanek, that he didn't deserve to be put ahead of the big Austrian. Thanks for watching.
Canucks would have to be Boeser, Sedins or Horvat. Many players picked before them didn't produce to the level they produced and they have/are making huge impacts for the team
The twins were picked in 1999, so they don't count. Horvat is only in his 4th year and Boeser is only half way into his first season. Given that those two don't have much experience in the league, Kesler is the clear choice. Thanks for watching and commenting, Colby.
I could have, and none of those would be a wrong answer. But Weber is the best answer in my opinion. He's the only one mentioned above who has had success over many years. Thanks for watching, Drew.
You know, Jacob, I have a Top 10 video of most lethal shooters ready to go. Let me know if you still want best slappers and wristers after seeing what I've done. So just hold on, and get back to me after you see what I've already put together. I'll post it soon. Thanks.
At the time, I felt Kopitar and Quick were just a little more valuable than Doughty. However, in hindsight, I probably should have added Doughty in. Thanks for watching.
Huge, huge difference between them, TPCWord - Top 5 Space Videos!. McDavid has a scoring title and MVP. Eichel isn't even close to either of those lofty achievements. I'm sure you can see that sound reasoning. Thanks for watching.
I would say that Mitch Marner has been Torontos best pick, with Austin Mathews he has done his job since day one before mathews. Now with Mathews and JT he has only gotten a lot better. 94 points this year his playmaking is amazing and boy can he shoot. Marner is always left in Mathews Shadow but Marner is the real deal and work horse of the team often think he is the heart of the team and would be Captain over Mathews.
Karlsson hands down for the Sens and MacKinnon in Colorado. Not to say Duchene was a great contributor to the Avs and will be remembered as such, he was never an out-and-out number 1 - he needed guys like Stastny and O'Reilly around him. MacKinnon is just showing what he's really capable of and it's scary.
Alfredsson was everything for Ottawa for so long and Karlsson is not even close to approaching the kind of individual or team accomplishments Alfredsson has and did. When I made this video, MacKinnon's best season was still his rookie year. He had suffered to regain that magic until 2017-18. But you're right, what a year he's having now. Thanks for commenting and watching, fluntimes.
While I agree that Bergeron is the best pick the Bruins have made this century, I would’ve though Brad Marchand would make the cut as well. The dude has surpassed 30 goals the last two years and probably will again this year....
Although I think he's a dirty player, I think Brad Marchand is a quality hockey player, too. However, his importance to the Bruins is not as significant as Bergeron's. I think there is a clear separation there and that's why I didn't add Marchand in. Thanks for watching. Hilarious username by the way! HAHAHA!
Move the Canucks to the go either way category and add Bo Horvat, or even one of Brock Boeser or Elias Pettersson. However maybe the latter are too early in their careers. Horvat for sure though.
Wheeler is a pretty solid player and I love what he brings to the Jets, but I would go OEL all the way, he could easily have 1-2 Norris trophies if it wasn't for his mediocre team
I agree with you. If Ekman-Larsson played on a good team, he would probably have even better numbers and he wouldn't have to play 25+ mins a game. Thanks for commenting and watching, Brandyn.
Thanks Looch1717. I felt I had to include Spezza because he's had terrific production and no one remembers that. This along with doing it for so long, I felt made him impossible to ignore. That being said, I would choose Karlsson as the more valuable player if I had to pick one. Thanks for watching.
I like Barkov and his first 4 NHL seasons have been good, but not spectacular. For young players to make my list, they have to have some NHL awards like McDavid does. Thanks for watching, Artturi.
TopCornerHockey I think that you're looking too much at the point tallies since barkov is such a great two way forward, and will probably win a Selke anytime soon. Bouwmeester has been pretty garbage lately as well, but I respect your opinion.
No doubt, Bouwmeester is slowing down. But he's played 1100 NHL games, won gold medals at international tournaments, he's played over 25 mins a night on average most seasons. Bouwmeester was a quality player for a long time. Barkov has not been that good of quality long enough. It's very seldom I'll give a young player the edge over an experienced one, unless they're superstars like McDavid. Thanks for sharing your thoughts, Artturi Laine.
You need to look further back than just the last two seasons, Scott. A whole lot of good players have played in the NHL, some of them for the Jets and Sabres. When you do that, I hope you'll change your mind. Thanks for watching.
Then, Weber went silent, and is hardly talked about these days... Rinne was definitely the better pick. He won the Vezina last year, and is on pace to make a repeat. That's if Saros doesn't take it. Rinne and Saros are the best duo in hockey. Saros is tied for the most wins in the league. Rinne has one of the lowest GAA in the NHL right now.
Fleury has been a great goalie, but the Pens sucked until Crosby got there. He lifted Pittsburgh up from his 2nd season to the dominant team they are now. No question though, Pitt doesn't win the Cup without Flower. Even with Sid. No team has ever won the Cup without great goaltending. Thanks for commenting with your opinion though, Evan K.
Thank you Brett. I'm not all that good at promoting myself. I just try to make a quality video and hope the channel grows organically. Thanks for watching.

Templar Wizard did you write the Blue Jays instead of the Leafs intentionally? Pretty funny.
Yes, I guess I did. :D Thanks for letting me know!
Templar Wizard
huh?
I think Alexander Barkov was the best pick to florida panterhs
Now that future Hall of Famer Marian Hossa has retired, Alexander Barkov is well-primed to be his successor. He should win a Selke Award soon... he is that good.
He is so underrated player
Yeah I have to agree
I would have moved Jay Bouwmeester to the second category and added Aleksander Barkov there with him.
I really like Barkov, but he's only played 4 years. Too early to call him the best. But with Florida's lousy drafting history, Barkov could soon claim the top spot. Thanks for watching.
I agree but I would also add Ekblad
but you still consider nathan mackinnon who is drafted the same year,?
And MacK can't touch Barkov in terms of being a complete player.

Kucherov? Heard of him?
Playlister uhhhh 58th overall pick vs 1st overall pick
cmon man stamkos has a better record still
I think Stamkos is still a better player. Kuch is a better scorer atm but stamkos is the better player.
Kucherov has literally had 1 good year
Kind of A Beauty 30 goals is a good year too, he's only had a few years under his belt but he doesnt have any skimpy years yet and he having a very good start to this year, he is showing some very bright colors and he is still very young.
Wow no mention of Doughty?
I felt Kopitar and Quick were a step ahead of Doughty. No question Drew is a very valuable part of the Kings success, but Kopitar is the cornerstone and Quick is the reason they've won Cups. Thanks for watching, Korilla.
+TopCornerHockey doughty much better than kopitar

TopCornerHockey You know if they didn't have doughty there defense is pathetic and Quick won't be as good, anyways thanks for reading my comment
would love to see ya do a vid on the worst trades of 2000s
Jebus The gamer Nerd Definetly Subban for Weber
Uhm.. must be Filip Forsberg for Latta and Erat
2 awful Islanders trades: Mark Parrish and Oleg Kvasha for Olli Jokinen and Luongo (june 2000) or Alexei Yashin for Zdeno Chara, 2nd overall pick in 2001 (Jason Spezza) and Bill Muckalt (june 2001)

Noah Spatz because those are the only good players they have drafted in their entire franchise history.
Wtf? No Z? No Datsyuk? That's crazy, man. Also no love for Doughty?
Chara was drafted in 1996, so he's out. Datsyuk was drafted in 1998, so he's out, too. I felt Kopitar and Quick were/are on a level just above Doughty. Although I could have tossed him in because he is no question a very valuable member of the current organization. Thanks for watching, Jnmaniac1.
Zetterberg drafted 99
17:38
That isn’t rinne? The goalie is a righty and #29 if I see correctly
i suggest you keep it all in order by team names. sometimes people just want to see their own team and it all looks confusing
Most of the time I do, Harshbir. I did things a little different on this one. Thanks for your advice, though. I do appreciate constructive criticism.
Thanks, Subscribed!
Awesome, Harshbir! Thank you very much. I hope like the future content.
My changes:
Add monahan to Calgary
Doughty to la
Weber no brainer
Karlsson no brainer
Pietrangelo= ambiguous
Hedman= ambiguous
For Montreal, why did you not mention Subban?
Mark Stone (former BWK) is awesome. However, he does not have the numbers Spezza has. Thanks for commenting and watching, Parker.
Kesler haha as a canucks fan I disagree so much
Alright, Nick. As a Canucks fan, who is the best Canuck draft since 2000?
If you did 1999 it’s would be the twins.
No question. If this video looked before the turn of the century, it would impossible not to pick Hank and Dank. Thanks for watching, Chewy Gaming (awesome username!).
both Boeser and Pettersson will be fighting for that honour, but in the meantime Edler in the 3rd or Bieksa in the 5th are both great picks
@@artvandelay1967 Yah, when I first saw this video I would expect it to say Kesler, but in my opinion I'd choose Edler.
So... Matthews and McDavid are good to go after 1 and 2 years respectively but Eichel hasn't been around long enough after 2 years?
Donovan James unreal that is perfect that is such a solid point
Well, McDavid has won a Hart and Art Ross and Matthews has a 40 goal season and Calder. Eichel has none of those things. I'd say there is clear separation between them. Thanks for watching, Donovan.
TopCornerHockey but you legit said "he's played less than 2 years not enough time to call him the best ".then puts Matthews there.
Your obviously is going for stats
you deserve so many more subscribers dude. i love your videos.
Thank you so much! That really means a lot to me. I appreciate your kindness, RuthieElz.
Why was buffalo not in any of the categories until the end?
I felt Buffalo didn't have a clear choice as best pick. Vanek isn't a great pick, but he's the best pick they've made since 2000. He had 6 really good years, then disappeared. Eichel might become the best Buffalo pick, but he's only played 2 years. Thanks for watching, Greg.
What about barkov for the panthers
Do you think the Sedin twins will retire this season and do you think they should
Their contracts are up in 2018 and they're diminishing skills all suggest it's time for them to go. I really hate it when great players hang around for too long (Paul Coffey). It takes some of the shine off their crown. Thanks for watching, Kye.
Any way you could do most historic goal per NHL team?
That's a fabulous idea! I can't wait to start working on that one! Great call, 13originalgruber! Thanks for commenting and watching.
When was Zetterberg drafted
San jose Sharks fan or pavel datsyuk
1999. Datsyuk was 98. That's why neither are on this list. Thanks for watching, San Jose Sharks fan and carson steel.
I think you have to do some research on a guy named Alexander Barkov.
I would have the same advice for you, Ville. It's Aleksander Barkov. There you go, I just did it for you. You're welcome. Thanks for watching, buddy.
Aleksandr is probably the most correct, but I guess that all three variations are ok for Barkov.
Great list! New subscriber.
Also, the NHL is really getting some great young talent! League is going to be great for awhile!
Johnny Gaudreau is now ranked 3rd best in the NHL, Flames definitely won this video.
I would say Johnny Hockey needs to play at a high level for another 5 seasons to really see how good he is. No question he's having a fine start to his 17-18 year. Thanks for watching, Killary.
Hey guys its me the 2019 playoffs
Loved this video... I thought that allmost everything was spot on as well
Keep it up man.
Cool! It's rare when someone agrees with me almost 100%. Thanks for that, Brody! Thanks for watching.
I can’t believe how many people are telling me I missed on Jack Eichel. He’s played 2 years! Not enough time to call him the best.
TopCornerHockey matthews played less than him lmfaoooo, but I'm not arguing Matthews is the best
Yet u put mcdavid who has been playing for 2'years... Scrub
TopCornerHockey glad you put vanek and not eichel coming from a Sabres fan
are u comparing eichel to mcdavid? lol
why title isnt then "Best Picks Per Team 2000-2010"
Great video I subscribed.
Thanks, so much, M D P! You're awesome!
thanks 4 all the great content Kirk!
Great vid, awesome channel!
Thanks Talon! I have a nephew named Talon. I've never heard that name used before. My nephew lives in Alberta. Where are you from? Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey Thats awesome, cool to hear of other Talon's out there haha. I'm from Ontario however!
Malkin underrated. 2009 was all about Malkin
What if the Pens picked Price and the Habs picked Crosby. What team would be better??
Well, Pitt already had Fleury, so they weren't in the market for a tender. But I would say Montreal would be better. Sid has been the best player in the world since 05, so I would put my $ on whatever team got Crosby. Good question/comment, Hockey Beast. Thanks for watching.
the ducks would have grabbed him if
Oh yeah. Brian Burke could hardly contain himself when Anaheim was a finalist for the Crosby lottery. Franchise changing player. And the Ducks already had Getzlaf and Perry in the system. Having Sid and Getz as your two top centremen would have been awesome.
What is Ovie to Capitals without Bäckström...?
Only to be factual, Carey Price was the 8th goalie in NHL history to win the Hart, not the 7th! Keep up the gob job, great video as always!!
Thanks for the encouragement, Killer Manzarek.
lol you are righ buddy, I counted Hasek twice!!
You can switch the canes one and put Sebastian Aho
Scoops all 3 work
Great Job. Was interesting to watch.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching, Big Z!
TopCornerHockey Can you do the best undrafted players to play for each team
I do have a list of Top 10 Undrafted players by position. I just need to produce it. I'm not sure if every team has a good undrafted player in their history. I'd have to double check my research. If so, I can modify the video for each team. If not, then I'll just have to stick to my plan. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching.
Not Barkov or even Ekblad for Florida!?
Neither has put in the time nor has the numbers to compete with Bouwmeester's. Maybe if Barkov had 3 x 30 goal seasons already, but his career best is only 28. And maybe if Ekblad hadn't been hurt then he could have at least been a Norris finalist, but he's not even close to one so far. Thanks for watching, 101JuventusFan.
@@TopCornerHockey yeeah how about now then?
You should do the best rookie/prospects first nhl goals or best goals in thier career so far like for example sidney crosby's first shoot out goal
I love that idea, Ryan! Absolutely love it! Putting together a list of which players would be hard to narrow down. How about I take the best current goal scorers or players per franchise. Does that sound like a good idea? Otherwise I have have to consider players from all 100 years of NHL play.
Can you do the top 5 player from all the country that were in the Olympic ?
I have plans to do an all time team per country. I'm also going to project what each country would have looked like if they were going to have NHLers at the Olympics this year. That'll come out around February. Thanks for commenting and watching, Jacob.
Not sure if you’ve done or considered this before, but the best trade for every team would be super cool to see! Great channel, keep up the good work!
Thanks, Tim. Hope you like it when I put it out there. In the meantime, I hope you enjoy the other content on my channel along the way.
Thank you.
Fair enough. Thanks for the response.
Thanks for understanding, Randomizer903. Thanks for watching.
Can you do a Top 10 Backup Goalies please?
That might be hard to do. I would have to limit it to career back ups because a lot of guys start as back ups then graduate to starters. But if you want me to explore full time back ups then I can give that a go. What do you say, Dale? Thanks for watching.
Yeah. That will be good.
Cool. I'll start researching it soon. Thanks for the suggestion, Dale.
TopCornerHockey Your welcome
There was absolutely zero question about 1OA in Ovechkin's draft year. At no point was Malkin considered a threat for 1st. Dunno what you're basing that on, but Ovechkin was like McDavid in his draft year.
In Tampa, you could make an argument for 58th overall draft pick Nikita Kucherov, but I agree with your pick.
For Arizona, what about Keller
I think he might say it's still too early but I would agree.
You nailed it, Templar Wizard. 20 career NHL games is nothing. Far too soon. But Keller looks great so far, no question about that. Thanks, Kai and Templar Wizard for commenting and watching.
to problem
Is Niklas Kronwall really better than Pavel Datsyuk or Henrik Zetterberg?
Shayan Tahmorsi Both were drafted in the late 90s
Thank you for answering before I could respond, Bennet. Obviously Shayan, both Datsyuk and Zetterberg are better than Kronwall, but the could not be considered for this list because of their draft years. Thank you both for watching.
Love the show man! But seriously not even a mention of Jack Eichel in Buffalo. I get he was hurt his 2nd year but he was still a point a game player
Thank you so much Sierra. Eichel hasn't put in the time and therefore does not have the accomplishments Vanek has. If I did this again in 5 years, there is a very good chance Eichel would be the Sabres best pick since 2000.
I know you don't make vids anymore but Patty Kane is not from Manitoba. Hes a Buffalo native
@TopCornerHockey what's your favourite team
I'm keeping that close to the vest, Hockey By Andrej122. I don't want to favour any team on my channel. Although I have no problem dumping on AZ because I really do think they're the worst franchise in pro sports and they should have been moved long ago. Thanks for commenting and watching, my friend.
TopCornerHockey you're welcome!
I'm a Sens fan and I really like watching your channel
I can tell you're a Sens fan, Andrej. I went to university in Ottawa and got to see the Sens play back in the early 2000s. I hope they get their downtown rink because taking the bus out to Kanata sucks!
Ever herd of Larkin or andres athnushue
I've heard of Larkin but I don't know anyone who spells their name, "andres athnushue". Larkin has played 2 years, dude. And unless they were both 40 goal seasons, he hasn't been around long enough to really evaluate. Thanks for watching, Mass Euro.
Kronwall detroits best pick since 2000? What about Dylan Larkin, or Tomas Tatar?
Not the sedin twins for Vancouver?
at 17:38 its not pekka renne
although I am glad you picked Vanek, I am a bit surprised that you havent mentioned Ryan MIller or even Jack Eichel
You said Crosby won everything, but i don't remember him winning neither eurohockey tour nor Gagarin Cup(Best #87 ever Vadim Shipachyov have won 2)
Ah, I see what you're doing here, PK. You're being absurd to show absurdity. Nice touch. Thanks for watching.
What about Larkin? Or mantha?
Frans Nielsen? or was he in the AHL too long?
you for got r miller with buffalo
I didn't forget him, he was drafted in 1999, therefore making him ineligible for this list. Thanks for watching.
Can you do a video on the rules the nhl needs to change
As a Canucks fan, Cory Schneider is a huge snub and should be their best pick. Kes is over the hill in ANA at this point.
How the heck did you miss Drew Doughty or Dustin Brown for LA.
Lundqvist has a 7 straight seasons with 30+ wins record... Wasn't mentioned, but with the other goalies their seasons streaks with 30 wins was mentioned hmm...
speaking of lop sided trades, i often question how the league let the kessel deal go through. anyway, JVR for bouwmeester, book it!
His trade from Boston or Toronto? Everyone knew Burke paid too much for Phil. Meanwhile, the Leafs only have Kapanen left from the Pittsburgh deal if I remember correctly. They were just happy to dump the majority of Kessel's contract. Thanks for commenting, Ryan.
yes but the league isn't supposed to allow ridiculous nonsense to happen and the only guy worth the price they paid was sidney crosby.
Cliff Fletcher was a good Leafs GM in the early 90s, but a horrible intern GM in the mid 2000s.
did you completely forget about Jack Eichel for Buffalo?
Nope. I felt, because Eichel has 4 fewer seasons of 30+ goals than Vanek, that he didn't deserve to be put ahead of the big Austrian. Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey But still put his lover, auston Matthews
Right
I was hoping Kovy was going to be the top pick for the Winnipeg/Atlanta franchise- I wasn’t disappointed.
Glad you liked it. Thanks for watching.
How can you say that nick kronwall is the best draft for the red wings when there is pavel datsyuk or henrik zetterberg
thesauce 97 No, both were drafted late 90’s, rendering them ineligible for the list.
You deserve more subscribers
Thank you very much! I appreciate that. Thanks for watching, This is Oil Country!
You could pick any defenseman for Nashville and still have a good answer (Weber, Josi, Ekholm, Jones)
I could have, and none of those would be a wrong answer. But Weber is the best answer in my opinion. He's the only one mentioned above who has had success over many years. Thanks for watching, Drew.
Or you can do the top 10 best player who as the best slapshot in the 21st century and the best wristshot (2 separate catagories)
You know, Jacob, I have a Top 10 video of most lethal shooters ready to go. Let me know if you still want best slappers and wristers after seeing what I've done. So just hold on, and get back to me after you see what I've already put together. I'll post it soon. Thanks.
For Detroit one could argue for Dylan Larkin in 2014. Still small sample size, but it's obvious he's going to be a captain someday.
Far too early to suggest Larkin. Maybe in 5 years. Thanks for watching.
can you do a video of the worst picks per team since 2000
I have done the research on that. I just haven't had the time to produce it. Thanks for watching.
Kopitar n Quick for sure but what about Doughty ?
At the time, I felt Kopitar and Quick were just a little more valuable than Doughty. However, in hindsight, I probably should have added Doughty in. Thanks for watching.
Jack Eichel... You chose Mcdavid for oils but not Eichel for Buffalo?!
Huge, huge difference between them, TPCWord - Top 5 Space Videos!. McDavid has a scoring title and MVP. Eichel isn't even close to either of those lofty achievements. I'm sure you can see that sound reasoning. Thanks for watching.
Has a stars fan it is really close between Jamie and Miro but Miro was higher and is still young so this list could change over time
You should make one with late round picks i.e. Mark Stone who was drafted in the 6th round.
Rate 1st overall picks from 18-1 since 2000. MacKinnon should be around 12-13, in my opinion. Not enough to prove anything.
Cool idea! I'll do it. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching, too.
Love the show man. Eichel was atleast worthy of could go either way. He’s pretty much on par with Matthews
First of all great video.
Second of all, Karlsson should be in the first category. Spezza is great but hes not close to Karlsson.
Thanks Looch1717. I felt I had to include Spezza because he's had terrific production and no one remembers that. This along with doing it for so long, I felt made him impossible to ignore. That being said, I would choose Karlsson as the more valuable player if I had to pick one. Thanks for watching.
As a Finn I expected to see Barkov and Ristolainen mentioned, but maybe I'M just biased
Love your vids you da best
Thank you! I appreciate that. Thanks for watching.
No Laine or Eichel? I can’t take this list seriously
I think the penguins best should be fleury. He really saved the organization from relocation
This guy deserves more than 3k
Thank you Brett. I'm not all that good at promoting myself. I just try to make a quality video and hope the channel grows organically. Thanks for watching.
What about the biggest BUSTS per team since 2000?
That's a good idea, Corbin. I'll add it to my list of videos to do. Thanks for the suggestion and thanks for watching.
