Corrections...I mistakenly said Fleury's goal against Edmonton was in 1990, when it was, of course in 1991. I also said Selanne broke the rookie goal scoring record against Hextall. Teemu's goal came against Fiset. My bad.
there were atleast 5 mistakes u made on certain years of some of the plays. which was a little irritating but its such a good video that we can look past them.
Great pick for the Habs. Didnt expect it but considering the events of that game: Classic. But I would have chosen Borrows Game 7 OT goal for the Canucks. I also think Yzermans OT goal from beyond the blue line is a better pick for the Wings. But just barely Great video!
I get the milestone with bobby hull’s 51 goal but I would have to go with the game six ot winner for kaner. Only 17 cups have been won from an overtime goal since 1933 so that in itself is pretty significant. Either way great watch look forward to more vids.
For Toronto it has to be Bobby Bond scoring the overtime winning goal in game seven against Detroit in the 1964 semi final. What makes it so iconic is that he scored it with a broken leg that he sustained earlier in the game.
Both were great goals. I remember both very well. Hard to beat McCarty winning the Wings the Cup by deaking two dudes out of their pants. Thanks for watching
As a Leafs fan, I would like to add a few more to the ones you showed. For example, Dougie Gilmour's goal against St. Louis was a true classic, but Nik Borschevsky's OT winner vs Detroit in Game 7 was the one that made that game possible. If you want to go back even further to the Leafs dynasty of the 1960s, the one that fans will most likely talk about will be George Armstrong's empty-netter vs Montreal to not only clinch the last Leafs Cup win to date, but it was also the last goal of the Original 6 era. Even more famous and memorable may be Bob Baun's OT goal vs Detroit on a broken ankle in 1964 which has been regarded as one of the best playoff goals in NHL history. I would rank that goal 2nd to Barilko's as best Leafs goal of all time.
For me as a Canucks fan, it's hard to tell whether Alex Burrow's 2011 goal against Chicago, or Bure's 1994 one against Calgary was bigger for the franchise. Both teams eventually made the Cup Finals, and both dispelled demons from playing those teams in the past.
I remember both goals very well. I had go with Bure. I loved watching him play. That 94 Canucks playoff run is one of the best ever. Thanks for watching.
Good video but I'll argue w/the Blues pick. The most iconic goal in St. Louis Blues history was on May 12, 1986 when Doug Wickenheiser scored the OT game-winner in Game 6 of the Campbell Conf. Finals against the Flames. The Blues were down like 5-1 in the 3rd period & came all the way back to win and force a Game 7. It's called the "Monday Night Miracle" and since the Blues haven't won the Cup yet this game - and the goal that was scored - is THE greatest moment in Blues history.
No problem and you are right about it being hard to picking a goal for the Blues because without winning a Cup their iconic moments are few and far between lol
No problem and you are right about how hard it is picking a goal for the Blues. Because without winning a Cup yet their iconic moments are few and far between lol
No problem and you are right about how hard it is picking a goal for the Blues. Because without winning a Cup yet their iconic moments are few and far between lol
"Top Corner Hockey" is also a table Hockey game. The players wind up and slap the puck, which has curved sides.Tricky to time it but scoring on a slapper, top corner is just cool!
I feel that for the devils the most memorable should be when Adam Henrique in the 2012 Conference Finals scored in OT in game 7 against the rangers. Every devils fan knows the line "Henrique! It's over!".
Blues fan here. I've only watched Blues for about 4 years, but I think my favorite Blues playoff goal would have to be Steen's OT shorthanded goal where he stole the puck from Jonathan Quick against the Kings. Unfortunately, they didn't win that series, but I guess that's 1 that's kinda stuck with since I started watching.
Hate the Oilers being a Calgarian, but should have been Gretzky's 50th in Game 39! I agree with Lanny's goal but could also have been Steve Smith's Own Goal with Perry Berezan sitting on the bench...
The Penguins had a bunch you could have chosen. I was kinda surprised you didn't mention the Nedved 4ot goal against the Caps in '96. I was at that game. Also as a Caps fan I was thinking it had to be OVs goal that you used, OVs 500th goal, or Joel Wards game 7 ot goal against the Bruins in 2012. Somehow the Hunter goal slipped my mind
Great video as always! Loads of historical goals in there, but I think I enjoyed the beautiful goals (Lemieux, Nash, Ovechkin) more than the simply iconic ones. It got me thinking; I would love a "Best goals from the 90's" video, either a personal countdown or something by team like you did here. I feel like since the 04-05 lockout, we live in a kind of post-Ovechkin, post-Crosby era where all players have great hands and can deke like crazy (see: that Pierre-Édouard Bellemare beauty), but every time I dig into the 90's, I always end up seeing some truly outstanding goals and forgotten gems. Also, can't wait to see your playoffs predictions!
Always nice to hear from you, Etienne. I wanted to separete the iconic from the beauties (although in some cases they crossed paths). I will do a purely 90s video for sure. I feel the same way you do and the 90s greats are getting lost in time. Thanks for commenting and watching.
St Louis was one of the hardest to think of an iconic goal for. Strange to me for a team that's been around 50 years to really lack enough iconic moments to have one come to my mind right away. Most teams I had no problem thinking of one easily, but not the Blues. Thanks for watching.
For the maple leafs I would have gone with bob Braun goal on a broken leg in the1963 finals. Or George Armstrong scoring into empty net in 1967 cup clinching game.
I really wanted to say Boninos OT goal against the Caps or Kunitz in double OT to go to the finals, but hard to argue with a goal that has a statue of it outside PPG paints arena
For the Oilers I would have picked Marchants game 7 goal against Dallas in 1997. Reinvigorated the franchise that almost left Edmonton two years prior and it got me watching hockey:-)
I watched that game. It was a great series and a it was a huge goal. However, I also remember watching Klima and because it's the longest game in finals history, I gave it the edge. Thanks for watching.
For Tampa Bay, the Lecavier/Fedatenko goal was good, but if you don't mind my saying so, the OT2 goal by Martin St. Louis vs. Calgary in the same series (Game 6) is much more iconic. That goal put the Bolts into a Game 7, and eventually got Lord Stanley's cup a much needed Florida tan. ^_^
good pick for the caps best goal, personally I liked OV's goal against the Canadians where he banked the puck off the boards, gets taken down and still puts the puck away. Great vid.
I like that goal because it required much less luck. However, the sliding goal is still remembered so well after 12 years that I couldn't ignore it. Thanks for watching, Matt.
Toronto had several to choose from. Crazy how Barillko's goal still lives on in our memories even though neither of us were around to see it. Thanks for watching.
Mightve chosen either Jamie Bakers goal against detroit a year earlier than whitneys to stun the cup favourites or Joonas Donskoi’s OT winner in game 3 against Shittsburgh in the 2016 SCF
For the Quebec Nordiques i would put Dale Hunter Goal vs.the habs in 1982. Or Peter Stastny O.T winner v.s the habs in 1985 and 1987 vs.Harford and last but not least scott Young game 1 1993.
Peter Stastny Game 7 OT vs Mtl for sure! People forget was a vicious series the Battle of Quebec was in the 80s. Nice to see someone still remembers the Nords. Thanks for watching, Dylan.
Wow, you're really reaching back for that one! Good memory! Arizona was the hardest team to choose for. They simply don't have an iconic moment in their sad history so I could have used almost any goal. Thanks for watching.
How do you not pick Karlsson’s shorty goal against the Sharks. Game-winning goal that secured the Knight’s spot as the Pacific division leaders. Not to mention the fact that it was probably the nicest goal of the year.
Hi Kurt I’ve been watching some of your videos I do like a lot of them but I can’t help notice that every time you do videos about all the teams you put in a lot of effort in to each team but one The Ottawa Senators. I can clearly see you’re at Toronto fan which is fine but Please don’t say Ottawa doesn’t really have any Good goals and you can only think of Alfredson. Danny Heatley, marian hossa, martin havlat, Jason spezza. You put more effort into teams that came in after Ottawa. Don’t take this as a negative comment, I like your videos and I’m very excited to see what you gonna show from Ottawa when you do these but when I see you put no effort into it. It makes me think that you don’t care about the senators. Daniel Alfredson is our best player of all time but other players have done some spectacular things in Ottawa. So if I may ask you could you do a video on the best set up shot for each team that led to a goal? Thank you for your time
Then after the game he says, "Now I know how Steve Smith felt." Tough, tough break. Ducks still won the game 6-1 or something so I'm not sure it made a huge difference.
TopCornerHockey Still so mad at Ottawa for fucking that series up, man they had the best team for years in the early 2000’s, never took it seriously enough
Nashville was hard for me. I couldn't really think of an iconic goal for the franchise, so that's why I took the easy way out. Bummer. Thanks for watching.
Surprised you didn't have Jamie Baker's goal in Game 7 vs. the Red Wings in - I think it was '93 for the Sharks? They were the 8-seed that year and had no business winning that series, but I think that was the first time they had ever won a playoff series in franchise history. I could be wrong and I probably am, but I thought I'd throw that out there. Oh, and I'm a Wings fan as well, and I was hoping that you'd have selected McCarty's goal in '97.
It's crazy how many people suggest that. It's both valid and sad that a franchise as old as the Coyotes doesn't have a more iconic goal. Thanks for watching.
There are 6 teams that I think scored more iconic goals than that: Detroit: McCarty's cup winner in '97 was the bigger goal, but in terms of "iconic", none are better than Steve Yzerman's double OT winner against the Blues in '96. That celebration was AMAZING! Edmonton: NO! Gretzky's 50th goal in his 39th game in '82! L.A.: The Miracle on Manchester was the most iconic GAME in Kings history, but in terms of the most iconic GOAL, you HAVE to go with Gretzky's goal number 802 in '94! Montreal: This team has so many iconic goals that it's impossible to pick just one, so here are some others to go along with Desjardins: Henri Richard's '71 cup winning goal, Rocket Richard's 500th goal (first player to ever do so), and his 50th goal in a season (also the first player to ever do so). NY Islanders: You've gotta be kidding me! What about Mike Bossy's 50-in-50 in '81? Only the second player to ever do that! St. Louis: That choice pales in comparison to Doug Wick's OT winner in '86 over the Flames, capping off a 3-goal comeback win! It wasn't called the Monday Night Miracle for nothing!
Lots of teams had different choices. Some more than others. It's fun to discuss the possibilities. I'm glad to see you have a good memory. All the goals you mentioned are very iconic. Thanks for watching.
Good video but the Capitals have a new most iconic goal and that is Kuznetsovs goal against the Penguins to send the Caps to the eastern conference finals.
You're probably right about Smith's ASG goal. I didn't want to break my own rule about first goals, even if Neal's goal IS the most iconic in VGK's short history. Thanks for watching.
Ya missed it for Vegas: 1. Karlsson's 3rd goal against Toronto on New Years Eve, or 2. S Theodore's winning goal against Tampa Bay with 2.3 seconds left.......
Good lists and footage, but for me the best Jets goal by far (currently perhaps wink!), even more so than Teemu's, is Dave Ellett's double overtime winner in 1990 against the Oilers. At one point there was hope they were going to finally eliminate that god dang franchise for once in the playoffs, but we alas we all know the story...
Nothing more iconic than a Stanley Cup winning goal. I watched Arnott score that goal and there was never any question in my mind about the Devils pick for this video. Thanks for watching.
Corrections...I mistakenly said Fleury's goal against Edmonton was in 1990, when it was, of course in 1991. I also said Selanne broke the rookie goal scoring record against Hextall. Teemu's goal came against Fiset. My bad.
TopCornerHockey I would have picked Smith’s goal as Arizona’s. Just because
That's some good, outside the box thinking! I agree! Good call. Thanks for watching, Phil.
yo mike smiths goal for coyotes
I had the Pens Petr Nedveds triple OT winner against the Caps
there were atleast 5 mistakes u made on certain years of some of the plays. which was a little irritating but its such a good video that we can look past them.
1:57 u took that line directly off rock em sock em 2 lol. good vid
I often rip off from Grape's videos. I have them all. Thanks for watching.
Thanks for the great videos!
Glad you hear you like them, Christopher. Thanks for watching, buddy.
awesome video!!
I love your vids!! You should have a lot more subscribers!!!
Thank you. I appreciate that.
I was gonna guess yzermans OT goal for the wings.
Borechevsky's OT goal vs Detroit was pretty sweet. Bob Cole's call "This has been an unbelievable turn of events!".
Very iconic moment. I recently read Doug Gilmour's book. I can tell you he was a lot more fun to watch than he was to read about. Thanks for watching.
Great pick for the Habs. Didnt expect it but considering the events of that game: Classic.
But I would have chosen Borrows Game 7 OT goal for the Canucks.
I also think Yzermans OT goal from beyond the blue line is a better pick for the Wings. But just barely

Was expecting Stevie Y’s slapper against St. Louis! But McCarty’s was a beauty! Good times!
Both were great goals. I remember both very well. Hard to beat McCarty winning the Wings the Cup by deaking two dudes out of their pants. Thanks for watching

Lanny was in 1978
Hate the Oilers being a Calgarian, but should have been Gretzky's 50th in Game 39! I agree with Lanny's goal but could also have been Steve Smith's Own Goal with Perry Berezan sitting on the bench...
St. Louis Blues-Doug Wickenheiser-5/12/1986-vs. Calgary-the "Monday Night Miracle"
Hang a flyers jersey up in the background!
Great video loved your picks can't get much better than that
Glad you liked it! Thanks for watching.
Nice idea and fun to watch! But I keep wonder why you never ever blink in your videos...?
Haha! Lots of people have said the same thing. I'm glad you enjoyed the video.
The Penguins had a bunch you could have chosen. I was kinda surprised you didn't mention the Nedved 4ot goal against the Caps in '96. I was at that game. I would have picked Foligno's OT winner against the Pens in 2014, but good video nonetheless!
Glad you liked it. Columbus was a tough pick. Thanks for watching.
Mike Smith empty net should've been the most iconic Coyotes goal without a doubt.
"OFF THE FLOOR...ON THE BOARD PAUL KARIYA!"
Great video as always! Loads of historical goals in there, but I think I enjoyed the beautiful goals (Lemieux, Nash, Ovechkin) more than the simply iconic ones.

For Arizona I would pick Mike Smith's goalie goal
Arizona was brutal to choose for, so you're probably right. I should have used Smith's goal against Detroit. Thanks for watching.
For the S.t.Louis Blues I would put Monday night miracle V.S the flames in 1986. And also Brett Hull 86 goal season
St Louis was one of the hardest to think of an iconic goal for. Strange to me for a team that's been around 50 years to really lack enough iconic moments to have one come to my mind right away. Most teams I had no problem thinking of one easily, but not the Blues. Thanks for watching.
Darius Kasparatis 4OT goal for the pens is very iconic also
I love your shirt!!!!!!!!
For the maple leafs I would have gone with bob Braun goal on a broken leg in the1963 finals.
Or George Armstrong scoring into empty net in 1967 cup clinching game.
As soon as I saw the title I knew Kariya would be the Ducks entry
I really wanted to say Boninos OT goal against the Caps or Kunitz in double OT to go to the finals, but hard to argue with a goal that has a statue of it outside PPG paints arena
You’re telling me mike smiths goal wasn’t the most iconic. That shit was beautiful
karlsson saucer pass to hoffman against bruins 2017 playoffs best ottawa goal ever
I remember the Ovie behind-the-back goal like it was yesterday...haha...saw it live and couldn't believe my eyes!
Simply unforgettable. And I really feel it'll never get duplicated. Thanks for watching.
OFF THE FLOOR AND ON THE BOARD!!
What’s that Kings jersey in the background from??
For Tampa Bay, the Lecavier/Fedatenko goal was good, but if you don't mind my saying so, the OT2 goal by Martin St. Louis vs. Calgary in the same series (Game 6) is much more iconic. That goal put the Bolts into a Game 7, and eventually got Lord Stanley's cup a much needed Florida tan. ^_^
I certainly considered that goal when making this list. That 04 Lightning team created a lot of iconic moments. Thanks for watching.
I saw that Bellemare goal at the Bell Center in person it was nasty.
good pick for the caps best goal, personally I liked OV's goal against the Canadians where he banked the puck off the boards, gets taken down and still puts the puck away. Great vid.
I like that goal because it required much less luck. However, the sliding goal is still remembered so well after 12 years that I couldn't ignore it. Thanks for watching, Matt.
I was proud when I guessed the Leafs' most iconic goal was Bill Barilko's cup-winning goal for some reason lol
Toronto had several to choose from. Crazy how Barillko's goal still lives on in our memories even though neither of us were around to see it. Thanks for watching.
Bob Cole "Oh Baby!"
Mightve chosen either Jamie Bakers goal against detroit a year earlier than whitneys to stun the cup favourites or Joonas Donskoi’s OT winner in game 3 against Shittsburgh in the 2016 SCF
you should put some music in the back that would be nice
Edmonton's most iconic goal I think was mcdavid's goal against Columbus or ales hemsky's goal against Dallas after Stefan missed the empty net
Longest game in Stanley Cup Finals history is pretty memorable and very iconic. Thanks for commenting and watching, Alex.
Also for Vegas you should’ve done the karlsson between the leg goal on san jose
For Nashville you should’ve used fisher’s triple OT goal in game 4 second round 2016
Nashville was a tough call. Nothing really came to mind. Thanks for watching.
I think the best goal for minnesota is when Mikael Granlund saw the puck in the middle of the air and smacked it out of the air to score
I remember Spurgeon doing that, but I remember Granlund doing it. For me, the Wild's most iconic goal is absolutely Brunette. Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey it was a good video
havent watched the video yet but my for my blackhawks its gonna be kaners 2012 goal to win the cup
well rip
The Tampa bay lightning iconic goal should have been kucherov‘ snow move goal. Your choice was also good
I was expecting Burrows’ series winning slapper in 2011 for Vancouver.
For the Canucks you could of added in Alex Burrows slapshot in game 7 of round 1 2011 im pretty sure against the Blackhawks
Montreal’s goal should’ve been the one from Maurice Richard. Everyone should remember that one
Thanks for watching, Dylan.
sooooooooooooooooooo about that sweep
Should have done Kris kolanos penalty shot against Patrick Roy for phoenix
Wow, you're really reaching back for that one! Good memory! Arizona was the hardest team to choose for. They simply don't have an iconic moment in their sad history so I could have used almost any goal. Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey I remember that goal as a kid. Patrick Roy getting thrown out. Great goal.
How do you not pick Karlsson’s shorty goal against the Sharks. Game-winning goal that secured the Knight’s spot as the Pacific division leaders. Not to mention the fact that it was probably the nicest goal of the year.
I made this video before that goal was scored. Thank's for watching.
TopCornerHockey Haha all good man. Still a great video.
Glad you liked it.
You have to do a goalie saves, that would be a hell of a job!!! You would have 2 hours of great saves!!!
Hi Kurt I’ve been watching some of your videos I do like a lot of them but I can’t help notice that every time you do videos about all the teams you put in a lot of effort in to each team but one The Ottawa Senators. So if I may ask you could you do a video on the best set up shot for each team that led to a goal? Thank you for your time
steven charbonneau Great idea. And thanks so much for watching!
TopCornerHockey
Thank you Very much I appreciate it
And Detroit should have yzerman’s clapper from center ice
Now ya gotta change the Vegas one to the Division clinching goal by Wild Bill
The end sounds like your doing a school assignment
Arizona should have been Mike Smiths buzzer beater
Hornqvist goal on Rinne should be here in a way as a pens fan if it didn't lead to a cup it didn't matter
Omg Phillips own goal lol
Then after the game he says, "Now I know how Steve Smith felt." Tough, tough break. Ducks still won the game 6-1 or something so I'm not sure it made a huge difference.
TopCornerHockey Still so mad at Ottawa for fucking that series up, man they had the best team for years in the early 2000’s, never took it seriously enough
For Detroit I would of said the game 7 slapshot goal against stl
I think Fisher's 3OT goal against San Jose would've been better for Nashville. Personal opinion, that's all
Nashville was hard for me. I couldn't really think of an iconic goal for the franchise, so that's why I took the easy way out. Bummer. Thanks for watching.
Great video, but if you don't think Burrows OT goal to slay the dragon is the most iconic goal in Vancouver history you're just wrong
For the Nashville one I just gotta say
I’m a pens fan :(
for the oilers I would have picked kurri or gretszky or even messier
Which goals were you thinking of? Thanks for watching.
Joonas Donskoi’s ot goal in game 3 vs Pittsburgh?
Razor's goal completed a huge upset. There really wasn't ever any question in my mind about the Sharks goal for this list. Thanks for watching.
Should’ve put Smith’s goal for Coyotes
Surprised you didn't have Jamie Baker's goal in Game 7 vs. the Red Wings in - I think it was '93 for the Sharks? They were the 8-seed that year and had no business winning that series, but I think that was the first time they had ever won a playoff series in franchise history. I could be wrong and I probably am, but I thought I'd throw that out there. Oh, and I'm a Wings fan as well, and I was hoping that you'd have selected McCarty's goal in '97.
Ok video but for Ottawa you should’ve put karlsson’s 114 foot saucer pass to Hoffman to finish it off with a peter forsberg
While Mario's goal was epic, I'd go for Jagr's goal against Chicago, on their way to their 2nd cup.
Both are quality choices. Thanks for watching.
Most iconic goal for the coyotes is Mike Smith’s goal
It's crazy how many people suggest that. It's both valid and sad that a franchise as old as the Coyotes doesn't have a more iconic goal. Thanks for watching.
TopCornerHockey Welcome really good quality continue your good work👌😉
Columbus’ should’ve been the 2014 playoffs game 4 vs the penguins in overtime
I've had a couple other guys suggest that. Columbus was a hard team to find an iconic moment for. Thanks for watching.
There are 6 teams that I think scored more iconic goals than that:
Detroit: McCarty's cup winner in '97 was the bigger goal, but in terms of "iconic", none are better than Steve Yzerman's double OT winner against the Blues in '96.
There is no way that my Blackhawks didn’t have Kane’s goal in 2013 to advance to the cup
Seattle is having a new team
Arizona should have been the Mike Smith goal
so we just gonna ignore burrows slaying the dragon then
Martin Brodeur 2nd goal should have been the Devils best franchise goal or maybe his 1st.
I'm sorry, but Stevie-Y's goal against St Louis in 96 is easily more iconic than McCarty's goal
Good video but the Capitals have a new most iconic goal and that is Kuznetsovs goal against the Penguins to send the Caps to the eastern conference finals.
Honestly the coyotes should’ve been mike smiths asg goal and Vegas shouldve been the first goal in the franchise that neal scored
Although Krupp's blue line Cup winning goal was historic, there are better Colorado Avalanche Epic Goals to choose from.
Well, I think Washington might have a new one.
Good lists and footage, but for me the best Jets goal by far (currently perhaps wink!), even more so than Teemu's, is Dave Ellett's double overtime winner in 1990 against the Oilers. At one point there was hope they were going to finally eliminate that god dang franchise for once in the playoffs, but we alas we all know the story...
good list but I would say henriques o.t. winner against the rangers in the 2012 playoffs was better.
Hard to beat a Cup winning goal scored in OT. I remember that goal so well that I felt it was impossible to overlook it. Thanks for watching.
Blues most iconic goal was definitely Doug Wickenheiser's OT winner in 1986, but Turgeon's OT winner was a good choice as well!
People remember riot #1 fondly?
They playoff run, yes. The riot that happened after, probably not so much. That was a miracle run in 94. Thanks for watching, Sean.
Not down to watch the whole vid anyone want to tell me where the islanders goal is? Thx
Devils shuld have been the 2012 devs rangers playoffs Henriques goal with Henrique it’s over
Nothing more iconic than a Stanley Cup winning goal. I watched Arnott score that goal and there was never any question in my mind about the Devils pick for this video. Thanks for watching.
