Thanks for the great demonstration. One of those came with my sewing machine and I thought it was for sewing buttons on the machine. Hemming jeans is a nightmare without one of these clever gizmos so I am very glad I found your video. Thank you again.
I'm just starting out on my sewing journey and was Googling all the part numbers of the bits I'd been given and found your video, thank you for sharing.
(Hubby's face but I do the sewing) so many thanks for this clear video - I had a hump jumper and never knew what todo with it so just struggled with loop and long stitches and basically just accepted the not quite right result so many thanks- excited to do a neater job now.
hello from beautiful Florida, wow...I never would of guessed that is what that was for heard in a video tutorial and was curious what it did, now I am ordering one...thank you for an awesome video.
This tutorial made me realise that the hump jumper thing is something to have nearby almost all the time I'm sewing fabrics of any thickness, rather than hidden away somewhere for the emergency of coming to a standstill with a thick seam. Really clearly explained and demonstrated, just so helpful, thank you.
I have the jean-a-majig somewhere in my notions but forgot all about it! It is indeed a helpful tool that I could have been using when making purses, straps, etc. I'm grateful you posted this video with clear instructions!
Ok this is life changing for me Diane....I watched the demo and went to the fabric store the next day and bought one. I love this thing, thanks Diane !!!
Thank you my machine came with one but I had no idea how to use it like that. It has a hole for holding the needle when changing. this is a game changer for my sewing. Again thanks for all the great videos
Thanks Diane! This was so helpful! I didn’t know exactly how to use it and I have struggled with adjusting thicknesses and ended up having skipped stitches that were so frustrating! I just love your videos! ❤️🧵✂️
Thank you so much for the clear explanation! I’ve been trying to use my hump jumper but I think I’ve been starting too late or I stop using it before my presser foot is all the way flat again.
A link to buy one of these in the United States would be awesome please. I am not having any luck with Mr. Gogglepants and the link you provided another subscriber was for the UK. 💕 I did just find one by putting in different search words. Here is the link for one in the United States www.amazon.com/Hemline-Bulky-Seam-Aid/dp/B07G1JYD7Z Thank you so much for making this video ❤️
@@DesignsByRareBeauty I found mine on Amazon. Specifically this one: HONEYSEW BUTTON CLEARANCE PLATE FOR HUSQVARNA VIKING SEWING MACHINE #4131056-01 www.amazon.com/dp/B01JNYX9M4/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_apa_i_5F3oCb1A7EE4W
This is FANTASTIC!. I have never heard of the "hump jumper tool" for sewing!. What a super gadget!. Thank you for demonstrating.. Off to find where I can purchase.. ❤️
As far as I am aware all Janome sewing machines have a built-in 'hump jumper'! It's the A foot with the black button on it. The button locks the foot in the horizontal position for sewing over thick seams. It works every time for me.
Ha, ha. Never seen one of these, but boy oh boy; I have had that problem often. Pain the the .. Must find one here. Thanks for the video. Greatly appreciated.
Thank you Diane! It seems I was only using the “Hump Jumper” in front of the presser foot and not initially from behind. I see now that using this tool in both directions will help me to control my stitches better when tackling the change in thickness.
Thank you for sharing this, I had one for years as it came with my machine, it has a tiny hole in the corner to put a new needle in the machine but the rest of it is like yours. I will now be using it a lot more thanks to your video.😀
Great. Have not tried one but have a serious problem when closing the edges of zippered pouches and coming up to the zipper tab end when half of the presser foot is on the fabric and one half on the zipper tab. Always gets jammed.
Thank you! I have one of these (sort of) that came with my machine. It has 2 sides, but they are the same thickness and 1 side is 2 pronged and open and the other side is closed. I am assuming the closed half goes behind the presser foot and the open half goes in front of it. But I had no idea how to use it.
Thank you so much for your explanation on the hump jumper. I was wondering if I could use it on my coverstitch machine. I am getting skipped stitches over bulky seams and thought maybe this could help 🤞🏼
My hump jumper arrived today. I quickly tried it out on my coverstitch machine. It works brilliantly on my hems that I was having so much trouble with going over bulky seams and continuously getting skipped stitches. I was about to pull my hair out until I ran across your video and thought I’d give it a shot. I can now proceed with the completion of my garment 😊 Thank you so much for your help
I honestly dont know - measure the distance between your 3 needles - the gap in my hump jumper measures just short of 1cm (3/8") on one side but I would think every one is different

Thats absolutely right. They do make a few different shapes and sizes xoxo
Very clear video demonstration. Now I want one! Where can I buy a hump jumper in England?
This is fantastic! What a great tip!
Thank you so much for your explanation on the hump jumper. I was wondering if I could use it on my coverstitch machine. I am getting skipped stitches over bulky seams and thought maybe this could help 🤞🏼
I honestly don't know, I don't have a cover stitch machine, why not give it a try on a scrap of fabric

Thanks Stacy, luckily I'd just had them done!

Genius!! I have one, but had no idea what it was for---I made my own “hump jumper” out of several layers of fabric... 😜
It's a life saver !
Holy mackerel. I never knew what that was for.
Hello, is this wide enough for a 3 needle as I need one for that but have been looking and nobody says how wide it is. Thank you
I honestly dont know - measure the distance between your 3 needles - the gap in my hump jumper measures just short of 1cm (3/8") on one side but I would think every one is different
