Hello, I’m an English teacher in Worcester South Africa and I’m teaching Brazilian students to speak English and they are doing very well. Thank you Annamari
I'm Mahinda Siriwardena from Sri Lanka. I have watched your videos on and off and have liked them as much as I have learnt from them. This lesson should be useful to many learners of English as a second language.
-I dread going to the dentist. -He hopes to become an English teacher. -I decided to stay in tonight. -She finished doing her homework. -They promised to help with the project. -We love studying / to study English. The meaning is the same. -I hate watching / to watch horror films. No change. -I forgot setting / to set the timer. There’s a change. Thank you for this useful class!! ❤❤
Hello! I’m from Puerto Rico. 1) She agrees to make a cake to her family. 2) I dread entering into the elevator. I understood all exercises. I enjoyed watching this interesting video because I love studying grammar. You’re an excellent teacher, you explain very well. I encourage you to continue teaching us to improve the English language. Gby
Coincidently, i watched this lesson on weekend 😃. As you said, i practice English as much as i can and i hope to improve my English little by little. I really like watching your videos and decide to learn more and more. Thanks so much, Mr. Wes.
@@InteractiveEngI think it is more correct to say: More power to your elbow than what @bukariharuna said. Correct me if I am wrong. Thanks for the education though.
I learned it this way. Let's say if we have two verbs, we always use "to" between them; for example, "it's nice to meet you (to be + to + meet)", "You're to go to bed now", "It doesn't hurt to review old grammar", etc. I know know I overly simplify it (there are some exceptions like modal verbs, etc.) :D, but it works in general, so we just need to learn verbs with gerunds and a few exceptions. Thank you for your lesson :)
Great job bro...keep it up... the most interesting thing i fond out in your teaching style is the way you explain things very clearly by giving practical examples.
I used to hate grammar and dread studying it but i know it's important if i want to become fluent.. and figured out your videos has been refreshing and now grammar is not as boring as before 😊😅
How lucky i am, correct 100% with gerund and infinitive question. Pieces of cake to me to answer your question. Really happy i was watching this video till end.
Especially in German. The sentence structure is really important for nouns. I tell you though: I never thought a noun could become my enemy until I started taking German. They change in every Case, which I had to learn before I could get into beginner's German. I went my whole life knowing English without being aware of the Nominative, Accusative, Dative & Genitive cases.
But thank God all gerunds in German have das as the form: das Lesen (reading) das Arbeiten (working) etc. So you don't have to figure out if it's der? die? or das?
I think it is a strength of English not to be taught with the Nominative, Genitive, Dative, & Accusative cases. Of course, the bad news is that nobody will be able to give us the correct definition of Nominative, Genitive, & Dative. Also, the morphology mechanism of the plural form is an integral part of the case system. So, we actually have to derive the relationships ourselves. Then, we will be able to realize that given any root word, we can just turn it into a noun, adjective, adverb, or verb, with its P-components of gender, number, and case. To iterate, our strength is that we know that the case does not inherently define the meaning. Example: the word fast can be a noun, an adjective, adverb, and verb. So, we can say "For yesterday fast fast, I fasted fastly". Another word would be "present' with its different pronunciations: noun present (gift), verb present (to show), adjective-adverb present (now), adjective present (pronounced as pre-sent, meaning to-sent-beforehand). So, we can say "For the present pre-sent present, I present presently the options."
What’s up West, 🤠. I was studying gerund and infinitive the day before, and ended with a big headache. But watching your lesson today, I kind of have an idea how to work. If like you say, try to memorize and practice, practice and practice. Thanks and have a great weekend.
Geruunds: I will avoid talking to him. Phillips considers speaking with the doctor. I have quit following his decisions. I feel like dancing now. I miss meeting with Rex in class. Infinitives: I agree to respect his decision. I hope to meet the teacher.
Gerunds : I Avoid eating fast-foods I Dread watching that horror film I Consider writiing my notes in notebook. I Enjoy learning new languages. I Finish doing home work. I have a question if you could answer i'll appreciate that, in 15:00 minute of the video about verbs that if we use gerunds or infinitive the meaning will be change. The tense of the verb of the first sentence is simple present, so why the meaning is like talking about memories?
That was really the informative video. Thanks a lot. Have learned a lot through your channel. You explain each and every thing meticulously. Looking forward to more live sessions.Unfortunately I missed this one.
Thanks for commenting! We're glad you found the lesson useful. And keep practicing. Gerunds and infinitives can be confusing at times. Also, we'll do another live-lesson this Saturday, probably around 3-4pm GMT+2. Hope you can make it! 😃

I wish I had quit smoking. I'm going to postpone going to the doctor. That's what I would recommend doing in order to become a better student. I agreed to eat my dinner. He will choose to skip the question. I've already decided to go to the cinema by myself. She doesn't deserve to win. I wouldn't expect anything to happen. She hoped to see him when she was back. We had learned to write braille before going completely blind. I plan to do some research beforehand. She promised to study hard. I want to get the information first.
