Hi Teacher!
The word deck is also used to refer a surface in a ship or boat. To sum up, the word deck has 2 meanings : 1) for gambling (set of cards) and 2) a structure or part of boat.

"I'll roll the dice once more, and I'd eat this if I lose again!"He tossed the deck of cards onto the table."
"Okay, guys, I'll go double or nothing!" he exclaimed.
"He doubled down when the two cards captured attention."
"Did you hit the jackpot for real, or are you bluffing me?"
"Now what I want you to know is that I'm just hedging my bets."
"His victory is in the cards, right?" she asked.
"It was the time to put his cards on the table, so he let her in on the murder's intention."
"All bets are off whether he's guilty or we caught the wrong one."
"I think love is the luck of the draw, isn't it?"
"You're so silly; I have an ace up my sleeve!"
"I anticipate they will stack the deck as always!"
Thank you so much wes!

Here's a couple of questions to all the viewers here who were born and raised in the US, if I may …
I'm a Russian guy who is planning on taking a month-long vacation trip to the US for the first time ...
My American buddies invited me over and told me that they could offer me a rent-free place to stay in a suburb of San Diego, California, and in downtown Austin, Texas ...
Being on a tight budget, I would be able to visit only one of those states ...
Which of them do you think I should choose and why?
My main interests are practicing my American English with native speakers, visiting natural wonders and meeting single women searching for a life partner.
I sure hope that American women are as nice, caring and family oriented as they are portrayed in all those Hallmark movies.
Also, my friends suggested that I learn to use some US slang or I won’t be able to communicate with the local residents on a proper level but I’m not sure if it’s worth the effort …
Won’t Americans be trying to express their thoughts in plain English seeing that they are dealing with a foreigner?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated ...
* Moscow, Russia
Hi bud, Americans are nice but becoming less nice every day. There are good and bad parts of both your country and America. It seems like you want to marry an American woman. American women may barely be better than Russian women, depending on so many factors. If you're Jewish you'll love it here. Americans are probably nicer than Russians. If you want to see Indians, go to Austin. If you want to see Mexicans, go to San Diego. Hallmark movies show a world only the 0.01% of wealthy people inhabit, and even then they get divorced. Natural wonders are great at both places. It will be hot. Sad and kind of cute at the same time to see people still glamorize American culture, although America has plenty of people who aren't as well informed as you who instead glamorize Russia.
- No need for slang
- Go to San Diego if you like the ocean. Prices are lower in Mexico, right next door. Ask your friend if it's safe.
- Go to Austin if you want the non-California experience.
- Texas is also very different from the rest of the country. New England, the Midwest, the Pacific Northwest, the Prairie, Florida and Louisiana, the South.

Here's my video idea - explain why the /æ/ vowel changes when it's next to "n, m, and ng" as in "and, can, anger." Interestingly, British often pronounce the /æ/ differently in the aforesaid context.

I'm not a gamer, but recently I've been collecting slang from around the world. Blame it on the film Arrival, hahahahaha.🧀♟
