Probably one of the most useful “tricks” for vocals I have come across. Excellent!
Thanks ever so much
@@Producelikeapro is there a way of doing this with one click? As in is there a way of making this so all you have to do is drag and drop on the vocal track and it is done? Thanks! This was an amazing way of adding thickness to the vocals!
i feel like this single trick took me from amateur to intermediate. thank you so much
Hi Friends, Produce Like A Pro Academy Member David Mood was kind enough to show how to do my vocal thickening trick in Studio One! I know many of you are using Studio One and I've heard lots of great things about it, but my experience is limited so it is great to have David to help out! I hope you enjoy the video and please leave lots of comments! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
you are a great guy I'm getting lots of top tips thanks andy Northampton uk
Produce Like A Pro hey Warren when I was doing the pitch shifting , and entering the -3 values for the tune , they keep repeating for the the other vox tracks and won't apply to them individually..what shud I fix?
Yo, that was great!! Much love to y'all and great thanks to David Mood, as well! This was very helpful!
Produce Like A Pro i tried this method. Somehow the vocal sounds very treble and not natural like how you demo. How should I fix the problem ?
This has helped me so so much to improve on my missing skills.
I would like to learn how to add a delay that stand out on just a small section of my vocal track or at the end of each verse and chorus
Late to the party on this one... just applied this to one of my mixes and had my mind truly blown. Thank you so much!
Thanks ever so much
awesome i am new but i love this presonus community! great effect! thank you much!
Super cool. Used this exact process on a recent vocal and the results were phenomenal! Thank you so much for sharing!
Thanks for producing this vid for Studio One users. I've subscribed.
Thank you so much for this video this is just what I needed 😊
Really appreciate that you added this video on how to do the effect specifically in Studio One. Thank you so much, David and thank you so much, Warren. Cheers gents!! Benjamin
I started with Studio one, the moment i saw all the features that have been integrated and the reviews it got, i was sold.
This was just what I needed. Can't wait to try it! A HUGE thank you !
Thank you so much for sharing! I can't wait to try it in the upcoming editings!
Haven't seen an as straight forward and easy to follow effective vocal mixing video like this before, my confidence in my music production has shot up immensely, thank you for the awesome tips!
This was amazing. I just used it on an EDM Pop track and the vocals really cut through and sat nicely in the mix.
Such a simple but effective trick.. thank you for doing this!
Wow, what a helpful and great sounding edit suggestion - many thanks David!!!!
Studio One is making a huge diference in my workflow. It is much more creative has a fast think and act and sounds very good. I went to it from cubase and sonar, and it just have been great. I also watch people working with pro tools and have aways the feeling they are very slow to build their stuffs on the mix process. And it does not seem to be working fast and with no bugs as studio one does. They are doing very well, from a multi DAW user perspective. I'm a composer, producer and mix engineer, someone who spend the holle week studing and working with music and audio from the last 4 years. I'm a huge fan of the work presonus is doing, and this is not a paid propaganda, I'm not having monney on my pocket from these words.
Hi Alwin, thanks for sharing your insight! I've been amazing things about Studio One! I respect your opinion, thank you for letting us know! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
+Produce Like A Pro, Your Chanel is amazing! The truth about DAWs is just that nothing better than knowledge, feel well at work and having the straightforward will to review ourselfs and our artistc aproach to something all the time meeting the deadlines!
So is not about the DAW!! :)
Hi Alwin, so glad you enjoy the channel!! Agreed creativity is king!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Love Studio one, so many problem with ProTools, not one with studio one............
This was a great video! THANKS for sharing. I already experimented with doubling tracks and delay. But the pitch shift was a whole new thing for me. Awesome !
Thank you Michael, glad you found it helfpul! David
David, you’re my hero bro! Thanks a thousand times. I’m very new to this home studio stuff. Trying to learn as much as I can as quickly as possible. Thanks again!
Such an awesome and useful tutorial!
Thanks so much...
What a huge difference this makes.
It doesn't matter how much you think you know about Studio One, there is always something to learn or be reminded of. For me this time it was assigning the folder to the BUS. Great presentation very nicely presented. Glad to see you are maintaining Warren's high standards, thanks! Nice song as well :-) 43 thumbs downers don't know how to use a computer, let alone record with it. As with the demonstration song, this works beautifully with a very close intimate voice.
Very happy to hear and see David on this channel, hope to see more of Studio One based workflows. This was a great tutorial indeed!
Hi +Ivan Pesut Definitely will do more Studio One based videos for everyone! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
+Ivan Pesut Hi Ivan, many thanks, glad you liked it! Cheers, David
@@davidmood5161 what is your e-mail address? Whats the best way to contact you?

Hi +Sam Nook Aw shucks that's extremely marvellous of you!! Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
+Sam Nook Have a marvellous Thank You! :) David
+David Mood I just setup my microphone, with a tube MP preamp attach to an audiobox iTwo which connect to my laptop....I had 2 questions... 1- When I record I can still hear my voice in my headphones, how do I change the settings so I can record without hearing my feedback from the mic? 2- When I record my monitors (Yamaha 5inch) still playback while it's recording so the microphone still picks up the beat...how can I make it to where the playback is only in the headphones when I'm recording? Thank you for your time!
@@ZacharyWVick it’s been 4 years so i bet you figured it out already lol. Just in case you didn’t tho there is a blue button right beside the record button next to your track you are using. You need to click that blue button and it will turn off the voice in your headset.
For the record-I just spent several hours re-doing a few songs with this method. What a difference!! Thank you again!! The songs actually sound more full, robust..whatever you want to call it. But this just gave my vocals a certain fullness and punch. Now, please do one on Impact XT and how do do drums. (My weak link). Thanks again. Hope you are well.
Wow! Thanks ever so much for sharing! That's marvellous
Fantastic! Thanks for the studio 1 specific version!
David, thank you for doing this! Amazing!
Thank you very much for the tip. I was just wondering though, my "background" vocals have a very phaserish sound and I'm using Ableton. I'm using the algorithm called "complex" which makes it sound quite naturally. Is this phasey sound normal and should I just turn the volume down or can this be avoided?
Try flipping the phase. But use your ears in the full mix to judge what sounds better,
Hi, Thanks for the video! I've got a question. I'm using S1 Pro ver1. I'm having trouble setting the cents for each track. I'll got to the first track and set 3 and all the otyhers will then become 3. When I go to the second and set it at -3, this changes all the others (including the first track). Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong? Thanks!
Hi Andy, that's a great question! Let's see if we can get David to answer? David? Have a marvellous time recording and mixing, many thanks Warren
Hi Andy, do you still have that problem? My guess is that you had several tracks or events selected. Make sure to select just the single event on the track that you'd like to manipulate. Hope that helps, David
@@davidmood5161 hey there! i have the same problem, cant figure it out, from buenos aires my greetings!!!
Fabulous, thank you! Very straight forward, easy to follow.
Thanks a lot, David! Super well explained.
