You’re the one I really wish you had a mixing course. I’d buy it in a sec!
I've watched a few videos on Compression before, and this really is right up there in terms of its clarity and its precision. Mike is also very comprehensive and goes though all of the functional elements in turn, including some advanced topics like side-chain compression. Thank-you so much for your high quality content. I always look forward to the next one! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Been using S1 for a while now and this it’s the best explanation of the S1 compressor and compression I have seen. Brilliant job🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Cheers Gareth, much appreciated.
I just found this channel, this is great! It is perfect as I decided Studio One to be my default DAW
One of the best, and thorough explanations of how to use the compressor I seen. Kudos to you!
Best explanation of compression I've heard so far...thanks Mike!
Wish my Algebra professor employed your style of explanation and thoughtfulness. But then again...who really likes algebra! Of course poindexter will definitely comment about it-hence, proving my point.
As always Mike, your explanations are clear, concise and factual. Your cheerful demeanor is a welcome addition to these tutorials. I'm sure we probably don't grasp how much work goes into these videos, but we certainly appreciate the result!
Thanks Daniel, I appreciate that. The 'work' is mostly me losing the ability to speak basic English, and having to repeat things 20 times. For example, it took me nearly 3 hours to record the section on ratio, because I stumbled over words or was not happy with the way I explained it! Actually it's incompetence!
THIS GUY MAKES LEARNING EASY
Thank you for helping a lot of newcomers who are beginning this part of their musical journey 😊 I’m relatively new myself (started in 2020 during lockdown) but definitely appreciate your videos here and on Creative Sauce 😊
My pleasure - I love making these videos!
All these videos are precious to me and, hopefully, to other producers.
absolutely masterful explanation!
If i only had someone explaining to me the compressor in S1 since 2014, I wouldn’t have to buy all those compressor plugins. Thank you. I love the patience of your explanation, thank you for your vodeosss.
Presonus should link 🔗 to your UA-cam channel, you're doing a great job helping the S1 community.
Thank you!
best tutorial of the S1 compressor I've stumbled upon. Thanks!
Wow! Just getting into this subject and man, you are a great tutor. Incredible clear and to the point. Also your voice is very easy to listen to.
I really needed it, but thank you
Nicely explained, and quietly at ease, without too much information that would otherwise make it too complicated. thx 4 the vid. (even for a Dutch speaker 😄)
Absolutely brilliant, mate! Just subscribed - two videos in and I'm seriously HOOKED! Some really, really great tips and explanations. Many thanks!!!!
Thank you so much! The best explanation i have heard about compression untill now. And its a pleasure to understand the power this compressor has.
Ciao e grazie. Spieghi veramente bene. Purtroppo l'Inglese lo capisco poco ma con l'aiuto dei sottotitoli cerco di arrangiarmi e nonostante questo riesco a capirti ... pensa quanto sei bravo a spiegare 👏👏👏
Excellent tutorial on compression. Thank you so much :)
Thanks very much for this video. I'm a beginner in music production and that video is very very usefull for me.
Thank you so much for such a good and detailed explanation of this plugin!
Yes @Lozamoore Certainly I agree with you mate.. and I must the topic on Compression is explained extremely clearly... 👍🤝 Thank You Mike...
Yo, Mike! Thanks so much for all your videos. You've helped me get reacquainted with Cakewalk after many years away and now your videos are helping me to easily acclimate to Studio One which I really enjoy. I hope more Studio One initiates find your channel, you rock!
Thank you for being so clear in your explanations! Subscribed, Great video.
WHAT a great guy help me out big time that’s a big thumps up from me!!!
Great videos and explanations! Thank you very much! If I could just suggest more sound clips during your video to demonstrate parameter changes.
Just Love you, Love you and Love you, what an amazing work you do Mike,
Excellent presentation!
good guys,very good...
Another fine video. Was wondering what the Output column in the external sidechain selector (21:21) is used for. thanks Mike!
How to get the compressor and pro eq because my studio one no have like that heva only one channel strip only thanks for answer my question
Are we able to do upwards compression with this compressor?
Hi Mike! Another great tutorial! One thing I didn't understand. At 23:00, were you using the Ext Sidechain filter to filter the kick, and if so, why?
Hi Raymond. Yes low frequencies will tend to trigger the compression more, and you can end up with compression when you don't really want it, si it's useful to suppress those frequencies in term of what the compressor 'hears'.
how do you use automation to make chorus's louder then the verse? Mike.
Great work sir! Awesome to see these for Presonus users. Have used it for a few years now, and always nice to brush up on some things I have forgotten. I do have a question though...How did you get graphics into your track notes?
Never mind I looked it up on Presonus website....it is a S16 adaptation. I have S15😆
👍
