What are your thoughts on Axl Rose?
Love you're videos keep up the great work
He was a great lyricist for his age back in the early days.
I think people are too quick to judge him
Axl was such a babe. Energy poured out of him. Such an icon🥰🥰❤💝🔥
That guy is not one of the greatest vocalists of all time.. I guess it was the right time for him to squeak in there in the late '80s but he would not have a job if he were to try to break out doing that shit in 2022 I'll tell you that..
"They're alcoholics." - Kurt Cobain
"He's a heroin junkie with a junkie wife." - Axl Rose
Annnnd both are correct.
Well, Axl was right, Kunt was only partially right. Axl was never an alcoholic, but the rest were.
@@kaceyarmstrong2004 axl didn’t need the alcoholic he was crazy enough 😂
@@kaceyarmstrong2004 if that was his version of 'not alcoholic' then he had a serious problem
@@kaceyarmstrong2004 Ever read the court papers on what Axl did to his wife Erin Everly? 'Anal assault' comes up between the beatings (nice!). Stephanie Seymour testified on her behalf. Axl also faced rape charges. Kurt doesn't seem like the 'kunt' to me - Axl does. Nothing like a Woman defending a sexist, racist, homophobic pig. 😖
@@JHjh88 You lost me at the usual Libtard "sExIsT rAcIsT hOmOpHoBiC" tears. Run along little liberal, there's probably an anti-Trump rally for you to whine at. The world is beyond tired of hearing your mantra.
Me n the wife were riding motorcycles and stopped at a Starbucks in Birmingham Al at the same time that axle was pulling up in a black Lamborghini. He got out right next to us and we said damn that a sweet ride, he told her to crank it it up and have a seat. We had a few mins conversation we never got into who he was or whatever. He was nice to us and just talked like a regular guy about cars n bikes for a few mins.
That Lamborghini he has, cost one million dollars.
@carmine redd You mean he did not pay one million dollars for it?
@carmine redd I've seen it in one of those documentaries about his luxurious lifestyle. If I come across it, I will post the link here.
No way!!!! Didn't you know it was axl? Or did you just not want to bother him about his band stuff? What was he like if I may ask? Was he alone? That's crazy.
He doesn't drive
No mention of Izzy? He was Axl's best friend for the longest time and also responsible for keeping him calm at all times. After he left their songwriting went off the rails and Axl's relationships with Slash, Matt and Duff worsened rapidly because he wasn't there as his security blanket who talked him down and soaked up conflict anymore.
Their feud is actually still rather fresh considering that Izzy turned down every opportunity to join GnR for shows due to 'insultingly low payment' and basically being offered to appear for one song as a show monkey instead of actually rejoining for real to play the songs he wrote. Izzy is on great terms with everyone else in the band except Axl.
To be fair its pretty one sided as Izzy doesn't seem to care at all about returning to the spotlight and Axl still being salty.
Not to downsize Izzy, but Axl talent in song writing is no joke.
@@beetledune9264 Was no joke, though Chinese Democracy showed us otherwise
I mean Axl felt betrayed and it's common in people who had neglected child disorder or whatever it's called. He was the same with slash. They were the closest people to him and such people with such past have reactions "fly or fight" when they feel that they are betrayed - to not feel left alone. Again. And Izzy shitting on Axl and calling his past out doesn't help. It was s##ty of him. He knows that axl prefers to keep his life private, especially since he was facing his past and trying to heal. So he wasn't helping their relationship either.

Are you casting the first stone?
Say what you will about Axl personality and behavior wise, but when he was on, very few lead singers could put on a show like he could. Saw GNR four times in Toronto between 1987 and 1992: They opened for The Cult in 87 (had no idea who GNR was then), opened for Maiden in 88, played with Skid Row in 91 and played with Metallica and Faith No More in 92 and they put on a stellar show each time. Fuck I miss the music and concerts of those days.
U so lucky
I miss those days too. Wish I could go back.....
Would you be mad if you were at a GnR show , and axel decided to leave the stage after 1 song , and then have to run for your life when all the other concert goers started rioting and tearing the place and all their equipment up ?? .
I watched Axl run full-throttle from one side of the stage to the other, while making virtually no mistakes for three and one-half hours during their ‘use your illusion’ tour. It was literally the greatest ‘front man’ performance that I had ever witnessed. I’m a harsh critic. But I have never seen such a driven front man in my life. And Axl nailed it. It was awesome.
@@olivertoeknuckleiii2093 ....That night....You're lucky you got that one
I gotta give Axl credit for remaining alive during all that idle time away from GNR
Yeah but he's an ASSHOLE. Maybe in a way it's better that fellow musicians of that era didn't make it. Look what he became.
Except Axl was never away from GNR, he's the only person that was always a member. He's the sole owner.
Hence the name,Guns amd ROSEs.

Ppl that are really exceptional usually are different. That’s what makes them , them. Axl has had a lot of issues. Axl is grown up now.
Come on. It's not about him being different, it's about a guy who had no good education at all. Period. 😅
Yeah it only took him losing his voice to be a little bit humbled but honestly Axl Rose is still kind of a diva and now he does not even have the talent to support it.

I was done with GnR after their "singer" slugged his girlfriend in an airport 30 years ago and no one had anything to say about it.
I love Axl Rose as a musician he’s an amazing vocalist and songwriter I’ve always been quite a big fan of GnR but he definitely has anger issues which definitely makes him hard to work with
Edit: oh and another thing to acknowledge is that he had a horrible childhood he was abused a lot sexually emotionally and physically and stuff like that can really mess with you so yeah it’s no wonder he grew up to be a bit of a douchebag I honestly feel bad for him if you look up about his childhood it’s really no wonder he turned out like this
I grew up in Lafayette Indiana when Axl was playing in bars. He's changed a lot. His filling in for Brian Johnson of AC/DC shows that in the many videos of that tour in UA-cam. Although there were times I seen Axl had every right to be angry. ie I went to the Use Your Illusions concert and someone threw a beer bottle at him as he played piano during Estranged. He was pissed off and who wouldn't be?
And by the way. Axl and I are around the same age. First I ever heard of him being sexually abused. He was just a rebellious teenager.
@@marvinhunt8276 Incredibly late to comment, I know, but Axl had a huge interview in Rolling Stone (he was on the cover, black and white picture), where he spoke about the abuse he received as a young child from both his father and step father, and horrors his sister went through too. I know he's been through a lot but I still think he owes st. Louis an apology. The people who tore up the place were wrong too.
If he wrote every gnr song , well thats amazing. His voice so low could hit high notes and it would sound like shattering pane glass. I cant remember when i started listening . I think 18 or 20 but they the media still talking about him and im 55 now. He did something right.
Axle Rose can sing in almost six octaves. To be precise, his official vocal range is from F1 to Bb6. Axl Rose's actual vocal range is 5 octaves and five semitones. However, he would occasionally surpassed that and reach C6, with 'Sorry' having one of that significant high notes.
Bon Jovi complains hes not talked about bc hes not on tons of lostbsuck as:

3) David Lee Roth (E1 to A6) - 5 octaves, 3 notes
4) Axl Rose (F1 to Bb6) - 5 octaves, 2-1/2 notes
5) Nina Hagen (G#1 to Bb6) - 5 octaves, 1 note

Hell he held his OWN band hostage refusing to play if they didn't give him everything....everything.
Get off his nut sack. What are you his bitch or what?

I know someone who had tickets to one of his infamous cancelled shows. He was waiting for more than an hour with his girlfriend and the audience, just to have his friend coming to him and say "he is not doing the show tonight. Someone ran into him outside away from the arena and asked 'Axl, why are you here, you are supposed to be doing the show now. ' He replied 'oh, I am not doing the show tonight because I don't feel like it. ' Meanwhile fans waited for almost two hours and so did his band. That's how he was. Now in his 60s, he does things differently, but back then he was not an easy person or artist to deal with by any means.
As much as I love axl rose for his great stage presence and energy for the audience no one can deny that he was a prick, but I mean the guy grew up, wild so what did people expect him to be? One thing that should be noted here is that Guns N' Roses and Nirvana were signed to the same label. There are speculations that the record label knew that a confrontation between Axl and Kurt would heighten the news buzz around them whether it was good or bad. Being that they were 'Bad Boy Rockers' the bad-blood news elevated each bands reputation with their respective fan base and while some would take sides, others, like myself, would be fans of both regardless. In his prime, Axl was incredible on stage. he could fire up the audience with his energy and his desire to push his band to play their heart out. but then fame and over time realizing that he is no longer relevant got in the way.
What got in the way between Axl and his hopes, and how long it took him to face it - was his personal business to deal with, and that's not what got in the way between G'N'R and rock fans. What did was everyone's rather sudden realization that he, and actually G'N'R altogether, were not as awesome and significant as they had been held. She was beautiful. Don Everly daughter. That's who he wrote sweet child of mine for.
Great narrative of the issues with Axl. Read Slash's autobiography which is so self-depreciating I have no doubt it's all true. A really good read.
"Bowie got a bit too friendly" man, we're still savages.
Yeah most of these guys criticizing Axl Rose have never felt Axl's sexy ass passion poop, or even tasted it.
Lol I love it! Axl IS rock n roll
I was at that concert in Montreal where James got injured and Axl walked off stage!! people were setting fire to their chairs and overturning police cars outside....it was wild! Still, GnR is one of my favourite rock bands of all time.
I never saw a male with such a gorgeously handsome face as Axle Rose’s in his young days. 😮😮
I can't help but think how big of a hypocrite Kurt Cobain was. Apparently Axl wasn't the only rocker he had animosity towards. Cobain was influential but at the same time his arrogance towards other performers was a turn off.
Exactly
"Wig-wearing, Botox addicted"....LMAO! That's brutal, but probably true!
Because he is the greatest of all time. Too great of us all.
Old school here, you can say what you want to about GNR, I've been clocking slash for a minute, the boy never misses a note, he has mad skills.
PANTERA
"He's a sexist, a racist and a homophobe"
Cobain was a great spreader of malicious gossip against people he was on the record as saying he hated. He would've been a great 2020's tweeter.
Kurt sounds like a 2022 liberal
@@gryphoncroat trump lost
Thing is that odds are Kurt was correct. If you knew the part of Indiana Rose came from it's likely more true than not. Equally the Pacific Northwest is faaaaaar more liberal. I lived in Bloomington for a decade and trust me when I tell you that you wouldn't want to live ANYWHERE else in the state. Bloomington was actually pretty awesome 👍.
@Nowruz put a fork in that pig trump, he's finished.
@@jackhayes1698 and continues to lose and be a loser. I hope he's got IBS.
Saw him alot. And there was always drama or not coming on till 11 bc he was watching the NY Giants backstage. Well all that is over since Guns played Fenway last summer. Perfect behavior, proly bc they r all clean and serene. N Axl seems to b taking his meds. They kicked ass! Then saw Slash at HOB Boston w Miles Kennedy. Omg what jams!!
I love the music.the bands.idk.I like Guns n Rose's over Motley cruel tho
I remember in the 80s being intrigued by metal and wanting to hear it. I remember looking at the album cover to appetite for destruction and thinking it looked so bad ass. Then I heard paradise city and was totally disappointed with how wussy the music was. I also heard the likes of Bon Jovi and Poison and concluded that heavy metal was awful poser music. It wasn't until hearing thrash metal years later that I started to know what metal was and liked it.
Well, GNR, Bon Jovi and Poison are not metal, especially Bon Jovi and poison.
Guns N’ Roses aren’t metal you dumbass. They’re a hard rock band. That was your first mistake lmao.
@@thecollector4332 I guess reading comprehension isn't your strength as GNR not being metal was the whole point of my post. But thanks for personally attacking me over it. Dick.
@@machineman268 yeah that was my whole point. People in the 80s said that stuff was metal and they were wrong.
@@michaelsantangelo7997
You tried to “get into metal” by buying a hard rock album, from a hard rock band, that never once claimed they were metal. You could’ve checked the label or asked the guy at the store.
What's wrong with these people. Obviously they're prime examples of arrested development!
That would be similar across all celeb genres. We're watching these people in their growing stages, baggage and all.
Maybe a year ago I heard Axl on radio talking about his abuse and how that affected him. I've never paid attention to celeb private lives before, but every now and again I'll look up artists I used to listen to and learn a bit about them. Probably because I'm getting old like they are. 😄
Kurt Kobain calling GNR alcoholics is nothing if not ironic, considering his cause of death was "overdosed on a combination of champagne and Rohypnol" .
A shocking amount of bands that are very tense internally, make some of the best music.
Seriously, before axl got old and fat, he was a tiny lil guy weighing in around 94 pounds. He wasn’t kicking anyones ass😂
No he was about 5' 9", and muscular. Had a lot of anger issues which causes adreline rushes. Kicked some guys a.. that was bigger than him in st. Loius.
He was 5' 9 or 5" 10' average height of a man. He had muscular legs. Ran around the stage while singing. Very athletic.
@@robinbeerman4726 muscular? Compared to whom? Axl was a bean pole that wore a kilt and had anger issues. Those 80’s MTV feuds were all laughable
@@davidstephan5116 why criticize people u don't know? We disagree. I prefer to lift people up not tear them down.
@Robin Beerman uuummm... Stars are intentionally stars! They set themselves up for any and every comment... ? Pity for an angry millionaire that walked off stage several times and left fans hanging? Not to mention the prices that their tickets were going for... He was a buzz kill in Memphis '92.
I always liked that Axl had that real angry and badass attitude, he didn't fake it!
Hell the entire city of Dallas hates the guy. I was there when he tried to pick a fight with the crowd.
Who is that in the picture of the video? It certainly isn't Axl Rose.
It is xD
This is the problem with today. No one knows how to separate the entertainer from the person. I honestly don’t give a shit if he’s a bad person. I didn’t come to watch them be good people. I came to watch em jam. That’s it.
Ya, and he was giving shit concerts too just like they talk about in this episode lol
Yea but you're ignoring the parts where these problems bleed in to the shows.
JBJ who had also had a falling out with Skid Row's Sebastian Bach ran into Sebastian and Axl Rose at a hotel bar a few years ago and they hung out and got along fine.
Kurt Cobain pretty much summed up axle rose in one sentence. Amen to that. Rip Kurt we love you man.
Axel wasnt wrong about kurt either. Just appreciate both of them for their musical geniuses and not the disputes between them❤
Loved him at his best ... tough to watch the body and talent waste away.
Axl the spirit of Rock
Is this Monday night Raw?
Axl wants to fight everyone and he cussed them out
That thumbnail 😅
